  One is not so accurate, but I was able to determine where the tab 'options' is despite the false instructions and screen shot... dunno where they got these... but I found it anyway.

  The second link is simply a link that comes from the tiny button (?) at the top right of the interface of WLM2011... almost too small to notice.

  but it cannot find the target database instance, it can discover only the listener.

  I finally understand the basic problem that I'm name with first Elements 9:

  The software is quite complicated and robust, isn't really all that intuitive (menu bar, etc. is pretty unique) and there is no manual.

  As soon as I bought it, I noticed there is no printed manual, but I wasn't too worried. I thought just register the software and then get all the help I needed. I thought that I could always download a PDF file, like I did with any piece of Behringer harware, that I bought. Nope. could not find a. And when I try to go on all areas of assistance and maybe download a tutorial, I keep coming to pages where I can BUY the training.

  Thus, rant on. I don't know there is a place, somewhere in the maze of information available for this product where I can read or download (with photos), detailed instructions regarding the use of the product. This way I don't have to do a search and after (and modest hair pulling) here whenever I have the smallest problem. Heck, now that I understand how to get my mjpegs to work, the first thing I notice is that do not match timeline and stage line. And it's five minutes after trying to start again. And Yes, I am here and looked for and found a thread on this, although she is yet to respond to my question. Maybe if I search a few other threads or categories, I will get it resolve some time today and can proceed to step 2 to get a video set up.

  Simple typing things that vary from one product to the other - police/size/color/bold/underline/italics should be definable, suite or off anywhere in a message typed in by the user (including answers).   This should be pretty easy. Click the Canon logo in the upper-left, and then click the support tab, and fill in the appropriate boxes until you get to the downloads available for your particular operating system. Select what you need (1 at a time usually) & download to your computer. Textbooks are usually in PDF format & they should open once downloaded & saved. Maybe it's not true for the actual program software because it is usually upgrades from previous versions, so IF you need the software, you will need to find a way to copy the discs to a USB or anything your Mac can read & install from there.

  Hi all

  I just started using InDesign hoping he can help my technical writing work. I mainly write technical manuals - installation equipment instruction manuals. Each step in a manual generally consist of an image showing the next action that the user must perform as well as some text step of explaining what the image and support that the reader needs to do next.

  I understand how to manually add text frames and image, as well as the way which put a link text frames the text between multiple images. However, I hope I can find a way to automate the insertion of a group or a set of images pre-defined.

  An example: I have a 40 step installation manual. Each stage has a photo showing the action step as well as text of instruction below (a bit like a legend). Each page of the book manual steps 6 - 2 rows with 3 steps (think the page orientation to landscape). Each step has exactly the same size and dimension, as well as margins gaps between them. The text block in frame of picture of each step is also fixed in size.

  So I have this installation manual 40 step and I want to insert a step missed between steps 13 and 14. To do this manually, I have laboriously move each step starting with 14 place a 'space' in the following pages, so I don't have space to insert the new step.   Edit: Would be nice to be able to delete a step, and have all the following steps returned a space, as well that were renumbered accordingly steps.

  In your case, I would do the following:

  1. Set up your document according to the desired size and the purge as facing pages.
  2. In the new document change the baseline grid (Preferences > grid), which come only 2 lines is visible, where are your first lines of your steps.
  3. Implement a text object style frame with 3 columns
  4. Implemented 2 paragraph styles (additional to the title or other text: (NEVER WORK WITHOUT PARAGRAPH STYLES)
     1. Style for the step text paragraph, it should align the reference grid only [Text Style] next [Picture Style], auto numbering in the paragraph Style style, tip size fixed as police 10pt, 12pt leader.
     2. Paragraph style for the image [Picture Style], the main autosize
  5. Prepare a picture frame in the size you want, put it in a library.
  6. Drag the frame in your document,
  7. place an image inside,
  8. Cut the frame with the image in the clipbord and
  9. implement the text tool and
  10. Insert the contents of the clipbord in the image point where it should be.

  Position of the image in this case, I would define precisely with the paragraph style.

  Use a unique story for all the blocks of text.

  I have a question specific and General.  Specifically, how can I add audio integrated (or video - I guess I can thus find out how also) clip in a page?  As a general rule, which is the nearest equivalent of an old manual exists since Muse?  Before you buy Creative cloud I asked people to chat if textbooks were available and assured that they were, but of course I can't find one for Muse.  Video tutorials are perfect if you want to learn, in general, everything what the program can do, but when you have a question specific, picky, you want (what I want, in any case - call me a dinosaur if you want) is a manual with an index (or, of course, with a search function).  I tried to enter the above question in the search box to under 'Help' of Muse, but the results don't seem to even relate specifically to the Muse, and even less to the particular question I had - that is to say irritating because I'm sure that the answer is incredibly simple.  I have tons of others, probably as simple questions, about things like changing the appearance of the widgets and where the most widgets, buttons, etc., but I don't like the bug to the forum with them if there is in fact a more rational way to respond.

