Installation of the recovery on laptop with partitions disk

Hello

I made a partition on my laptop using Partition Magic. What will happen if I use the recovery CD to reinstall the system? The system will delete the partition or will only format and settle on the C: drive. Thanks to advamce

Hello

As in the previous announcement described the recovery CD provide two types:
Standard recovery mode and expert recovery mode.
Standard mode removes the whole HARD drive, also the partitions.
In expert mode, you can choose which partitions the OS is to be installed.
Then only the files and data on this partition will be deleted.

Changes Made - this is an installation on the new laptop, in Windows 8, 64-bit

    Description:

    2. the two portable computers have Windows 7, 64 bit. Above the named printer is accessed successfully for laptops.

  • Replace the new Windows8 laptop with Windows7 professional - no disks, but have recovery discs and product key

I have recently fried my laptop 3 year old who has Windows 7 top (my husband he drowned in coffee!).  I bought a new Toshiba laptop and it came with Windows 8.  I already have a laptop with Windows 8.1 so would like to change the more recent Windows 7.  I have the laptop recovery disks drowned and the product key for Windows 7 Professional upgrade.  How can I change to Windows 7 Professional?  I think I need to totally erase Windows 8 first, but I don't know how to do it.

  • Is it a good idea to replace the 2.5 "HDD (with partition recovery inside) with a SSD?

    Hi all

I have a ThinkPad E420 with the recovery partition in the HARD drive. I intend to sell the excessive 750 GB 5400 RPM HARD drive and replace it with a 120 GB SSD, because I need responsiveness instead of ability. Is this a good idea?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards

Lenovo: 'as sensor airbag, Active Protection System can detect sudden changes in motion and temporarily stop the hard drive to help protect your valuable data against certain accidents that might happen because of cell phone accidents every day."

This tool is designed to protect not the mechanics of the SSDS. It would not apply in your case.

  • Question about the recovery of HARD drive partition

    Hello

    I have 2 partitions: C: and d:
I wanted to save video data on D: and was surprised to find some hdd files and folders reverie about it
Yet, I have a small partition hidden and thought that waas of hard drive recovery.
What do you think of this? Can I delete these files on D:?
When restart us the computer after pressed F8, is associated with the files to D: or hidden partition recovery option.

    Thanks in advance

    Boulbar

    Hello

    I'll try to provide answers.
    > I wanted to record video data on D: and was surprised to find some hdd files and folders reverie about it.
The same situation is on all laptops come with HARD drive recovery image. Recovery image is saved in the folder called HDDRecovery. It is recommended to create recovery DVDs using the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator. When the recovery DVD is created, you can delete these files and use of recovery DVDs for the operating system installation.
Otherwise the partitions are large enough, and you should leave this file here. Just define it as hidden and you won't.
    > Again, I have a small partition hidden and thought that hard drive recovery waas on that.
This small partition has nothing to do with the Toshiba recovery image. Recovery image Toshiba is large enough and cannot be saved on small partition.
    > When restart us computer after pressing F8, is associated with the files to D: or hidden partition recovery option.
They are related to the folder HDDRecovery and recovery stored image. When you delete drive recovery option HARD is no longer available.

  • How to install Windows from the recovery in mSATA SSD partition?

    Hi all

I intend to install mSATA SSD on my ThinkPad E420 soon. My laptop comes with the recovery partition in the hard drive. How to install Windows on the SSD drive?

I am familiar with the WIndows installation of optical media, but never to the recovery partition (which I assume where is the installer of Windows).

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards

    Haris

    Hello

Sorry, I have no idea on how to install directly from a separate to another drive, but you may want to check this . You will need 1 CD (start) and a 4.7 GB DVD (data) because Lenovo recovery adds all this bloatware in factory settings.

That said, if you want a clean install, use the Windows disk (in case you do not have the same edition, you can download it legally from the net, google it) and your OEM key for activation.

