• Windows 8 / pen tablet incompatibility

  I just Photoshop CS3 on Windows 7, which worked completely fine with my graphics tablet (Bosto Kingtee 19MA), until CS6 8.1 Win on a new computer.

  The problem is: the pen works in literally every single application on this system again except Photoshop CS6 (not no joke, it even works in the games). I'm fairly certain that there is a compatibility issue with a pen driver in Photoshop which is predominant standard Windows Pen Tablet driver. And I wanted to know how to disable the Photoshop pen driver and force it to use the standard Windows driver.

  Now for more details:
  -Update the pen tablet driver is not an option. Bosto seems not intent to release another driver for this model tablet and the existing driver mostly uses resources already in windows for settings, calibration and etc...

  -The behavior of the pen in Photoshop differs systematically the behaviors described in the windows settings (and behaviors in other windows applications), that's why I don't know that this problem is related to a setting any configuration of Photoshop.

  -The cursor follows the pen on the screen, but does not properly respond to contact or the functioning of the button secondary click on the pen in single window of Photoshop. I tried this with a separate mouse disconnected and also plugged in and there is no change in behavior.

  What I did:
  -Reinstalled the driver tablet pen with the most recent (dated May 2013)

  -Restart the computer
  -Check the windows Tablet and pen settings.

  -Verify that these settings are ignored by Photoshop

  -I'm avoiding currently reinstalling Photoshop because it has just been installed. The pilot pen was installed before Photoshop and reinstalled after. There is no change in functionality.
  -J' tried to update to Photoshop, but it is the statement that the servers are down.
  -Partners: I have Photoshop manually not blocked firewall of Windows - and there was no change.

  So I wonder if there is an update or a fix that allows Photoshop to use the standard pen driver Windows (even at the cost of resolution/pressure angle), a config file I can change to another driver, or is there something else I can try.

  PROBLEM SOLVED:

  For others who may encounter this problem:
  Here are the steps that I found worked:

  1 search C:\ for 'wintab32.dll', it is a Wacom driver provided with windows (I thought it was the Windows Standard pen driver, , but it's not!). You need to delete the .dll file for the tablet of 19MA Bosto Kingtee working in Photoshop CS6 in Windows 8 or 8.1.
      Also: There are two instances of this file in windows! Don't forget to remove only that of Wow64, not the one in the System32 directory. (I use a 64 bit OS, and I won't make any assumptions about this situation in a 32-bit environment).
  2. run the driver Installer TouchPanel Bosto once again, this replaces the Wintab driver... apparently somehow...
  3. manually install the following updates for CS6: (do not use the Application Manager, it does not seem to catch these updates (on my system at least))
  (From the bottom with 13.0.1.1 and back in order by date)

  4 restart the computer after the 13.0.1.1 was updated by the query of the dialog box.

  5. after the 13.0.1.3 update is installed, the tablet of Bosto should work in Photoshop and 8.1 to win!

  Important note:

  Brush the sensitivity of pressure-controlled size does not work particularly well, HOWEVER the pen entry appears enough fairly functional for applications such line of work and basic functions tap-equivalent-to-left-mouse-click (which is all I need to do anyway). There may be some other parameters relating to gradients of pressure, but at this point, I'm just glad to have this tool to return entry!

  How to make a loop on each

  Take precautions in this approach to unlock them all. Some of the standard Oracle schemas are locked and expired intentionally in 11g. Do not unlock those unless you need to (and change the password if you do) to avoid opening unnecessary security vulnerabilities.

  Then, I realized that this estimé package is not provided for windows 7.

  The Universal Adobe PostScript Windows Driver Installer 1.0.6 was intended for use with Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, and Windows NT 4.x.

  For all new versions of Windows, developed jointly by Microsoft and Adobe PostScript driver is provided with the operating system. Under 32-bit versions of Windows 2000 and Windows XP, the driver installation program serves simply to associate the PSCRIPT5 driver included in Windows with a designated user port and the PPD file. For the other 32-bit versions of Windows, the Setup program fails or gives incorrect results. It does not at all with all 64-bit Windows versions.

  It doesn't have the intention to release newer versions of the universal Adobe PostScript Windows Driver Installer. Use the 'Add printer' Wizard of Windows.

