Instant space question - images

Hi people,

This is my first post here, because we are quite new to this and I want that what may be an obvious question.

I tried searching but as you'll see in the issue specifics mean no search results does not give the information I'm looking for.

Basically - I am deleting snapshots and the snapshot copy in the parent image before deleting the snapshot itself.

So the amount of used space increases actually before that this tax is reduced.

So you need to more than enough space to delete snapshots.

My question is:

Based on the attached picture, space must be in the "storage used" Vs "storage provisioned" in the summary view.

Or is it the 'ability' Vs 'Space used' in the views of storage?

I saw my storage used to achieve the same capacity as the storage provisioned last time I deleted a snapshot and I panicked that I was running out of space!

I would be grateful to anyone who can me explain this in simple terms please.

Thank you!!

Instant virtual computer just use any free space to store data.   This free space is the difference between the capacity column and space used.

Implemented storage is the amount that could use the virtual machine, and this double amount whenever you take a snapshot in order to allow a rate of 100% full of change in this snapshot.

Above all, you won't have to hit major problems (as VM stop) unless your space used = data store capacity.

    Generally more recent computer ship from the factory with an area of the drive partitioned and set aside for an original image with the intention that in case of major problem, the image can be used to restore the computer back to how it was when it left the factory.  This partition usually just enough free space so that it does not generate the warning of disk space is low.  That the score of the player is not intended to be used by you to store additional data.  If you have done this, you can move the files that you saved it (intentionally or not) on your main (and much larger) drive.

    How can I change the background of the "space needle image"? (not the bureau but the 1st screen)

    Hello helpmezune,

    Move your cursor to the bottom right of your screen, as if you were about to shut down your PC. Charms bar appears. Click the settings (gear) icon. In the settings window, click on the option change PC settings at the bottom of the window. You can change the image of the needle space of the screen option customize in the settings window of change of PC.

  • Instant space?

    Hi all!

    I installed vsphere and come across something that is relative. In the views 'storage' of my group, I have 0.00 B of instant space... What I didn't have space to manage the snapshots showing or is it telling me that I don't use a space for snapshots? To me, it appears that this means how much space is available for snapshots...

    If this is the case and I have no space available for snapshots, can someone give me a good idea of how much instant space, we should have available? I'm looking for basic rules general here as 20% of your space or something like that... We did not use snapshots yet because it is a test environment, but I want to assure you get the right setup for the real deal.

    Thanks for any help / advice anyone can give me on this...

    Thank you!

    Ed

    I think it is the amount of space consumed by snapshots on this volume, there is no need to explicitly reserve space for the snapshots, it uses the amount of space available on the volume.

    If you run out of space on the volume and a snapshot must grow... well Bad Things (TM) may occur.

  • White space between images

    I have 5 flight path images lined up next to each other in a table cell. I reduced their borders to 0, the filling of cells and spacing 0 also. I even tried to reduce the images of padding and margin to 0. However, there is always a very fine line between each of the images I want to get rid of (it's as if all images have a white border around them, but I have reduced their borders to 0).

    Here's what the code looks like:

    < table border = "0" cellpadding = "0" cellspacing = "0" >
    < b >
    < td width = "53" >
    < div id = "box" >
    < p align = "right" > < img src = "features" name = "banner" width = "536" height = "101" border = "0" id = "banner" / > "

    The difference I see is in the images themselves - outermost right and
    the background pixels are faded. There is no other space between images in
    Opera and IE 6.

  • Instant space requirements

    Hello

    I have a few questions on space for a virtual machine snapshots including an 80G hard for hard Windows OS and 500G for data. We use the VSphere 4.1 and VSphere 5.

    1. how much space is required for the instant 80 G or 580 G?

    2. If the .vmdks are on different LUNS will be snapshots stored with the virtual machine configuration file?

    Thanks for helping clear this up.

    Robert

    As mentioned previously, a snapshot can grow up to the size of certain overhead costs as well as the basic disk. Regarding overhead, take a look at table "Load calculation required by the snapshot files" at http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1012384

  • Need a Script to the space of images on a total gap, then tag each image with the percentage of the total image space

    By editing the other scripts, I found here and other sites (including the labels size rorohiko), I worked on a script that will each image with the dimensions of the label and calculate the percentage of the spread of everything (including the text, white space).