  • How to avoid ruining the recovery on Satellite L550 partitions

    Hi all

I recently bought the Satellite L550/010. I'll put another OS on it, but I want to assure you that I can still retrieve its state of origin. It came with the following partitions:

First partition (1.5 GB): contains the directories 'Boot', 'recovery', 'System Volume Information' and 'bootmgr', file 'WinREPartition.ini '.
Second partition (454GB): looks like windows C:
Third partition (11FR): contains the directories 'bin', 'boot', 'images_boot', etc. and files 'bootmgr', 'data.ini', 'editaf.bat', etc.

    So, my questions:
What is the role of each of these partitions? Those who can remove and still be able to use the method of "restoration of the recovery partition? Who can remove and always use the method of "restoration of recovery disks?

    Thank you.

    Hello

above all, don't forget to make a recovery disk.

    > What is the role of each of these partitions?
    > First partition (1.5 GB)

This recovery utility that begins d image to local hard drive file recovery

    > Second partition (GB 454):

There is a partition where to install your current operating system

    > Third partition (11FR)
This is the folder of hard disk image to restore the factory settings of.

Installation of any other Os will move partition and you will not be able to restore the factory settings by using hard disk image file (F8 at startup). This is why I advise you to burn a recovery disk if you decide to install another Os. In this case, a recovery disk will restore factory settings

  • HP Pavilion Notebook g7: Re-create the recovery on D drive partition

I have a HP Pavilion g7, which originally had Windows 7.  I recently upgraded to Windows 10. However, the recovery partition (D has still the Windows 7)  Question: Can I just remove the Windows 7 file and re-create the partition recovery with Windows 10 or is it more involved.

    morris81

    Basically, the answer is no.

    Why?

Because installed HP recovery Partition contains a custom Windows OEM compressed HP image and the firmware on the same PC is written to be able to start in this partition (using F11) to this recovery.

Your own partition does NOT contain this file because there is no way to get at HP.

Even in this case, the F11 process wouldn't work, even if you haven't created your own partition.

However... If you want the means to do a full system recovery, then consider using a third-party product known as Macrium Reflect the image of the installation.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

My experience is that SIR, when you use the option of Compression high, typically allows to compress the image file recorded at about 50% of the space USED in the OS partition.  This means that if you have a 40GB and 80GB OS partition is used, MR must only about 20 GB to store the image file.

I use all the time and it usually takes less than 10 minutes to make the backup of the image and at the same time or less do a restore.

In addition, MR has the ability to add a recovery Boot Menu entry.  This then allows you to boot into Windows re, and then you can use it to do a restore - when you cannot start Windows!

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

    Good luck

  • Equium A100-549: blue screen error during installation of the recovery CD

    Hey,.

I recently bought a Toshiba laptop computer, everything worked perfectly until my laptop was attacked. I've got rid of the virus and went to reformat due to a lot of problems that occur. The main one being a mistake has cursed and 'Blah blah' program must be closed. As I continued to get loads of errors.

    The types.

Now then reformatting disk Toshiba said just put the disk in the drive and turn off. I did very well. The said toshiba drive press F12 on startup and then click on run the CD. The CD starts and gets half way thro reformatting.

Suddenly, I get a blue error screen. I thought oh well ill reboot and continue. This is where the problem started. Because I was half way thro removal/reinstallation of windows I was missing some files. I'll reinstall or try to use the Toshiba CD, I get a blue error screen.

(Click to consult the Online Win XP Resource Kit article, or see the Windows 2000 Professional, p. 1548 Resource Kit).
The requested data were not in memory. An address of invalid system memory was referenced. Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM, RAM video cache memory) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause this stop message, as may other hardware issues (for example, incorrect SCSI termination or imperfect PCI card).

Any ideas what I can do? I don't want to return the Toshiba laptop to fix However im thinking this is the only way out.

Please if repplying try to keep technical language to a minnium. Thank you, Dan.

    Hello

It s very strange because the installation since the Toshiba Recovery CD should work properly and without any blue screen message.
Usually, if the BSOD appears if there is a serious software problem or something wrong with the hardware.
I don t think that the software on the CD of restoration could be corrupted.

