  Creative Suite ourchases are platform specific and only the newer released versions (currently CS6) have provisions to swap platforms.   So, it's essentially a thing of the past in your case.  You might be able to find someone selling an older version from somewhere, but it would be a chancy interaction.

  Recently, I bought a new computer and I am trying to reinstall CS 4 on this subject with the CD as much as I bought a few years ago. On my old computer time CS4 and CS2 had been installed. CS4 was an upgrade that I think. In any case, I am prevented installation of CS4 because it cannot find a previous product of CS. It says serial number is invalid this is absurd. I retyped it controls 3 times for errors on my part. None for this purpose.  So, what should I do then? I'm working on a deadline when trying to get jobs at the door.

  If cs2 is not installed, you will be asked the cs2 serial number, for example, the serial number cs4.  Be sure to enter the correct serial number to each guest.

  Check with Adobe. If you buy CS4 now you should be entitled to a free upgrade, but you will need to go to CS4 Design Premium.

  Older versions must be uninstalled manually when you're good and ready.