• Embedded Python import questions (numpy, scipy, h5py) in release mode

  Background:

  I'm working on a scientific application that uses numpy/scipy (Python modules) in the backend for the calculation and h5py for data collection.  My application consists of a layer of UI in QML/C++ calling an embedded digital computations Python interpreter.

  I have compiled successfully cross - the following libraries:

  BLAS, LAPACK, HDF5, Python3.2, numpy, scipy and h5py

  The application under app/native directory structure is as follows:

  + assets

  + qm

  + usr

  + include

  So far, I am able to run my application in debug mode and was able to import various Python modules (including plug-ins) without any problem.

  Problem:

  As I approach of realization, I started testing in release mode and noticed the following:

  (1) loading external libraries that are formatted in the works of the file bar (ie: I'm able to call BLAS/LAPACK Fortran libraries HDF5 routines).

  (2) run the Python interpreter works integrated (in the main thread or in a separate thread)

  So, I am able to confirm that the external libraries and the Python interpreter running in release mode, as well.

  Problems occur when I tried importing Python modules:

  (3) import builtin Python modules/packages works without problem

  (4) import of modules/packages with relative path fails.  Example, if I run the command:

  Import numpy

  This works in debug mode but not in release mode.  After further review, it seems that when importing packages, any import with relative path statement will fail.  In release mode, the example above does not have:

  Of. import scimath as emath

  However, the following statement works:

  from .scimath import *.

  I have two questions:

  (1) no assumption whether it is a problem of Python, is a matter of output mode?  I'm leaning toward release mode because the same application runs in debug mode.  I also looked at the python source code and could not see nothing esoteric files IO operations.

  2) based on the observation, it seems that relative paths are handled differently between the Debug and Release modes.  Could someone tell me please to some documentation explaining the differences?  And if there is no such thing as these documents, may provide a brief summary?

  Ok.  I think just, I solved my problem.  I will list the observations of first and then another solution that could be useful to someone in a similar situation.

  Bottom Line Solution (if you don't want to read more):

  Apparently, I have compiled my LAPACK library with extended precision of point floating (128 bits) that are not supported on the Cortex A9.  I recompiled LAPACK with double precision.  Running and the import of the application in release mode now works.

  Interesting observations:

  At first, I thought that the dynamic library release mode handles loading differently than the debug mode, because during development, I never came across questions.  As a result, I decided to directly link all libraries that numpy using in my application (even if the application does not use them).  Compile and link all are perfect, but of course, during execution, the numpy failed to load module.

  So I decided to run it in debug as a validation test mode.  Surprisingly, the application will fail at the binding stage!  It gives symbols not try to call the extended precision of the XBLAS library routines (which, as mentioned previously, does not work on the Cortex A9).  At this point, I'm completely flabbergasted that I've been running the application using LAPACK in debug mode without ever seeing this message for almost a year.

  I wondered how is this possible?  I also use the linear algebra of scipy module, calling LAPACK/BLAS routines without problems during development.  In debug mode, I never see this failed or any message indicating that there are unresolved symbols in my the LAPACK library.  In addition, I cross check all calculations against MATLAB/Octave and they are correct.

  Conclusions:

  Here are my conclusions, and if a BlackBerry person can confirm, I'll be very grateful:

  (1) in the mode of publication, the dynamic linker will check each symbol in a shared runtime library.  If no symbol is not resolved regardless of whether your application is used or not, the library of loading will fail.  This does not work in debug mode.

  2) there is a potential bug (not sure) in the linker which also behaves differently between the debug mode and release mode.  In debug mode, the linker cannot link a shared library if no symbol cannot be resolved despite the executable not referencing them.  In release mode, the linker will not FAIL.

  If the two above are met, then I would make a suggestion to change behaviors such as build step and run step behaviors are aligned between them.  Please let me know if it's intentional or if I should file a bug report.

• Problem with the opening of intention with the type ' application/pdf' and no extension of file in Acrobat 16.0 for Android

  I'm having a problem with an Android app that opens pdf files through an intention with ' application/pdf ' as type a uri that does not include an extension (something like "file:///storage/emulated/0/Android/data/package.name/cache/Documents/Document20136000217 25840499999") the file picker opens properly, but if I choose Adobe Acrobat, Acrobat is activated but immediately closes with the message "No applications available on the device to open files of this type".