    Now, I was invited to a script that tagged the images with the percentage of total image on a gap space. This script is so space images on a total gap, then tag each image with the percentage of the total image space. For example if there is an image that is 10 x 10 inches and four pictures that are images of 2.5x2.5, 10 x 10 would be tagged with 50% and the 2.5x2.5 would be tagged with 12.5%.

    This is the script that does the percentage of total circulation. Can some clever person get to do what I need?

    Suze

    (Sorry, I don't know how to post the script here with line numbers!)

    //

    This script adds printing of information labels to each graphic image. The labels are on a separate layer

    named "PercentageLabels" so that all these added labels can be removed again by simply removing

    the layer.

    //

    If you move or resize items, simply re-run the script to update the labels.

    //

    Before (re) start the script, you can define a paragraph style "SizeLabelStyle".

    This style will apply to all content on labels.

    //

    Before (re) start the script, you can set a style of object 'SizeLabelObjectStyle '.

    This style of object apply to all executives of the label - so if you want a specific background

    fill out or frame, do it through this object style.

    //

    You can change the units of the size label. I put in inches. Change the line below that has

    kUnitToUse - you can use:

    MeasurementUnits.CENTIMETERS

    MeasurementUnits.CICERO

    MeasurementUnits.INCHES

    MeasurementUnits.MILLIMETERS

    MeasurementUnits.PICAS

    MeasurementUnits.PIXELS

    MeasurementUnits.POINTS

    //

    By default the script will not attempt to label the "nested" images If you also want to label

    nested images (for example inline images, anchored frames, pasted images in the images,...) to change the line

    below to read:

    kLabelNestedItems = 1

    //

    If you want a specific image to stay without a label, you can use the Script label palette for

    assign a script called 'ignore' for this frame. The script will then not label this framework to the

    the title of the script is removed again.

    //

    Change the lines with kDontLabelImageFrames, kDontLabelTextFrames, kDontLabelOtherFrames

    below if you want to restrict labelling to only certain types of images: replace the '0'

    in "1" to enable these options.

    //

    Change the line with kShowImageFileName if you also want to display the names of the image in the

    size for the picture frames.

    //

    Small frames are not labelled - the cutoff point is currently a less than 0.1 inch high framework

    or 0.1 inch wide. You can change the cutoff point by adjusting the lines with kDontLabelBelowWidth

    or kDontLabelBelowHeight below.

  • Merge Partition - Space Question

    We have a large table in 10g which has been partitioned from list. As the time has passed data with a valid value is not in any of the lists of the partitions has been inserted several times. These data fall into the default partition

    So we have something like this:

    Table ERRORS

    Partition E_1 values ('A', 'B', 'C')

    Partition E_2 values ('L', ', 'n')-size 600G

    Partition by default E_DEFAULT (but contains data of a single value 'Z') - size 50 G

    Now the seller would like to fix this by adding the values of 'Z' to E_2.

    They offer the following:

    ALTER table split partition (partition E_TEMP, E_DEFAULT) E_DEFAULT ERRORS;

    ALTER table merge E_TEMP, E_2 partition in partition E_2 ERRORS.

    I'm fine with the strategy. I have no doubt that it will work.

    I'm afraid that because the size of the partition is so great the merger will require a 650G extra free in the tablespace. Sellers seem to think that it will just add the 50G to 600G.

    Looking at the documentation, the merge partition section shows:

    "Use the ALTER TABLE ... M ERGE PARTITION statement allows you to merge the contents of two partitions into a single partition. "The two original partitions are deleted, as are all the correspondents index."

    This means to me that it takes two and creates a third, thus requiring the 650G of extra free space.

    But is this always the case if the third partition is actually one of the two being merged?

    For what it's worth, my plan was:

    Failure to Split

    Change the new partition with an empty temp table

    remove the new partition

    Edit E_2 to add the new value

    Insert ERROR select * from temporary table.

    drop temporary table

    I think that this requires free space of 50G.

    Thank you

    My main question, however, and this that I can't test (or do not know how to test) is the solution of partition of merger proposed by the seller requires free space equal to two partitions (in this case 650G) original to work? The seller says no. I think, but can not find documentation or evidence, Yes.

