Installation of the Oracle 11 g database Vault

Hello

I installed Oracle 11 g (11.1.0.6) on Redhat Linux AS 5. It works very well.

I want to install Oracle DB Arch on top of this database.

A few questions:

(1) can I install the vault DB 10.2.0.4 on this database? Is it supported?

(2) is there a DB vault for 11 g? I searched but not able to find it. Can it be installed on 11.1.0.6?

I'd rather go with option 1 if taken in charge.

    Hello
    Download http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex-listener/downloads/index.html here ApexListener. The installation guide is on this page http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex-listener/documentation/index.html.

    Alternate, unzip the download and look toward the top of the Installation and the developer's Guide in doc folder. You have all the necessary steps. You can try the Standalone ApexListener initially. (Tip: search for the stand-alone word in the document).

    Make sure that you run the apex/owa/owainst.sql, because you're in 10g when connected in SYSDBA.

  • What do I need install Oracle Database 11 g 2 for the Oracle 10 g database migration?

    Hi all

    Would you be kind enough to help me with the following question!  I currently have Oracle Database 10 g on the old servers to my work and I want to install the GR 11, 2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Oracle database to new servers for upgrade.  I also forms, reports and Designer 10 g to maintain our existing applications.  So, I already looked in the Certification and found the following:

    Latest version of the product: latest version of the database server window weblogic

    Form Builder 11.1.2.0.0 11.2.0.4.0 7, 2008 R2, 2008 10.3.6.0.0

    Reports           11.1.2.0.0                                           11.2.0.4.0                                                 7, 2008 R2, 2008                                   10.3.6.0.0

    Designer 10.1.2.6.0 11.2.0.1.0 xp, vista, 7, 2003 (all 32 bit)

    For Designer, it is approved for a 32 - bit window, so I'm having trouble with the new requirement of system this window must be after 2003.  I want to take all of the availability and follow the Oracle certification (except that I will be given Designer because of compliance) as above.  I'm new with Oracle, and I don't know what comes with what to do it is complete.

    1. I'm going to install a database server (free 11.2.0.4.0 as described above) in a new server (2008 R2), then what I have to install the WebLogic Server with it?

    2. I'll install the generator of reports and Forms Builder (11.1.2.0.0) in another server (2008R2), so what I have to install WebLogic Server as well with her?

    3. what else do I need to install on this two server so that they work so that I can begin to migrate all existing data, forms and States more?

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

    Remember that this forum is targeted to the Oracle Forms product, for questions about the database can be better answered in one of the areas of database.  That being said, here are my comments:

    1 I'll install a database server (version 11.2.0.4.0 as described above) in a new server (2008 R2), then what I have to install the WebLogic Server with it?

    A database facility didn't need of WLS (which I am aware). Consider what you want is a typical design at three levels. Database - average level (applications server) - Client (tools and end user).   Each level has nothing to do with the other installation point of view assuming that they are not installed on the same computer. WLS is a middleware software (medium level). Be sure to check the product documentation before performing any installation. The 11.2 DB docs can be found here:

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/index.htm

    2. I will install Forms Builder and Report Builder (11.1.2.0.0) in another server (2008R2), so what I have to install WebLogic Server as well with it?

    Tools (Forms Builder, generator of reports, etc.) are not remote or web tools.  These must be installed on each developer's computer.  The installation of these tools does not require that WLS be installed first (on the developer's computer), but there is no need to be run unless the developer wants to apply locally for testing.  For a production deployment (multi-user), a similar concept will be used.  WLS will be installed first, followed by the forms and reports Services (runtime).  It will be on your remote server (medium level).  Software distribution you use will be exactly the same for the developer and the installation of intermediate level.  The difference will be in the options you choose during installation.  If you want to include manufacturers during installation, simply check the appropriate boxes when you are prompted.

    Also, if you plan to use the forms/States 11 GR 2, I recommend not using 11.1.2.0 and instead use 11.1.2.2, which is the latest version. F/R 11.1.2.2 installation requires that you first install WLS 10.3.6.  You should refer to the product documentation before beginning any installation. Specifically, carefully examine the product Setup Guide and Guide to the system requirements. The 11.1.2.2 doc library can be found here:

    3 what else do I need to install on this two server so that they work so that I can begin to migrate all the existing data, forms and States on?

    Looks like you've covered everything.  The granular details will be covered in the Installation and Guides to the system requirements.

