Installation of the Firmware of the LifeCam Cinema

Greetings,

So, I need to install the update of firmware for about 500 webcams, y at - it a quick way to do this?

The CinemaFW1033_3.20.exe seems to force me to plug the webcam before the race, but I wonder if the .exe can install the firmware for all cameras connected at the same time for faster installation.

Also, where can I check the Firmware version of the webcam? I never install the supplied software and I can not find the FW Version in the Device Manager.

In addition, the firmware is inside the cam or installed on the local disk? And, is it possible to restore the default firmware afterwards?

Thank you

Hi Tim Keung HK,.

Please see the link below where updates of the firmware should normally be downloaded from:

http://www.Microsoft.com/hardware/digitalcommunication/LifeCam/CinemaFW/en-us/default.mspx

"You must have your entire camera LifeCam Cinema plugged into the USB port for the update process."

I hope this helps!

I want to disable the auto focus and auto exposure, but when I turn it off, they turn their backs on the next reboot of the computer. It's a nuisance to turn them off whenever I turn on the computer. You know a way to disable them permanently, or implementing a feature to do this in the next update?

It is another question, perhaps in connection with prior approval. When I use the lifecam cinema with another device, it makes serious glitches on the image of the camera. The seeds of becomes more serious when I put my face on it, but not other objects. I think it's the face detection feature, lifecam cinema, it attempts to use the feature on the camera too. If you think I'm right, how can I turn off auto face detection function? By selecting 'no effect' on the 'Effects' tab is a not to disable :(

Downloaded the latest software and drivers for LifeCam Cinema. When I go on Windows 8 Start menu and access camera app I get message that it will not work with this version of Windows. What is going on? Tried to uninstall the camera app and reinstall only to get the same message.

I also had the same problems. With my new PC and Windows 8. I installed the S/W and the firmware, but some problem. I found the problem, it was connected to a USB3 (blue one of the USB ports) and it was fixed after that I plugged in a USB 2.

  • LifeCam Cinema - LifeCam.exe has stopped working

Just got a new webcam MS LifeCam Cinema that I ordered, but unfortunately, the software crashes.  The question is not the device itself, because I can see the video in the video settings Live Messenger window, and the test microphone also works.  However, whenever I try to run the software LifeCam itself, I get the pointer for a second, and then it crashes and I get the message "LifeCam.exe has stopped working".

I am running Vista Home Premium SP2 x 64, completely up to date with windows update.  I uninstalled the driver from the CD and it redownloaded go web site (did not work).  I checked all the posts on what I could find, the most common suggestion was to uninstall the Nero software, but I don't have any Nero software installed.  Any help to get this thing to run would be really appreciated.  I want to especially this for video recording, to get the LifeCam program to work is essential.

How many other USB devices attached to this machine?  Are you using non-powered for connection hubs?  I assume that you have already tried to connect to a different USB port on your computer?  Rear ports are better than using all the front ports on most machines (due to wiring and connections, I think).  If you change the Windows ports will really rediscover your hardware and quickly (without downloading) reinstall drivers current.

  • LifeCam Cinema videos are blurry

I bought the Lifecam cinema, but my screen seems kind of blur when it is in use, I looked at a lot of different videos on youtube and similar and none of them have the problem that I received. I tried to turn on lights or turn off and move a lamp ect closer that they have no effect. I've included two screenshots to show what I mean, it seems no harm on them, but is quite a bit worse, while the unit is actually being used. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

  • LifeCam Cinema HD has limited resolution in Vista

I'm running Vista/64 with all updates and SPs.  Just bought a MS LifeCam Cinema HD for use with this computer, and the only resolution I can get is 160 x 120, none others appear on the list of the menu drop down.  I have downloaded the software twice, have done everything that this issue, but on this computer that low-resolution is all I can get recommended to others.

HOWEVER, I uninstalled the software and the LifeCam then works with Skype with a much better resolution, but certainly nothing of such quality HD.  As soon as I re - download and install the LifeCam, the resolution of Skype software goes to pot.

I tried to install this WebCam on a laptop running Win7 and all resolutions are availaable on the menu drop down, I can make videos in HD and HD even works on Skype.

Is there a fix or a workaround for this?  I like the WebCam, especially autofocus, but at 160 x 120, the autofocus function is academic.

    Hi Electrojim,

-What troubleshooting steps have done up to now?

