  • Loss of disk space available every day as System Volume Information folder is the largest on my hard drive

My PC is under Windows7 Home Premium... version 6.1... Build 7601... service pack 1.

I have a 1 TB hard drive... 3 weeks ago, I've had approximately 813 gb free space... now, I have only 603 gb of free space. I noticed that the folder System Volume Information is passed to 209,53 Go. Don't know why this issue became so great. I lost about 5 to 20 GB of free space on the hard disk every day.

The System Volume Information folder is the largest on my hard drive... Users folder is 43.38 GB... Windows folder is 31.89 GB... WinSxS folder is 15,18 GB.

I installed a couple of applications in the last 6 months... Driver booster... Download App... and size of file.

I didn't save my PC in the last 3 weeks because of this problem.

The only application that I use for backup is MotoCast USB... it creates a backup of the SD card in my smartphone to my PC.  I've been backup card SD in my phone every 3-4 weeks for the past 2 years but never lost so much hard drive space until the last 3 weeks.

    Any suggestions?

  • Code 80070005 that I tried to install a update for my HP w1907 wide LCD monitor since I got this computer last year, but the installation fails every day.

I tried to install a udate for my HP w1907 LCD's wide screen since I got this computer last year, but the installation fails every day.

Thanks for the clarification, jackfrompa. If the monitor works to your satisfaction, then I see no reason to update his driver unless there is a Security problem with the current driver.
I can't find info list of video drivers of HP being a security risk.

  • The update is ready to install? Every day, day after day?

Every day, I get a message saying "an update of stability and security for Firefox has been downloaded and is ready to install." Every day, I said to restart Firefox to install. I'm not a computer genius, but every day? makes me suspect something is not installed.

The update process is stuck. Go to http://www.mozilla.com and download the full version the most recent is 4.0.1 in 2-3 days it will be 5.0

After downloading, use Ctrl + J to make appear the downloads, and start the installation, when the installation starts down Firefox (be sure it is down in the control panel).

At the end of the installation don't let not the installation start Firefox for you instead stop there and then start Firefox to your habit - this way, you do not create a new profile and add confusion.

Or you can wait until 5.0 comes out June 21 (upgrade to look at 22), I think it would be a full download means less chances of getting stuck. There will be no change to the interface of all add-ons should be automatically improved from 4 to 5. "Do not follow request" will be moved to another place in the options.

  • Same update is installed every day

    I run Windows Vista.

I realized that each day there was 'new' updates to install. Today, I checked the version history and all the days from 29 September until today, there have been at least (over several days) an update with the same title "'AMD - graphics card - ATI Radeon Graphics Cards' status is indicated that installation went well, but the updates keep coming. As I type this I checked and there is already a 'ready to install this update.

Could someone please explain me what is happening?

    Thanks in adavnce

    Jorge E Jaramillo

If there is no problems with the monitor or video display adapter, then you should simply hide the update.
A search in the Microsoft Update Catalog using 'AMD - graphics - ATI Radeon graphics cards' led to this link:
    http://catalog.update.Microsoft.com/v7/site/search.aspx?q=AMD%20-%20Display%20Adapter%20-%20ATI%20Radeon%20Graphics%20Cards

It was published on 04/09/2007 and is for Vista. To hide the update open Windows Update, click the 1 optional update available link, right click on AMD - graphics - ATI Radeon graphics cards and choose hide.

    Hi MartinWithWindowsIssues,

I have some steps that may help you.

    Step 2

Perform a scan of the file system [SFC] checker on the computer that will replace missing or corrupt files.

To do this, follow the steps below:

    1. click on the Start button

    2. on the Start Menu, click all programs followed by accessories

    3. in the menu accessories, right-click on command line option

    4. in the drop-down menu that appears, click the "Run as Administrator" option

    5. If you have the User Account Control (UAC) enabled, you will be asked permission before the opening of the command line. You simply press the button continue if you are the administrator or insert password etc.

    6. in the command prompt window, type: sfc/scannow then press enter

    7. a message is displayed to indicate that "the analysis of the system will start.

    8. be patient because the analysis may take some time

  • Windows KB2656370 update will not install. Does anyone have a solution for this? Every day, it tries to install and cannot. It will not install by using the Microsoft Update feature. Any ideas?

There every time. I don't know even how to stop to try every day. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I'm not very computer savy, so I don't have much technical knowledge or programming.
    Thank you.

    Hello

Have you tried to install the update manually (Standalone installation).
Here is the link where in you can download the update and try to install.
Let me know if it works for you.
If this fails, download .NET clean tool.
    http://CID-27e6a35d1a492af7.SkyDrive.live.com/self.aspx/Blog_Tools/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip
Copy and paste this into the address bar of IE and download the tool.
Remove all versions of .NET installed in the computer.
Once the removal is complete, disable the antivirus and restart your computer.
    Repeat the update of windows.