    My recommendations:

    o ensure that each machine has at least 4gig of RAM

    o ensure that each machine has a static IP address before you start any part of the installation.  This can be done without a static IP address, but you must take additional steps (see Guide to Sys Req).

    o on machines where you plan to install WLS, make sure you have a 64 bit JDK installed first.  If you don't use a F/R 11.1.2.2, you must use Java 6.  However, if you decide to use 11.1.2.2, you can use Java 6 or 7.  Do not use Java 8 in all cases.

    When it comes to the designer, it must be installed on an old machine.  In General, I do not recommend to use it longer.  Although there is currently not a way to full migration out of it, you can use SQL Developer to manage the db objects that were created/used with it.  There are several MyOracleSupport documents that discuss the issue.  You can search the Knowledge Base of MOS to find or contact Support for more information.

    If your host is already connected to the network and an IP address, then card loopback is not necessary. Otherwise, you will need to set up the loopback adapter to have an IP address (for example, if you want to install Oracle apps on your computer/laptop at home that is not connected to a network).

  • After the installation of the oracle, where need to change in my program

    Hello everyone.

    I want to upgrade the oracle 8i to 10g. I think I need to change somewhere in my program on SQL, PL/SQL and Pro * C, if I want the program can run without any problem.
    Can someone tell me where can I change my program.
    I want the list that needs to change SQL, PL/SQL and Pro * C.

    Thank you very much.

    Basic thing you need to do is to run a test environment when you upgrade your database to 10g and run the application against the same for whether something should be changed. If you get any errors with your tests, you don't need to change anything immediately.

    Of course, you can improve the design of your application by using the new features provided in 10g.

    And no one can give you a list of things that need to be changed because it is specific to your environment.

    If the error only occurs when you start the dbca Wizard, the database itself should be ok. Before using it for the production you can stress test your db using swingbench or hammerora to be sure that iti works well.

  • Recover the Oracle Database 11 to the host of the new building installed

    Hello

    I want to test the recovery of an Oracle 11 database that has been saved with RMAN and "controlfile autobackup on."
    The RMAN Repository is in the controlfiles (no catalog database has been used).

    I have a complete backup of the database, the archvies since the last backup and the redologs - the old database until online where the
    database 'crashed' :-)
    (to tell you the truth: I have backup ups sqlnet.ora, listener.ora.) And backups of PWDmpausch.ora and SPFILEMPAUSCH. ORA. But I think that
    It should be possible to recover the database without this file)

    On a new installed host, I did a bog Oracle 11 Standard Edition only software installation standard.
    Operating system is Windows XP SP2
    (D:\oracle\ora11) ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_BASE (d:\oracle) are the same as on the old system.

    After the installation of the Oracle software, I have none of the configurations. (No tnsnames.ora, listener.ora no).
    There is only a default sqlnet.ora in %ORACLE_HOME%\network\admin with a single entry: SQLNET. AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NTS)

    In documentation, I found that I read "startup nomount" database with a minimum setting or basis file.
    I tried to use the default init.ora in % ORACLE_HOME%\dbs\init.ora. (I just changed the "ORCL" db_name to 'mpausch')
    The steps I did:
    define the ORACLE_BASE = d:\oracle
    set ORACLE_HOME = d:\oracle\ora11
    Set ORACLE_SID = mpausch
    sqlplus/nolog
    SQL > startup nomount pfile=d:\oracle\ora11\dbs\init.ora

    But the only thing I get is a: ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
    And
    SQL > connect / as sysdba
    also, does not produce an ORA-12560.

    So, I configured an earpiece and a local name (with Net Configuration Assistant). But only the error message I get
    is it ORA-12560.

    What do I need to configure to be able to start the instance with the minimum setting file?

    Kind regards.

    mpausch

    Make sure that you create the Windows Oracle service with oradim.

  • Relocation of the oracle database to a new server with upgrade oracle software

    Hi guys,.

    Here's the scenario, we have an existing demo Oracle 9.2 database on Solaris 5.9 server. Asked me this transfer to another server with the same OS but with installed Oracle 10g software. The original plan was to mount the exisiting Oracle home of the original server to the new server and copy there all the databases files and set up the database.

    Here are the steps:
    -Issue a statement "controlfile alter trace database backup", download the script of the trace file
    -Copy all database files to the new server
    -Change the settings files
    -Make a startup mount recreate control files, data recovery and startup of the database on the new server.