I suggest you to plug the LifeCam Cinema HD into another USB port and check if it makes a difference.

The LifeCam software requires a card video and monitor that can run a resolution of at least 800 x 600 high color. Set the resolution of Windows display on 800 x 600 high color and then test the software.

Try the steps listed in the article below and check if that helps you.

Don't troubleshoot bad or no video or problems to start the LifeCam software

  • Problems on lifecam cinema courses video chat

Recently, I had some weird problems with my lifecam cinema. When I video chat with a friend using Skype or other software, at first the cat everything works perfectly well, but the webcam still stops working after a few minutes (I can't find the device in the Skype settings, the light on the webcam of turns off), and then it will restore to normal. This situation occurs that when I video chat, if I use just audio chat there is no problem. I have all my software lifecam upgrade to the most recent and I tried to reinstall the drivers as well but the problem remains.

    Hey Hong.

Please check the event logs display of error messages followed when the unit stops working in Skype and other video chat programs.

See http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/open-event-viewer to open Event Viewer and check the logs.

Provide us the error report detailed if you find with Skype / other programs and the LifeCam cinema camera.

See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2262196 to be able to use Skype with the LifeCam cinema.

Here are some general troubleshooting steps for Webcam problems.

You can also connect to another computer, and then check if the problem persists when you use Skype and other video chat programs.

  • Webcam LifeCam Cinema is not in the LifeCam software, but works (in low def) with other programs.

Just installed my LifeCam Cinema in the correct order (CD of the software first, then plug the webcam into a USB socket). The usual pop-ups in the status bar is displayed (new hardware found, the webcam is properly identified, "ready to use" and shows in Device Manager) and the installation tells me the installation of the drivers and software is made. Installation normally ends when I click done at the end, but never start step 3 (the camera configuration).

The camera works (not in HD) in Windows Explorer, the last Live Messenger and Skype, but NOT in the LifeCam 3.0 program. "There is no camera connected to this computer," he says, and the only option I have is to click on the help icon. There is no other error message.

I have tried to uninstall, reinstall with the LifeCam 3.0 package downloaded, restart, all the try again all other USB 2.0 ports, disconnect all other USB devices, but the LifeCam software will not find my camera. That way I don't get access to the advanced settings like the resolution and these stupid effects, I was eager to try :) :(

I have .NET installed 3.5, but only Live Messenger than essentials package. Do I need anything else to make LifeCam 3.0 find my camera?

In your case geojayhawk, I would be re - install the drivers for the LifeCam. For some reason, he must have a difficult time reading the driver INF file.

  • Impossible to install the software for microsoft lifecam cinema 3

I can't get the software to install.  Abandonment keeps telling me that there is another incomplete installation pending.  Here's the exact message:

Setup cannot continue because another installation is already in progress.

I don't have any other facilities pending.  I rebooted and rebooted several times.   Using Vista.  The unit works fine, but I don't have the software to do things with him cool because I can't seem to install.  And I can't contact the Microsoft support because I can not find the product ID number anywhere.  Very frustrating.

    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

    Hello crazypokemon,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forums.

Sometimes computers do not always perfectly work as expected, and we need to make changes to get the equipment to work.

Since you get an error message when you try to install the Lifecam software and States error installation is already in progress, I would like to use the Windows Installer Cleanup tool. Click here to download the cleaning tool. You can use the utility to remove installation information for programs that were installed by using Windows Installer. Remember that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility does not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall on.

Once you have installed the tool, right-click on the installation executable and select "Run as Administrator". Then a list of programs is listed. Select the Lifecam software you want to uninstall. This will remove all corrupted files installation. Then restart the software installation.

Hope this will help get your software installed and working tools.

  • How to operate the two cams of LifeCam Cinema web on one computer?

I would like to simultaneously run two webcams Microsoft LifeCam cinema of a single 64-bit Windows 7 computer. But I can only raise a Microsoft LifeCam instance at a time. I can do two at a time by using the sample available with Visual Studio 2010 MFCaptureD3D software, but I have to be able to control the camera, i.e. set the focus manually and select a higher resolution available. How can I accomplish this?  Is there information or code to access the device settings?

    Hello

I fear that you will not be able to exploit two webcams Lifecam Cinema on a single computer, but you can check with third-party software that might solve your problem

Note: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.