  I guess I'd love to hear the thoughts of people on this issue in general, too.  Over the past twelve years, it seems to me that the entire industry has moved away from textbooks of the owner, and indeed from any statement based on text.  The latest smart phones many, I bought do not come with any manual beyond a short "quick start" guide, although usually they are available online if you really want one.  Much of the software that I bought recently Ditto.  The theory seems to be that the typical customer is now someone who was born with a smartphone in his hand and grew up with a tablet in her stroller and one in his cradle, and that such a person can understand instinctively new software - and, indeed, don't know what to do with a manual if they had one.  But I see two problems with this - neither of which can worry about the industry, whose purpose, in the end, is to sell stuff, not to help the people to use it.  First of all, what those of us who are older?  Personally I can understand the basic features of most things - I think I was just about to cusp - born but my parents are usually lost without instruction manuals, despite the fact that two of them spent their lifetime of work in the field of high technology.  However, I recognize that these people are not the target demographic.  My second objection is more universal: it seems to me that no matter who, but instinctively warned, who is forced to find out for themselves how to use a program or a device running a risk, even if they figure out how to do what they want to do things the way strong, never of simple learning shortcuts and missing features or the features they would find very useful if they knew about their simply because they have nowhere to turn for pick up.  What do others think?  Have you noticed the trend of the text and the manuals?  It bother you?  Short of a brain transplant, what is the solution for us, old beards who grew up things?

  I guess I have a query more: since I will obviously have to slog my way through a bunch of tutorials video, I'd like some tips on how to set up my work space to better take advantage of them.  Currently, what I do is open the video on a monitor of my configuration double, while I have the program open on the other.  (I tried to view the videos in a corner of my screen, but if I made them small enough not to interfere with the program, I struggled to see what was the instructor).  This configuration would work very well if I were to receive a live video teaching, but the problem with those pre-recorded, is that the instructors never leave you time between you showing the steps to actually make you.  I'm constantly having to pause or rewind the video and whenever I do, I have to click on in my browser and the program I am trying to learn.  In some programs, that is not a huge problem, because when I reactivate the program it is precisely in that I left him, but when I quit Muse, then come back, he loses a little of what I was doing.  (I don't mean it loses data - as much as I know, this doesn't happen.)  Maybe I can better explain it by saying that it does not.  In MS Word, for example, if I, say, highlight a Word and then open another program, such as a browser or whatever, no matter how much time I spend antics outside the word, when I get back to him, the word is always highlighted, my cursor is always right where I left off, etc..  Muse done that - and seen how it is difficult to highlight a particular element in Muse in the first place, is extremely irritating.  It's wasting a lot of time - I don't know when I found myself so shouting at my computer.  "Wait!"  Stop it!  Hold on!  Slow down! ('') Maybe if I actually downloaded videos and then played on a sort of video player, rather than their broadcast in my browser that would be better, but I still have to do inactive Muse in order to make the current drive whenever I wanted to take a break.  Suggestions?  I get actually to the point where I think to play videos in VLC and play at half speed, but I'm not sure I can make it past how weird that makes sound instructors.  (I have a second computer, so I guess that another approach would be to open the tutorial on the other machine, eliminating the need to disable the Muse for the monkey with the video.  I'm going to do if I have to, but it will mean messing around with the physical layout of my workspace, in order to get an another computer monitor where I can see it from the very first - and I have my work space organized in a way that works for all the work that I do.  "I hope that there is a less extreme solution.)

  Of course, I realize that part of the problem is that I am trying to take a shortcut.  I don't want to take some huge block of time to learn a program fully - say, by taking a course - before using it.  I just want to start to build my project and then look for the solution whenever I come to a roadblock.  Part of the problem is that I'm a learner kinesthetic.  I can't hear it unless I really do.  (That is why I just gritted my teeth and painfully through the practice of the "coffee of Katie" Project Muse offers.)  But the other problem is that I'm not a specialist.  I use a dozen different types of applications - web design, print layout page, graphics, editing, music composition, writing, etc. - sound and I do not use one of them every day.  Even if I took the time of my life to learn fully all the tricks and shortcuts in Muse, I forget most of them between uses, since in the meantime I would be learning and using the tips and shortcuts in a totally different program or programs.  (I know because it's happening in every program I use.  Every Time I want to change a style in Word definition, for example, I get how to do, because I do only a few times a month - but in Word, it is super easy to look up, so this slows me down virtually any.)