    If the seller says no, ask them for proof. I'm not aware that the internal process has been documented. But you should be able to test quite easily.

    The only reason why a new segment will be created being is if the data would actually be moved. In order to test whether the data is transferred.

    If the data is not moved, it's the same segment as before.

    1 put a line in P1 - examine the IDENTIFIER line

    2 put a line in P2 - examine the IDENTIFIER line

    3 MERGE P2 P1

    4. determine if the data transferred - what ROWID changed?

    The ID will be different if the data has been moved to a new segment.

    create table part_list (State varchar2 (2))
    list partition (State)
    (values of partition p_ca ('CA'),
    values of partition p_wa ('WA'),
    values (default) partition p_default
    );

    insert into part_list values ('CA');

    insert into part_list values ('WA');

    insert into part_list values ("NV");

    Select a State, rowid RID, DBMS_ROWID. ROWID_RELATIVE_FNO (ROWID) fno,

    DBMS_ROWID. ROWID_BLOCK_NUMBER (ROWID) blkno,

    DBMS_ROWID. ROWID_ROW_NUMBER (ROWID) rowno

    of part_list

    STATE, RID, FNO, BLKNO, ROWNO

    CA, AAAV71AAEAAAAs0AAA, 4, 2868, 0

    WA, AAAV72AAEAAAAtEAAA, 4, 2884, 0

    NV, AAAV73AAEAAAAtcAAA, 4, 2908, 0

    ALTER table merge partitions p_ca, p_wa part_list in the p_ca partition

    Select a State, rowid RID, DBMS_ROWID. ROWID_RELATIVE_FNO (ROWID) fno,

    DBMS_ROWID. ROWID_BLOCK_NUMBER (ROWID) blkno,

    DBMS_ROWID. ROWID_ROW_NUMBER (ROWID) rowno

    of part_list

    STATE, RID, FNO, BLKNO, ROWNO

    CA, AAAV74AAEAAAAtjAAA, 4, 2915, 0

    WA, AAAV74AAEAAAAtjAAB, 4, 2915, 1

    NV, AAAV73AAEAAAAtcAAA, 4, 2908, 0

    Note that the ROWID for 'CA' and 'WA' values are different. This means that the lines have been moved. The file number is the same, but the block numbers have changed as to have the line number for 'WA '.

    The fact that existing lines have been moved at all should answer your question about what really makes Oracle. In other words, is NOT just to add the 'WA' line for the existing partitions.

    If you do a SPLIT, but the data of the existing partitions is NOT affected, no data movement is performed. Check this example and see that all existing ROWID components remain the same

    ALTER table part_list split partition p_default ('OR') values

    in (p_or partition, partition p_default)

    He has not given "GOLD" in the partition by default so that Oracle has simply ignored this segment and created a new one for the new partition.

  • Use of instant space for disc RDM

    Dear all,

    ESX Server can support data store VMDK, physical RDM & RDM compatibility.

    Is the comparability of disk speed, physical RDM > RDM compatibility > VMDK Data Store?

    RDM compatibility seems can take advantage of instant virtualization.

    How the use of snap RDM compatibility spaces?

    Thanks for any input.

    Dennis Dai

    Take a look on: http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/vmfs_rdm_perf.pdf

    Physical RDM are a little faster, but you can not the snapshot on this subject.

    Virtual RDM can create snap by creating a delta file in the folder of the virtual machine, if you need space in this point to have the instant copy growing up.

  • How to identify the space of images? [RGB/CMYK]

    Hello

    Could you please someone help me, how to identify space image [RGB /CMYK] InDesign CS5.5 links.

    Is this possible? or we have to use the bridge only?

    I tried to code b/m, but I had "Error: a value is not available for this type of image" message

    myLinks var = app.activeDocument.links;

    try {}

    for (i = 0; i < myLinks.length; i ++) {}

    var link = myLinks [i];

    If (link.status == LinkStatus.NORMAL) {}

    var image = link.parent;

    Alert (image. Space);

    }

    }

    }

    {catch (e)}

    Alert (e);

    }

    --

    Thanks in advance,

    Bala

    Hello

    In the case of color space "EPS" can be read if Photoshop created this.

