installation of vmware on asterisk tools

I'm kinda a noob when it comes to linux, so I need some help with this

How to install vmware on asterisk tools (sound using centOS (I guess what I read is basically free Red Hat))

When you select Install/Upgrade VMware ESXi tools should attempt to mount the VMware Tools ISO file in the comments. You will need to decompress the files of vmware tools and install them manually. http://KB.VMware.com/kb/1018414

Instead, I would set up the repository of vmware-tools and just use YUM to install and keep updated.

  • Installation of VMWare in Fedora tools

    Hello!

I just installed Fedora 12 on my Mac under Fusion, and the process was pretty smooth. However, I'm not sure how to install VMWare Tools in Fedora. I am a complete newbie of Fedora, so I don't know exactly how to install it.

    Thank you!

    Nathan

You must install the tools as "root".   During the installation process of

Fedora, you need to enter a password for the "root".  So, to install:

-In the terminal, navigate in vmware-tools-dist as you did before.

    -type the following: su

    -Press on back

-you will ask you for the password, enter the root password

    on this line

-you will be connected to the Terminal Server session as root

    You can then saisir./vmware-install.pl

-You can accept all settings by default when prompted and all must be

    Well.

-Then close the Terminal Server session.

-Then, log out and log insert it again or restart for the changes to take effect.

Usually, I reboot just to make sure everything is loaded correctly.

Now, if you forgot your password to the root, your basically watered since

you even to create a sudoers.

  • Installation of VMware in VMware Player tools

    Hello

I installed VMware Player v7, created a virtual machine (Windows) and wanted to install the VMware Tools via Player > manage > install VMware Tools... but nothing happens when I click on this option. The following 2 other methods I found in a Ko do not work either:

    • Enter D:\setup.exe where D: is the first CD-ROM drive configured for your virtual computer = > NOK as the virtual drive does not show the VMware tools.
    • Looking for the ISO file in the installation folder = > NOK: there is no ISO file.

After searching on the forum, I realized that VMware Player doesn't come with VMware tools and workaround I used was to install VMware Workstation without a license on another computer, find the file "windows.iso", copy it to the computer, mount it as a virtual drive and start the client installation.

The thing I don't understand is the reason for which the option is available in the VMware Player menu if the VMware tools are not? It's very confusing for people new to VMware and only install VMware Player...

You need not download VMware workstation to get VMware Tools in VMware Player!  VMware Player 7 is working fine on my system and had no problem downloading VMware tools, so maybe it's a problem specific to your environment/system that may block recovery.

Take a look at my answer: Re: VMware Tools missing in the Installation of VMware Player 7

  • VMware Tools missing in the Installation of VMware Player 7

    Hi all

If I try to install/upgrade to update VMware Tools after the Installation of VMware Player 7 no ISO will be connected to the virtual machine.

I checked the directory of Installation of VMware Player for the ISOs of the tools but no ISOs are there.

Can you help me out of this Situation or is it a missing element in the installer?

    Thank you

    Michael

I just downloaded VMware-player - 7.0.0 - 2305329.exe and installed under Windows 7 x 64 and had no problems with it automatically detect installed VMware Tools to the guest operating system to be downloaded and successfully downloaded.  Having said that, have you tried? : Player > file > Preferences... > download now all components

Maybe something is blocking you to download the VMware tools.

You could also do it manually by using the following tools from VMware for VMware Player 7.0.0.

Unzip the file, then run the executable result and it will silently install the file without any indication that he actually did like this isn't really so planned how to do even if it works!

First... you seem to tell the difference between x86_64 and i686 iso image of Fedora. I couldn't find an i686 image. Of course, I must be on 64 bit system. If I'm wrong, then please direct me in the right direction.

If you want to use the x86_64 image that's good, assuming that your system supports.  I just used the i686 for example image in the scenario either will not lead the same way.  Then the essence is in the error message that it reported a string zero to locate the core of 3.3.4 - 5.fc17.x86_64 by default and this means that the necessary header files for the kernel were not on the system.  I introduced him as I did so we would understand that if they made a default installation and no upgrade and is not used "-"uname - r"" is then added to "kernel-devel" with yum install the last header of kernel files not by default and would always be a null string error message.

Secondly, I've upgraded to the latest version of the kernel, and I download these errors right now. Should I go down.

The latest kernel, I do not think that it is officially supported by VMware again and tools VMware would need to be patched with the third-party patch before installing with the kernels more later then the default kernel.  So you need to apply one of the hotfixes that are here on the web or use a core of support for VMware, it's your choice.

BTW, it is quite common with the Linux distro once one updated the default kernel will generally use one of the third party patches for VMware Tools install properly and you should be able to find it in the forums and via Google.  In General, VMware is and has always been extremely slow in support of new kernels, where the need to use third-party patches for VMware Tools to properly install on any Linux distro and kernel which is not yet officially supported!

  • Installation of VMware Tools default Chinese

Hi, I've migrated just a Windows XP computer in a virtual machine on merger 4.1.

Works fine, except that when I try to uninstall software that is no longer needed by using the Windows Add/Remove programs of standard tool, all dialogs are in Chinese. This happens for some software to uninstall, but not others.

I guess I blame that on the individual software programs, except that the dialogues were all in Chinese, also when I tried to install VMware Tools.

I guessed the meaning of the different choices during the installation, choose 'Typical', and the tools are installed and I restarted Windows.

Now that dialogue tools boxes are in English, but every time I click the button help in the Tools dialog box, the help files are all in Chinese.