    I suggested that we to a tablespace of transport but cause limited resources and that the 9.2 database doesn't have this feature, we cannot carry out this process. Also, I can't make an exp/imp of the database as we really have little resources on a disc. I was wondering if the steps I listed above are correct? Or would result in an error?

    The target of the link is a file stored in the Oracle database.

    Did anyone done this before?

    Let me know your ideas.

    Thank you.

    Can be done using UTL_SMTP or more recent UTL_MAIL.

    Attachments to emails are just that - the content of the file is attached to the body of the mail. Mail arrives at its destination, the mail reader recognizes the attachment and allows it to be saved to disk (or open/read).

    It's standard stuff... See MIME for more details on how to build a body of message with attachments.

    Can I send e-mail to PL/SQL with a hyperlink that connects to the file that is stored in the Oracle database?
    The target of the link is a file stored in the Oracle database.

    Yes. You need a web server that has been configured with Oracle "+ access +"-the default is using the Apache Oracle server which includes a module called mod_plsql. This module allows the web browser to use a URL that refers to a procedure from PL/SQL web enabled in a specific database schema - and pass parameters (as part of the URL query string) to the proceedings.

    You can also use Oracle EPG (Extended procedure gateway according to me, is what does the acronym). This provides a web server directly within the Oracle instance using Oracle XDB (integrated database of XML). It also has a module of type mod_plsql which provides that a web interface (via http) enabled PL/SQL procedures.

    This procedure can be a procedure "+ document download. Oracle provides a system procedure called WPG_DOCLOAD.download_file ()+ you can use inside this active web PL/SQL procedure. This will return the contents of the blob/clob as a 'file' in the web browser.

    For example, a download web-enabled simplistic procedure will look something like this:

    create or replace procedure downloadFile( fileName varchar2 ) is
            b       blob;
            mimeType varchar2(50);
    begin
            select
                file_content, mime_type  into b, mimeType
            from my_documents where file_name = fileName;

            OWA_UTIL.mime_header( mimeType, false );
            HTP.p('Content-Length: ' || DBMS_LOB.getlength(b));
            OWA_UTIL.http_header_close;
            WPG_DOCLOAD.download_file( b );
    end;

    The URL will look like this:

    http://my-webserver.my-domain.com:7777/pls/ora/scott.downloadfile?filename=somefile.doc

    where:
    Scott.DownloadFile = name of the PL/SQL procedure
    filename = somefile.doc = name values of the parameter to pass to the procedure

  • Installation and migration Oracle 10 g x 86 to x 64 under SUSE 11 x 64

    Hi all

    I'm trying to accomplish a proof-of-concept for the migration of legacy x 86 environment running Oracle 10 g in x 64 environment, then upgrade the instance of Oracle 11 g. The first step in doing this is installation of Oracle 10 g in the target environment, which is SLES 11 SP2.

    I went though the standard installation procedure; from what I can discern, I installed all dependent packages, including orarun to prepare the environment. I have a source installation package after some minor headaches (unfortunate that Oracle offers them more, because I'm sure there are others out there pertaining to similar projects) and began the process of installation as the oracle user.

    To install, I chose to keep things as simple as possible and went with all the default Oracle settings, although I chose to not create a starter database. The only difference is that I have in the House/storage of database mapped via iSCSI to/opt/oracle/product /. After editing, I was sure to change the property of oracle: oinstall.

    The first phase of the installation runs without problem. I made the necessary changes to the system so that Setup happily buzzes through the prerequisites and ends the first phase of the installation. However, during the phase of liaison, I meet an error:

    «Error in invoking target 'client_sharedlib' of makefile ' / opt/oracle/product/10gR2/db/network/lib/ins_net_client.mk'.» See < journal > for more details".

    In this paper, I am directed to examine the Journal brand, as in

  • Installation of the repository creation utility

    Hello

    I downloaded BIPublisher_11.1.1.3_Desktop and you want to install it on my machine (windows 32-bit).

    in the tutorial, it's sad that I have before installing BI Publisher to run the scripts of the utility of creating repository (RCU) in the Oracle 11 g database.

    I have an Oracle 11 g XE installed on my machine in C:\oraclexe, and it is started.

    I downloaded the ofm_rcu_win32_11.1.1.3.3_disk1_1of1 package and started it.

    I have a problem on a step 2 - connection to the base. I get an error - invalid service name.

    Where can I get the name of the Service, please!

    Try XE service name

    Generally, it is a database name. It was supposed to be specified during the installation of the database.
    If it has not been changed, it should be set in your case.