Have you tried to install the OS from the original CD of Microsoft Windows? It would be very interesting to know if the blue screen also.

However, I think that your laptop is new and the warranty is valid. In my opinion, you should ask the after-sales Service of Toshiba partner to help him because guys could start the diagnostic test and can find the fault.

  • Bluescreen apears on Satellite A40 after installation of the recovery CD

    Hello

I have a Toshiba A40, and I tried to restore the system to factory with product CD recovery setting. The booted CD systems and you are prompted for an installation which was then completed and asked to restart the computer.

However, after a reboot, the PC is not booting. A blue screen appears with a message that "Windows cannot be started due to some problems. Please check viruses or hard drive '.

Then I started the PC with another disk bootable CD and checked for the latest anti-virus that doesn't show anything. Then I run SCANDISK on the hard disk and it doesn't show the problems.

    Could someone please advice?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

It is perhaps a silly question, but have you used the right Toshiba Recovery CD designed especially for the computer laptop satellite A40?

I read many threads here in the forum about people who has recovered or tired to get the phone clean with different and wrong Toshiba recovery CD s.

After this procedure the laptop will not work properly and the BSOD could if poster because drivers preinstalled on the image of Tosh are not compatible with the laptop!

    So be careful!

  • Crush the recovery on Satellite L750 partition

I've updated windows 7 Home premium to Windows 7 Professional. Please could you give me some tips to update (or replace) the recovery as well as Win 7 Pro partition becomes the default o/s, and all software and drivers Toshiba Satellite L750 are included (bluetooth and wireless software & drivers, etc).

I have already created a new system image on the recovery partition and a system repair disc.

    Supermalx.

    > can you tell me how to use the recovery discs to recover
The question is what you want to recover? The whole machine or only the missing files?
In any case, a partial recovery is not possible, all you can do is complete recovery image installation.

After the installation of portable full recovery you will have factory settings again, only in this case, you will be able to use without any problem recovery disc creator.

If you still have some questions you are welcome.

  • Re: Cannot use the recovery on Satellite L505D partition

    Hello.

I am trying to help a friend with their Satellite L505D who had a serious virus problem. I wasn't able to run/install programs with the virus on it. I used a Microsoft tool to remove the rootkit trojan, but I always had problems with viruses. I also lost most of the programs on the computer. All folders were empty (except for some games), so I could not access all of the tools in this way. I could not the machine to load any Toshiba restore utility by pressing zero everything with power. I saw some recovery using F8 during the startup options and had a link to restore the original setting of Toshiba, but clicking that choice has done nothing else a break for a few seconds. I waited several minutes, clicked on it again, rebooted and tried. Nothing. As a side note, once all the while, the recovery partition was visible from explorer.exe. Not before or since.

So I reformatted the computer with a 64-bit Win7 Home Premium Upgrade disk (the partition of restoration by leaving intact) and then enter the key for the system. Supprise, supprise, it asks me to activate within 3 days.

My basic question is, can I access this partition recovery in a different way to use it? IE copy its contents, or start on some comand prompt to log e:?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

To be clear: there is only one way to use the saved on the HARD drive recovery image and install it.
Exact description step by step how you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

If this does not work, only way to do it anyway is to use the recovery DVDs. It is: has your friend created these disks?

I ve done a stupid thing I ve instaled a fresh Win7 to a cd from my friend without touching the hddrecovery partition. Now I have the new copy installed, but I want to go back to the factory one.

It seems from what I ve read on the forums that win7 (being different then the one on the recovery partition) is instaled at present can no longer see the recovery partition (something was delleted when I ve instaled the copy of my friend.).

is there something that I need to replace to start inside or is there a way to fix it?

    Thank you.

    > I ve instaled a fresh Win7 to a cd of my friend
There is no way to start the installation of HARD drive recovery more after doing this.
You have created DVDs of recovery following advice in the document s user manuals?
If this is not the case, only way to still have factory settings is to order original Toshiba recovery disc. You can order it on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