  If I select the Reader PDF Viewer to open intend the file opens correctly. I also tried adding '.pdf' name of the file and in this case the intention also works with Adobe Acrobat.

  Acrobat seems to ignore the mime type. Documentation to http://developer.android.com/intl/es/reference/android/content/Intent.html#getData () which seems to be a mistake - the mime type must take precedence over the content of the data.

  The application runs on a Nexus with Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 5.

• Adobe Folio billing and releases of Apple

  I am currently unemployed and looking to change my background in the creation of freelance publications annual reports, etc. - for the non-profit sector here in the United Kingdom.

  Being short of money I am considering investments in the annual Adobe Cloud subscription (including editing simple user DPS, with creations unlimited app?) which is currently testing and soon to expire.

  I tested the workflow of the designs and happy with the results so far.  I feel a workflow perspective that I can move forward in this area of development.  However I have a few questions, I would be grateful for entries with.

  I'm confused about Folios and billing issues.  I read reports that Adobe free Folio downloads and I'm sure I read this out of context, but that it wishes to receive clarification.  If I create a showcase App, show what is possible in DPS, promotion bonus publication to e-devices and demonstrate my creativity, I hope to be able to attract some potential work.  I want to do a marketing campaign on my service and invite interested parties to download the App to showcase.

  In creating this binary application for the apple store in DPS, I just assume it's the end of the participation of the Adobes in this process?  I would not that surprises, if there was a good acceptance of freedom download from the app store and receive an invoice from Adobe.

  I would be grateful if someone could clarify this point.

  My second question relates to the Apple.  I am aware that it is a forum for Adobe, but I would assess the knowledge of users and experiences from apple on this point.  Which relates to the policy of apples and releases.   I start to become wary about apple rejecting apps and are unwilling to invest to see rejected.  I am also aware that it will be difficult to answer to this question since one saw the publication, so I don't rely on the experiences of users and knowledge of the procedure.

  Does anyone know of a contact email where I can contact apple and ask for clarification on the specific approval process.  What is likely to get a rejection, and what is the pro - forma they check, just so that it's not a secret to me.  If anyone has the url to guidelines, I would be grateful, that I have a developer account registered app so happy for contact by e-mail and open to suggestions.

  I noticed that the House already has an app in the app store called Adobe & DTS in the title of the company, which has been approved.  The intention is that my application is similar modelled on the application Adobe and DTS, except my own storefront and be a unique app promotion available for free without a subscription.  However, I would like to somehow capture the Subscriber information so that I can stay in touch with interested parties.

  I am grateful for the readers with this one, I really want to do my research and not to surprising obstacles if I finish the purchase of the subscription for one year, which I won't be able to return once committed.

• Affect the intention of output layer

  I would like to know if the following is in the realm of the possible:

  1. Photoshop file layers RGB

  2 edit: assign intent output layer

  3. choose output profile, rendering, etc.

  4. a layer is created on the highest level, and the display color changes to match with the output mode. (Similar to the proof Setup and view proof)

  5. Once this is done, the normal profile to assign is gray. The RGB profile in layers is locked, as long as the output mode exists.

  If the file is passed on to another user, it must be very clear that the file has a layer of intent to exit. I suggest the use of icons and the profile name of output in the document window mode.

  There is a layer of intent of output allowed by file. And it's always the top layer of most.

  Another user has always has the option to hide or throw the output intent layer if he wishes.

  To the extent where the output intent itself - layer content cannot be changed directly, because no actual conversion has executed. Think of it like a OC in a parent document, without the open option in a child document separated. Perhaps a user could add nested in the output mode adjustment layers, but the ability to edit must go no further than this, in order to preserve the integrity of the color.

  It would be a valuable tool. It would preserve space color source both of the destination color space. If one were to place the file in InDesign, InDesign must recognize the output of the file mode layer and convert color based on the mode of release of Photoshop layer settings.

  Apple removes older versions from the Mac App Store, once a new has been released.
