Recover the Oracle Database 11 to the host of the new building installed

Hello

I want to test the recovery of an Oracle 11 database that has been saved with RMAN and "controlfile autobackup on."
The RMAN Repository is in the controlfiles (no catalog database has been used).

I have a complete backup of the database, the archvies since the last backup and the redologs - the old database until online where the
database 'crashed' :-)
(to tell you the truth: I have backup ups sqlnet.ora, listener.ora.) And backups of PWDmpausch.ora and SPFILEMPAUSCH. ORA. But I think that
It should be possible to recover the database without this file)

On a new installed host, I did a bog Oracle 11 Standard Edition only software installation standard.
Operating system is Windows XP SP2
(D:\oracle\ora11) ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_BASE (d:\oracle) are the same as on the old system.

After the installation of the Oracle software, I have none of the configurations. (No tnsnames.ora, listener.ora no).
There is only a default sqlnet.ora in %ORACLE_HOME%\network\admin with a single entry: SQLNET. AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NTS)

In documentation, I found that I read "startup nomount" database with a minimum setting or basis file.
I tried to use the default init.ora in % ORACLE_HOME%\dbs\init.ora. (I just changed the "ORCL" db_name to 'mpausch')
The steps I did:
define the ORACLE_BASE = d:\oracle
set ORACLE_HOME = d:\oracle\ora11
Set ORACLE_SID = mpausch
sqlplus/nolog
SQL > startup nomount pfile=d:\oracle\ora11\dbs\init.ora

But the only thing I get is a: ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
And
SQL > connect / as sysdba
also, does not produce an ORA-12560.

So, I configured an earpiece and a local name (with Net Configuration Assistant). But only the error message I get
is it ORA-12560.

What do I need to configure to be able to start the instance with the minimum setting file?

Kind regards.

mpausch

Make sure that you create the Windows Oracle service with oradim.

    Hello retabox, welcome.

It would seem that the installer is corrupted. I recommend trying to use the Windows Installer Cleanup utility to force - to remove the application. Try this:
    2. click on the download link in the middle of the page
    3. save the file to your desktop or just click Run the installation of the application
    4. once the application is installed, open the utility. The utility must be located in the menu START under (START > programs > Windows Installer...)
    5. in the utility, find the application you want to uninstall, and then click the button 'delete' below
    6. once removed, restart the computer and see if you can reinstall the application
Let us know if it works,
    Thank you!

  • Recovered the new Connect whitebox, but unable to connect to the PC

Thank you to all the guys who advises on the recovery tool. I bought a whitebox Connect today and was about to pack come back tomorrow when I came across the posts on this site. I've updated and everything seemed to go smoothly.

The reason for the return, it's that I can't get XPSP2 to see the player at all. The "new hardware found" pops up, telling me that we found a PMP Sansa.  Then comes the windowoffering looked half acre of hell for a driver, except that since the whitebox models do not come with a CD, I have no drivers. And of course, the computer can not find.

Curiously, during the recovery process, Windows recognized the connection, and he even told me he had found a Sansa Connect and installed the drivers for it.  Don't know what happened to these pilots, however, because once the restore process has been completed, it has lost the connection, then went back to the generic "Sansa PMP" window, and no driver could be found.

I just want to use it as a drive in Windows to load audio on; I listen to radio-theatre, conferences, concerts, etc. and download them to the computer, then fill the reader with a selection for my next trip. So I need it to be visible to windows so that I can load it.

Can someone help with the problem of drivers please?  Thanks in advance...

I should always read the rest of the site before posting!  I found the answer - it was a matter of Windows Media Player. I've only had installed 9 - updated version updated to 11 and the system works like a charm.

  • Help with the new APEX install

I'm new to APEX and I try to get the initial installation work.  I have a front end server with WebLogic and Restful Services and a Server backend with oracle 12 c and APEX 5.01.  I've deployed the files ords.war and i.war on the server weblogic and ADR.  I just want to get to the login page.  I tried http://127.0.0.1:8080 / ADR and I get a Web page that displays "ORACLE REST DATA SERVICES" at the top and then you got a 404 error.  In the rest of the data services windows it shows "WARNING: the pool_config view or table is not found in the schema: APEX_LISTENER" ideas that I missed? »»

    Hi, reduction,

Please provide the following information which will help to report the problem:

    • Oracle APEX retail version
    • Version of Oracle database in detail
    • ADR retail version
    • Version of Java EE application server support detail (if you use one)
    • Version of the JDK detail

NOTE: Here "Retail" means the major + minor version. For example Application Express 4.2.4.00.08

For debugging this problem, you face on ADR:

    • Find the folder of configuration of ADR.
    • Enable debug tracing in defaults.xml (if the entry is not there add the entry)
    • Turn on detailed error messages ask in defaults.xml (if the entry is not there add the entry)
    • Start(Re-Start) Oracle Weblogic Server.
    • Go to the URL of the APEX
    • Copy / paste the debug log in the response to the forum. (The error is usually at the end of the paper, paste/fix the whole journal where occurs the first exception)

About 404 - when setting up ADR 3.0 have you skipped configuration "PL/SQL gateway '? (This step refers to the configuration of Oracle APEX with ADR (APEX_PUBLIC_USER configuration) which is required for the operation of Oracle APEX with ADR)?