I found a similar problem posted at http://communities.vmware.com/message/1859046#1859046, where the poster creates an image of Win7 using its installation media rather than through migration of an existing computer. The solution success he had to re - run the installation without using Easy Install. Unfortunately, the migration of VMware tool does not offer me the possibility to use or not using any method of easy installation.

Someone has seen this before, or have any ideas?

    Thank you

Have you already checked the language settings in the start menu-> Control Panel - "Regional and Language Options"?

  • installation of vmware workstation 6.5 on windows 10 error

After you install vmware workstation 6.5 on windows 10 it gets error and restart. Is vmware workstation 6.5 support windows 10? FAILED TO INSTALL. vmware workstation 6.5 on windows 8, 8.1 and 10 support. ALL SUPPORT. I still don't understand...

VMware Workstation 6.x do not support Windows 10 and will never support Windows 10.

VMware Workstation 6.x reached "end of support" four years, October 1, 2011: Matrix.pdf product lifecycle

We produce updates for release until its date of "end of support".  A product may not work properly with host OSes, processors or comments OSes that are not compatible with the product, especially the things that have been published after the date of "end of support".  We put a huge amount of effort to ensure that new hardware and operating systems works with each new major release of VMware Workstation, but we cannot go back and update any previous version of product to add support for all hardware and operating systems more recent.  If we tried to do this, VMware Workstation cost much more that it is today, simply because of the amount of work required to maintain!

You need to upgrade your installation of VMware Workstation to something more recent, or downgrade your host operating system to a version compatible with VMware Workstation 6.5.

    I hope this helps!

  • Selection of the method of Installation of VMWare Fusion 7

So I take an edx online course: Introduction to computer CS50x. I am following the installation of VMware Fusion instructions found at the following link: https://manual.cs50.net/appliance/2014/fusion/

I followed the instructions in step #4: I double click the icon of VMware Fusion. I clicked on 'Open' when prompted. I typed my administrative password. I accepted the license agreement. I inserted the license key. I am now in the window "select the installation method. But herein is the problem. I do not know what installation method to choose, and there are no instructions on it. My options are: (1) import of disk or image; (2) import existing PC; (3) install OS X from the recovery partition; (4) import a virtual machine existing; (5) installation of Boot Camp. and (6) create a custom virtual machine.  There are no instructions or advice to navigate through these options.

    Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

From what you have posted, it seems to me that the merger has been successfully installed. The dialog box "Select installation method" you see is Fusion trying to be helpful and you guide in the creation of your first virtual machine.

At this stage of VMware Fusion and eject the mounted disk installation image (so that you do not open the installation program when you must open the copy installed on your disk). Continue to step 5 to download your virtual appliance of the format .ova.

  • 11i/R12 connection at the base of the machine during the Installation of VMWare host.

    Hello people,

I installed 11i and R12 on VMWare. My host in Windows XP operating system.

    11i details-
    VMWare/Guest OS - Windows XP
    Version - 11.5.10.2

    R12 Details-
VMWare/Guest OS - Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3
    Version - 12.1.1

Everything works fine on the VMWare OS application and database (sqlplus).

The problem is that I am not able to connect to the data base (11i/R12) from the host machine. I am successfully able to run the application from the host machine after you put the entry in the file "hosts".

To connect to the database, I have installed the Oracle 9i on the host machine client and put the entry in the TNSNAMES file. ORA generated by 11i/R12, but even in doing so I am not able to connect to the database.

Is there a way I can connect to the database (installed on VMWARE) of the HOST Machine.

I've seen a single installation on VMWARE, where we are able to connect to the database from the HOST machine.

  • The Installation of VMWare tools failed. In any case to force the update/install VMWare tools?

I used to use VMware Workstation 10 and recently upgraded to VMware workstation 11.  However, whenever I try to install a newer version of VMware tools, it will fail with message saying something like "VMware Tools can be installed in the Virtual Machine.

Yes, I am trying to install VMware Tools within the guest operating system, but I get this notification for all my virtual machines, I'm running.

I'm under 6 Virtual Machines simultaneously and they run on Windows 7 32 bit OS and configured with 4 GB of RAM, 1CPU, 100GB HD + 5 GB second HD for the swap file, NO printer, no sound card.

For each virtual machine, I changed about 50 + key of Windows registry and detect the values to hide from all the programs that they are running on the virtual machine.

I assume due to records, I changed, it confuses VM installer who it is not running on a Virtual Machine.  Then I tried to change all these registers changed to send it back to the original value, yet I is always the same message.

I must be missing either some registry values or values that I restored is false. But I don't know which is the case.

I can simply delete all my Virtual Machines and start again with the new virtual machine, but I don't want to repeat this process whenever a newer version of the VM tools out. and installation of windows and search and replace registry values for each virtual computer is full of works.

So, here is my question.  Anyone know how to force the update / install VM tools in my virtual machine?

P.S. I added under scripts in the file .vmx for each of the virtual machines.  I don't think it would cause the problem but just in case I include it.

  • Installation of vmware tools windows server 2012

I have to do something special to install vmware tools on a machine virtual windows server 2012, or just run d:\setup?

    Thank you.

As long as it is the Fusion of 5 or above, just run the installation program.

If Fusion 4, you may experience problems with the video driver that I don't see if Fusion 4 was never updated to officially support Windows 8 guests. In this case, however, if the only goal is to get something running, be sure to disable the video driver from the VMware Tools installation.
