Instead of temporary account, we charge

Hello

I had an account that somehow first connected in the temporary, I rebooted the PC etil worked. Later, when I rebooted the PC, the same thing happened except - restarting it has not changed... So I created a new account and hid the old one by placing it in specialusers reg (32bitDWORD) - a little, he could not be uninstalled. Now it is the thing of the soul to my new account...

There is more than 2 standard user accounts - mine were two admins, but for them nothing happens, Ive also hd drunk one Miu with SP2 it works now.

BTW I tried to use the support of microsoft, but my PID did not work, and the activeX said that it is not recognized or is not correct rorrect... I have a box of rgistered vista 32 - bit OEM version

Thank you

Vista OEM licenses receive support from their computer Manufacturer (System Builder), not Microsoft.

Like you bought a box OEM disk/license, you are a System Builder.

  • What is the duration of a temporary account?

Hi guys. Just a question how long a temporary account lasts?

Only until you log on to the PC or restart.  When you do that, it's basically like you never connected.  Think of it as a one time use account, similar to how a library can let you use a PC, but it resets and clears the history when you disconnect.  A temporary profile is substantially the same in behavior, but it is not caused by a knowingly done setting a temporary profile.  Instead, it is usually a problem where the system could not properly load your real profile.  You can probably fix the problem by simply restarting. But if you can't, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

The symptoms you describe are typical of a corrupt user profile.  It is not too difficult to recover from.  Choose one of the following approaches:

Corrupted user profiles are almost always accompanied, if not caused, the corruption of system files.  After recovery, it is advisable to perform a check disk (chkdsk) with the options/r or/f.  Sometimes it will even recover a profile corrupted itself.

Last night I shut down my computer like I usually do. I was under the impression that the built-in Administrator account is disabled in the Service Pack 1 or 2 (I forget which). I am running SP3.

Is it possible to make that when I choose 'runas' while it is connected to my limited account 'slick' default is my admin account called "slickrcbd' instead of 'administrator '? It is often more convenient to use to run a single command to log with the other account and I keep finding minor tweaks to do.

Now, if only it were as easy to use the control in this way panels, but the only way I know how is to find the .cpl and run it from the command line with "runas / user: slickrcbd 'control XXX.cpl'..." MSCs are even worse, as I have to locate them and made a right click, when half the time I forget where is located the "services.msc" (I added as an individual in the "Administrative Tools" in the Start Menu, as well as the mmc).

Use the hidden administrator account to lower your user account (to the lowest level) APPLY/OK then go back
and reset it to the Admin APPLY/OK - this clearly allows corruption. Do this several times. Do the same for others
accounts that may be difficult. If necessary you can also reset your password in the accounts.
Do not forget to leave your Admin account and the other to the desired level.

Make another Admin account with your password and use it to fix the others if necessary. (just for

  • services.msc logs under "Local System account" instead of "This account" (previous setting for all) on WinXP SP3

Just recently had problems to Windows Update and Windows Installer that were solved by Maurice N.  When you restart the Windows Installer service (again), I noticed that all the services loading of ' run: services.msc' happen under the Local System account. "  Is this a problem?  Found the remarks after a search online, which implies that it is not a good idea.  Previous setting was 'This account' suggestions on the evolution of this return?  I tried to change, but nothing happened.

The Windows Installer Service must be on the Local System account.  I would fix the manual start, since he does not need to be put forward at every reboot and it works day and night to do nothing.  If you set it to manual, it will start when it needs start.

This is true for many Services - as in Help and Support for example.  The 'experts' Support committed by Microsoft engineer will tell you always for this set to automatic, but it the Manual value and you will have more memory and CPU to the things that really matter.

Please provide a link to the Web pages where read you otherwise.

If you want to learn more about the Services of XP, I was looking at the site WWW Viper Black here.  Chances are that you have many Services running, you can do without.

Depending on how much Service tweaking you did on your system and which components you have installed, you should define most of all THE Services to the Local System account.

On my system, sort the list of services by the "Log on As" column, the exceptions referred to in this PROVISION of account/NT would be:

    Customer DNS (automatic)
    Performance logs and alerts (disabled)
    Remote procedure call (RPC) (automatic)
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator (manual)
Windows Media Network Sharing Service (disabled)

You can have more or less depending on what you have installed.  If you are not sure, ask.

P.S. The technician 'expert' advice of technical support to run sfc/scannow has absolutely nothing to do with it.  It's just another one of their wild goose hunting support technician to receive credit for responses with links to KB articles that have nothing to do with your problem and will only waste your time.  You describe not as symptoms suggestive of a corrupt user profile.  It's a real shame.