Otherwise, you will run into the following error message:

Also open your "ords.3.0.1.177.18.02" folder and run the "readme.html" file in a browser and go to the section "404 errors when Oracle configuration REMAINS Data Services" on the causes of 404.

    Kind regards

  • Pavilion a6500f: can I use my old hard drive as a second drive to the new I install.

I have a Pavilion a6500f I can access is no longer as he continues to tell me there are registry errors.  My recovery disk (I got a) or do a hard reset or else he will start.  It came with a window that says recovery system or start Windows normally.  I get a new hard drive to it and have a whole new Windows 7 installed.  The thing is that I don't want to lose all my stuff on the old hard drive.  So my question is can I install the OLD hard drive as a second drive to the new?  If I can then I can just copy all the files from the old drive to the new and use the old as a memory drive.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    The simple answer is Yes.

    (1) I would like to replace the hard drive with the same drive size or larger. But does not exceed 2 T.

    (2) I hope you made the original recovery DVD set the original recovery firstly, DVD media DVD + R try as these will save you having to create a driver disk.  If you really have to buy a complete set of recovery, get it here. It will have all the necessary drivers.  Only $27.00

    (3) I copy the files and destroy the old disk. Its usefulness is damaged since 2008.

HP new cartridges installed, the error message "one or more cartridges appear to be damaged or missing" yellow cartridge is indicated, two new cartridges have been installed, without success.  Device has been turned on several times but the error message remains the same. The pocket of ink has been packed to remove any residue, did not help.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 a: printers print only after the new cartridges installed

Whenever I put in new cartridges I have problems with the print head alignment, then it usually printed.  This time, he was sitting with cartridges empty color for awhile and now it does not print at all.  I always use only the new HP cartridges.  It fails the alignment and the blue and yellow and sometimes the magenta show on the sheet alignment.  What is the print heads?  Why would I need to change them whenever I have to add ink cartridges new which makes no sense.  I have never changed them, but they worked very well until I added the new ink.

    Hey @janh1058,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.  I hope you enjoy your experience here.

I understand that e-all-in-one-HP Officejet Pro 8500 a your printer is printing is no longer.  I would like to work with you on this. I have a few suggestions that might restore your printing capabilities.

It could be that the long period of inactivity of dormancy has dried the print head, even if you have made the right choice in leaving the cartridges installed in the printer.  I recommend you try the following basic troubleshooting steps before embarking on a manual print head cleaning more intensive:

    • Click here and clean the printhead automatically via the front panel of the printer, as shown in the second Solution.
    • Repeat three times if you still have print quality issues.
    • Remove and reinsert the cartridges once more with the printer to force the printer to print a different allignment page.
    • This to improve the print quality?

If you use always the same question, I have a few more advanced troubleshooting tips:

  • Printer HP 6500 E709n - impression is very low, even after the new cartridges installed

New cartridges installed correctly, and there is no error message. But now, the impression is almost unreadable it's so light. What is the problem?

I understand that you are having problems print quality with low impressions.  I've included a useful document that might solve your problem.

Let me know if it helps.

  • Transfer OS to the new build machine

Old computer - 5 years and more, initially provided with bad crash OEM Super HP operating system. 2 years + / there is, has bought a new drive for the operating system MS Windows 7 to the store of the local computer, replacing the hard drive and loaded the new operating system.  All good so far. Former regulator, mobo, etc. acting strange with memory problems.

Built a whole new system. I can't load same OS drive that I bought 2 years on this new system? Old system will be recycled.

If it is a license to retail - Yes, you can move it to another computer as long as it is installed on a single computer at a time. The previous installation of Windows 7 must be formatted or deleted. You will have to perhaps call Microsoft and explain what happened to complete activation. Turn on the second computer will automatically deactivate the license for the first computer. The key works with 32 and 64 bit, but can only be installed at a time.

If it's an OEM license - don't. OEM licenses are bound to the first computer, they are installed on and cannot be transferred to another computer.

  • Install Win7 64 bit update on the new build machine

Initially, I bought a Dell machine with Win XP installed on it, that was obviously an OEM installation. Later, I bought an update to Win7 (boxed version containing two DVD - 1 x 32 bit and 1 x 64-bit).

I looked at the product key on the System Properties screen and it does not contain the letters OEM, then it means that when I upgraded the operating system he converted it from version OEM to a retail version?

The reason for my question is that I intend to use this system for donor parts and build a new one, but it will contain a different MB, CPU and RAM, which if I understand correctly this is what the OEM versions are related to. Building the new system, I will seek to install the 64-bit version rather than the 32-bit on the current computer.