    Otherwise, this property is not available.

    try... catch should filter your alert:

    var myDoc = app.activeDocument,
    myLinks = myDoc.links.everyItem().getElements(),
    p, e;

    for ( p = 0; p < myLinks.length ; p++) {
         myArt = myLinks[p];
         if (myArt.status == LinkStatus.NORMAL)
              {
              try {alert (myArt.name + ": " + myArt.parent.space);}
              catch (e) {alert (myArt.linkType + ": " + e)};
              }
         else alert (myArt.name + ": Check this link status");
    }

  • Remove spaces in Image Slider

    Hi all.

    I am new to muse, HTML and Web site design, so I'm an uber noob and have been simply Googling everying I can't understand. My current problem is that I have worked on a put option how a sliding gallery but I can't figure out how to remove the spaces between the images.

    Here's what it looks like now

    http://img837.imageshack.us/img837/1310/screenshot20120718at649.PNG

    and here is the HTML code of the sliding gallery

    < div style = "overflow-y: hidden;" overflow-x: scrolling; Width: 850px; height: 400px ">"

    < table width = 2000 >

    < b >

    " < td > < a href =" http://Google.com "target ="_blank"" > < img src = " " http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7111/7578909632_b905a51c97.jpg "width ="500"height ="334"> < /a > < table > "

    " < td > < img src = ' http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7111/7578909632_b905a51c97.jpg "width ="500"height ="334"> < /a > < table > "

    " < td > < img src = ' http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7111/7578909632_b905a51c97.jpg "width ="500"height ="334"> < /a > < table > "

    < /tr >

    < /table >

    < / div >

    Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

    Remove the width of the table and it should work fine.

    At the present time, the picture is 500px and the individual td is one third of 2000px, who comes around 666px. This is why there is an extra space.

    Kind regards

    Abhishek Maurya

  • Space between images

    Hello

    I built a horizontal menu across the page and I want to put one around of a space of 2pixel between each image, I don't want to use the usual break & nbsp, in which case, I tried to put HSPACE = "2" in the image tags. This works great, however its a space both left and right of the image, when really all I want is a space 2pixel space to the right of the image.

    I hope that makes sense.

    Thanks in advance

    Are you familiar with css?

    If so just add this to your css works style sheet:

    #Menu img {}
    right margin: 2px;

    }

    or if you do not have a css stylesheet attached to the page, it can go in the section 'head' of your page code, just before the tag closing as below:

  • Space weird image below

    My page was working fine until I added this to the top of the code: <! DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict / / IN" " http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd" >
    "< html xmlns =" http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml "> "
    Then a small margin appears below some images that I fixed it by defining them as backgrounds (but I don't think it's a real solution) anyway, I send you a link to a page of test and an image pointing to where the images are out of their place, I have a background image aligned shadow corner , but a small space appears always underneath.

    Can someone tell me why?
    Here is the link for the test, I deleted the actual content:

    This image shows the problem:

  • White space after Image in IE; Not in FireFox

    Hi guys,.

    I'm a noob in Web design. I don't really know what I'm doing. I do a job of admin light network on the side and I'm building a small site to advertise on the net. Coming up on something really stupid that I can't understand. I am getting a gap in IE. This gap appears after my main image. This gap does not appear in firefox. I can't seem to find an answer, no matter where I watched, including these forums.

    I downloaded a sample of my site so that you look at. I removed most of the content and all of the links except the services page. services.html seems correct. I spent hours comparing the services.html to the problem page and I can't find the problem.

    Help, please! I appreciate all the comments and no matter when you give me. Thank you in advance.

    http://www.home.SureWest.NET/humangod/SDS/about/about.html

    also got screenshots:
    Gap: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b18/humangod/gap.jpg
    no space: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b18/humangod/nogap.jpg

    Your site has an age to load.

    I think your problem is that the td that contains your image stretches in ie. You have a gap at the top and bottom of equal distance.

    Try to make the height = '759', height = '100% '.

    Try to take the height of this tag completely;

    <>

    as well;

    <>
    This should force the image to occupy all the td.

    Tables can be a nightmare, which is why people are moving to css.

  • Disk space question

    I get a message that I am under very low space on the preload C drive.  I then try to remove a program to create a space and I get a message that says: there is not enough disk space to remove a program.  What should do?

    jeckhart1,

    remove some files from your hard drive which should solve this problem.

    I recommend you scan your computer with the antivirus
