Installation of Windows 8 to 8.1 does not

This was annoying for like 6 months. First of all, the update of windows appeared on my screen and I am able to download. He did the thing 'you have 15 minutes to save your stuff' and then I press the button restart and all I see is the hp (my laptop is hp) logo sitting there and this thing of spinning at the bottom just like when windows starts up. LARGE. But then it just stay there. On the forums and the installation guide that it is said that it can take an hour, but IT WAS TURN for up to 24 HOURS once I tried. I just give up at the end and press the power button. Whenever I tried it just runs.

I did all the things like

-Clear the cache windows store

-Disable the third-party antivirus

-Unplug all devices

-have a good connection internet (I used Ethernet btw)

-J' even used the upgrade wizard

AND I GET THE SAME RESULT EVERY TIME. I leave my phone for 1 or 2 hours sometimes see if it will work magically one day but is not. I need to get windows 8.1 because windows 8 sucks and I want to get windows 10 in the future.

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!

Hello

Thanks for the update on the issue. I appreciate your efforts to solve this problem.

Startup files are corrupt that might cause this problem.

Installation media is required for troubleshooting this problem. If you do not have the installation media, you can create installation media. To do this, follow the link below.

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

Try the following methods to diagnose and resolve the problem.

Method 1: Run the auto repair

Go to the advanced options and run auto repair. It will repair the basic components of Windows and fixed the software.

Boot recovery environment with the installation of Windows Media 8 It is another way to boot the PC and launch recovery tools when something goes wrong with the operating system.

Please follow the steps below. Insert the Windows 8 installation DVD into the DVD-ROM (or the connected USB port), and then restart your computer.

(a) once you start your computer by using the Windows DVD or the system repair disc, a black screen is displayed with the gray text "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD". Press a button on any.
(b), select the type of keyboard and good time .
(c) click on repair your computer in the lower left corner.
(d) select Troubleshooting to Choose an option screen.
(e) click Advanced options in the form of resolution of the problems .
(f) click Auto repair screen Options Advanced .
(g) then choose the operating system by clicking on its button.
(h) Windows 8 will then look for problems on the hard drives and verify that all required files are intact.

If the problem persists, try Method 2.

Method 2: If the auto repair fails, then I suggest you follow these steps.

a. boot from the recovery media.

b. click on repair your computer.

c. click Troubleshooting , and then select Advanced Options.

d. click on command prompt and type the following commands and press enter after each command:

  • New installation of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit does not install the Windows updates

I tried it twice.  I install Windows 7 Professional 64 - bit on a ThinkPad T61.  After installation and activation successful Windows, I tried Windows updates.  The 'check updates' never ends.  After the first installation of Windows, I tried all sorts of bugs found either here or other Windows Help Web sites, does not.  So I reinstalled Windows, but with the same result.

After that the first installation was impossible to install updates, I received the Windows Update stand-alone Installer and downloaded the stand-alone files for updates.  Would install things like IE updates, but no security update would install, as well as most other updates.  Yet once, just standalone Setup would continue to search for already installed updates without ever ending.

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?

Thanks for the comments.  It's good to hear that you have actually solved the problem.

original title: HELP for the installation of Win XP.

    Hi Jorge,.

So the only thing I can think is that it is a sort of master/slave thing.

Your IDE HDD will be a Knight, probably alongside where the power cable is inserted, to dictate whether the player will be considered to be a master, slave, or cable select. Assuming that it is the only HARD drive in the PC, make sure it is designated "master". Then, in the BIOS, make sure that the boot order is specified as HDD0 first (as opposed to HDDx where x is greater than zero).

In addition, assuming that the data cable is the new type of Ribbon with strands of 80, make sure that the blue connector of the IDE data cable is in the motherboard and that the end of the black connector is in the HARD disk and, if it is a two-disc data cable, do not use the gray connector.

  • Try to install Indiana Jones and the infernal Machine, Windows (8 / ME) compatibility mode does not

I try to install Indian Jones and the Doomsday Machine on my computer.
I tried using the compatibility mode for windows 98 / ME, but it does not work. When I run the program splash arrives, but when I click on install it closes then nothing happens. There are no errors.
    I am running Windows 7 64 bit.
Also I install the original CD, and it has worked before in older computers (running Win 98 of course).
    Any help would be appreciated.

The game should run fine under Win7 64 bit. The problem is that the installer is only 16 bit and is no longer supported in Windows. Just use a different Setup program. Try www.markusegger.at. I'm running the Doomsday Machine, Alliance Xwing, Xwing v's Tiefighter, and Grim fandango all on 64 bit Win7 all using custom Setup programs.

I also used the original X-wing, Tie-fighter and fate of Atlantis via Dosbox.

How do I solve this problem

    Hello

Assuming that it's just a problem with the recovery media, here's another solution, you can try.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( it must be the same version that originally shipped with your laptop - IE if your laptop comes with Windows 7 Home Premium, that is the file you need to download ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly file on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  The source of the Image is - Digital River.

    Images of Windows 7.

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

    http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-Windows-7-by-phone.aspx

All pilots additional and the software you may need are located by entering your full model number or Nr here.

  • When you try to import a .mp4 file in windows movie maker, the program does not list the file when I search for it in his file.

When you try to import a .mp4 file in windows movie maker, the program does not list the file when I search for it in his file.  Help, please.

As I suggested previously, conversion to a format like
. WMV before you import it into Movie maker may be the solution.

The free Converter from Microsoft can be a place to start:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

Download Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) (freeware)
    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=24601
    (runs under WinXP SP3 / Vista / 7)

    When you install the program...
    Start Microsoft Expression Encoder 4
    (Start / programs / Microsoft Expression /)
    Microsoft Expression Encoder 4)

On the "Load a new project" screen...
    Left click... "Transcoding project '...

When the program opens, click on... File / import...

(If at any time you get lost while browsing
the program of... to... Window / active Reset
Type or workspace... CTRL + SHIFT + R)

Look for the file/s that you want to convert.
(If files do not appear... open the fall
    window and choose... All files)

Click (highlight) left the files and the left on the Open button.

You can see the files in the "Multimedia content" pane

In the right column... left click on the tab "Output"...

Open the drop directory window and choose an output folder.
(This is where you will find your converted file)

On the left, click on the button "encode".

Wait... video encoding CPU intensive and can
be a slow process. It is always best if you do not have
    multi-task while files are encoded.

Now... try import you again. File WMV in Movie Maker.

    More converters:

There are to many converters available on the net...
the following links are some examples. You can
need to experiment to find the best result.

I have an OEM Windows XP Home Edition, which does not list if it's 32-bit or 64-bit. How do I know what

To check if your XP operating system is 64-bit, you only have to right click on "My computer" and select 'Properties' to display 'system properties '.   If your XP operating system is XP Professional 64-bit, 64-bit will be indicated in the information displayed in the general tab.  However, XP 32 bit operating systems won't have 32-bit, there is no information about this particular point at all.  The XP Home Edition will be 32-bit, but this information does not appear.  XP Professional, however, can be either 32-bit or 64-bit.  If it is 64-bit, it will be indicated on the general tab of the system properties. However, if it is XP Professional 32-bit, nothing is there to indicate that the operating system is 32-bit.

Vista and Windows 7, unlike XP, OS will indicate if they are 32-bit or 64-bit.