And just to confirm, the old system definetely will be out of use and therefore discarded. I don't mean to reproduce the number of facilities, any transfer from one machine to the other.

    Thanks in advance
    Steve

Hi Noel, thanks for your response.

I have to admit your backup response I expected in the case, but...

Since my original post, I have been informed of "Universal PID Checker", I used to check my current installation (the one I'm looking for scrap) and he informed me that I have a retail version.

If I will have to just suck it and see?

With a question mark above it, I do not want to splash out on a new license if it is not needed.

You will need to invest in a new full version license, because the machine you build will not have an existing previous license eligible to use the upgrade version.

You can try the following and see if it works:

How to do a clean install with upgrade disc:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

    Click on drive Options

Select the disc/s click on Delete

    Click new

    Click on apply

    Click OK

Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

    Enter the product key

    Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

    Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.

Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent

They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it

Click next to complete the activation.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

  • Repeatedly to get BSOD on Windows 8, even after the new re - installed.

    Hello

I installed a new copy of Win8 about 3.5 months ago, and last week I started having these BSOD errors (possibly after a windows update):

    1. NTFS FILES for error SYSTEM
    2. IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL
    3. LIST OF CORRUPT NFP
    4. SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION

Everytime I restarted my computer, I had another of these errors. So I decided to update the installation of Windows 8, and because the update remained stuck on 39% more day I left it. At this point, it was simply impossible to connect to windows whenever I tried because the BSOD would leap upward before that windows won't even load.

    Attempts at recovery:

    1. Fully formatted HARD drive, installed Windows 8, but it was just a matter of time until that the BSOD was back again after a windows update. I suspect that these errors are all drivers related issues, but how can we know which driver is causing the conflict exactly? What can I use to read the Dump files easily?
    2. Research showed it could be things like adapters wireless usb etc, and I noticed that my usb adapter list win8 as a compatible platform. I went to the store and bought a usb adapter which is 8 compatible windows. I also bought a HARD disk that is compatible win8 just to be sure. I tried another new facility at the new disk and he succeeded. I installed the driver of usb wireless network card compatible win8 since the accompanying CD and the BSOD was back.
    3. Completely re-formatted the HARD drive tries again, another installation, but once it has reached "Installing updates" IRQL LESS or DIFFERENT error popped up again. I don't think it actually installed updates because the computer was not connected to the network somehow, because the usb adapter is no longer connected to the computer.
    4. I tried to install another after a quick format once again, and when she reaches the "Install updates" step the BSOD came back (no cable Ethernet or a wireless connection to internet).

    Issues related to the:

    1. A full format really helps the situation?
    2. Is it possible to have driver problems during the installation of windows on a hard drive completely wiped out?
    3. Why it would fail to step "Install updates" even if there is no connection to the network, so no way to download the updates?
    4. Is it possible that the other components of my machine cause conflicts?
    5. If not, how can I solve this problem? What are some other things to try?

Here are the specs of my machine:

    • Graphics, GTX 670 1 800 MB of memory.
    • 16 GB of RAM DDR3 Corsair Vengeance.
    • Processor 3.5 GHz Intel core i7 - 3770 k

    Thank you

    Hello

It turns out one of my RAM chips was defective.

I ran a diagnosis of memory, which has detected hardware problems, then I ran my computer with each piece at a time to determine the defective one.

My computer works fine now. I think that everything else is fine as well.

I thank very you much for all the help. I'll reach out again if something else happens.

  • How recovery will work after the new clean install?

I have a dv7 - 2177cl comes with Vista Home Premium 64-bit.  I'll do a clean Windows 7 install, when I receive.  What I've read, the recovery partition will be useless after that. I made the recovery disc for Vista.  My question is, once that Windows 7 is installed, do the new recovery disc that he will restore in windows 7 or should I return to the conditions of the factory first with Vista recovery disks and reinstall Windows 7?

Message edited by blgray on 01/12/2009 12:44

If you perform a clean Windows 7 install, you would not need the partition recovery. You need not use the Vista recovery unless kit until you want to go back to Windows Vista. Post successful Windows 7, drivers and any software installation required like you, I would say that you take a backup image of the C: drive so that you can recovery back to this work State of Windows 7. You can use Windows Backup and restore of Windows 7 to do so.

  • Restore or recover the software not installed

I can only go back about 3 weeks on my restore point, so i uninstalled a program about 2 months ago is anyway back to a point of restoration at the time? Hello

If there is no available restore points, we will not be able to restore the computer to three months. I recommend you contact Roxio support and check what could be better done.

If you want factory with all applications (except MS Office trial version), you may need to order recovery of HP USB directly:

If you don't want none of this and want just Windows INSTALLER CLEAN 8.1 in your laptop, follow option 1 in this tutorial. It will help you make a USB bootable Windows ISO 8.1:
