Intentionally slowing and stoppage

I would suggest a limit imposed on the number of "elbow hits" a player can receive per game (football match, not).  I play an individual is currently voluntarily slow down game play.   This person uses every second before you roll the dice, before moving the first pip, and between each subsequent pip move.  It took more than an hour to play the first game!

Now, we have started a new (and last match) and I pushed once, but my opponent didn't 't pass (after dice) for another 15 minutes.  Boost never came back as an option.

Yes, I can resign, but this isn't the point.

  • TB, slow and not meet with 'The Script is not responding' mailWindow.js CAUSE: McAfee (new)

I have been using TB and its predecessor Eudora for years without any problem. These last few months I met it is very slow and usually "does not" clicking on something before the end of the thought. At this point I sometimes get an error message "chrome://messenger/content/mailWindow.js:180", saying that the script has stopped working. I click on continue and it resumes.

After reading the various posts on the topic several times I did 1) re-indexed 2) made a clean installation 3) disabled modules 4) run in safe mode. Nothing seems to improve things. typical symptoms are:
    A. Download emails seems to take normal time, but their display in the Inbox can take a minute or more (used to be instantaneous) by clicking in the intermediate product, the message "not responding".
    B. Sending messages seems normal
    C. selection of a mail in the Inbox, or try to move or delete one takes a minute or more. Click on in the meantime generates the message "not responding".
    D. generally every action with the mouse has this long accompanied "not responding".

I use Windows Vista, McAfee is installed but disabled does not make a difference.

  • Firefox has becomes slow and unresponsive after that I tried to install the addons (not installed)?

I recently format my computer and reinstall windows 7, since it was the only way I know of to solve the problem with Firefox (I already had this problem too). I download the latest version of firefox 33.0.2 and install it. This version was super fast. But becomes slow and unresponsive when I tried to install the Add-ons. I visited the official site of firefox and searching for addons, when I tried to install addons, Firefox crashed. Therefore, it has becomes quite slow and cannot restore previous sessions. Even to type my email address, it takes more than 5 minutes and reacts more frequently (after typing each letter).
I want to know if this is due to some viruses, or this version of firefox is not "stable".

    Hey there,

We are sorry to hear that Firefox crashes. To better help you, please follow the steps below to provide us with crash IDs to help us learn more about your accident.

    1. Enter Subject: hangs in the Firefox address bar and press ENTER. A list of submitted Crash reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
    2. Copy the 5 most recent report ID begins with bp - and then back to your forum question but that stick in the box of "Post a response. (Please do not take a screenshot of your plant, just copy and paste the ID image below is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like)

Once you have done so, you could try the Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that disables certain parameters, disables most Add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

    • In previous versions of Firefox, click on the Firefox button in the upper left of the Firefox window and click help (or click on help in the Menu bar, if you do not have a Firefox button) and click on restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. Please follow the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

    I hope this helps!

  • 30/31 of Firefox is very slow and plant constantly?

    Hello.
Since I updated to 30 FF, I find it VERY slow and it blocks many times a day. I was happy when version 31 is out because I thought it would work better, but it doesn't.
The pages take forever to is to load, most of the time they will not and I have to recharge myself and then maybe they are responsible.
Also, it crashes all the time. I noticed it's on down each time that it kind of "freeze" or when it is something big, which is not at all big load. I've never had this problem before, but have been dealing with this for months now and I'm tired instead.

I think I have almost tried everything. Even uninstalled. I'd appreciate any help, as I would like to continue using it. Thank you.

  • I don't know what to do about Java - my Mac is horribly slow, and I was advised to remove Java. But now it will not open Photoshop without Java.

I don't know what to do about Java - my Mac is horribly slow, and I was advised to remove Java, it installs adware. The more I studied, the more information, I've seen say that most of the Web sites and software do not use Java on Mac more. So I deleted everything related with Java. But now it will not open Photoshop without Java. It will be safe if I get it directly from the Oracle site?

You can download the installer for OS X directly from Oracle. Be sure to uncheck everything installs 'optional' which can appear at the beginning (I think on Windows it wants to install McAfee trial or the toolbar Bing - not really malware, more as desired and useless crud-ware).  I have a course Java JRE install on my MacBook Pro retina like some internal tools we have developed to work are currently java and I use a tool of u. Toronto called CytoScape is Java.  Sites Web will use Java Script, a very different beast and does not require a full Java or JRE install.  But with Java/JRE installed, just be sure of the source of any software that you download and install that is java based (as you should with all the software that you put on your machine).

In addition, for PhotoShop, it says that you need the legacy Java 6 for OS X?  If so, then don't waste your time on the current version, just install that release 6 legacy.

  • 29,0 is too slow and continues to return when using of 28.0 Grrrrr!

29,0 was too slow and too jerky. I returned to 28.0 and it was fine until 29 reinstalled on its own. I checked about: config and everything everywhere was assigned to prevent back but he did anyway. Sorry to his coarse, but what gives? I had deal with this as it has evolved. We should always be able to choose, right?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

  • Hangs, severe slowness and camera running Firefox 27,0 / 28.0 on Windows XP / is it possible to block plugin container?

Experienced a severe slowness and lock-up with Firefox to the end, which ends with a sharp decline in the use of memory and I have repeatedly shut down by the Task Manager. I created a new profile and disabled hardware acceleration. I tried to disable all plug-ins and extensions, but I noticed that sometimes (not always) plugin container was always an active process, I don't understand. Why would it be active when there is no plugin activated? I also noticed that when the plugin container is not active (list under process in the Task Manager), I don't have this problem and Firefox works normally? I need to block the plugin container. Help, please.

If you have deactivated plugins and plugin-container should not be executed. It's one of the reasons I suggested malware scans.

The Windows XP Task Manager lists the processes running. It will list the plugin - container.exe but I don't think it goes further. IIRC a Sysinternals utility was required to get information on the processes associated with the plugincontainer.

Microsoft will now offer free downloads and documentation for which is the Sysinternals software.

  • El Capitan slow and freezes.

    Hello

Since Friday, June 3 of this year my iMac has been regularly making slower with the spinning beachball showing when I open an application and when playing iTunes, YouTube, Vimeo, VLC etc the system just freezes then starts again normally. I ran Intego Internet Security, run CleanMy Mac but also run the same Washing Machine, Intgeo reinstalled El Capitan, but its still slow and freezes. Also, the activity running monitor did not throw all the problems.

No software has been downloaded or installed until this happened, just from appeared Friday and has gradually deteriorated since.  I bought the iMac in 2012 and its been a joy full every day since then. Even that by typing the text in the screen freezes then the rest of the sentence make it up a few seconds later. Also scroll, left and right mouse click can take up to 25 seconds to work, even if the mouse works no problem, if that's any help.

    My system is:

    iMac 27 inches (mid 2011)

    3.1 Ghz Inel Core i5

16 GB at 1333 Mhz RAM

    1 TB HHD

OS X Version of El Capitan 10.11.5

Any assistance here for me would be really appreciated.

First of all, get rid of all the software Intego and CleanMyMac.  They are not necessary and can only add to the problem of slow system and applications.  Do a Google search to find the developer instructions to uninstall.

Also download and run Etrecheck.  Copy and paste the results in your response. Etrecheck is a diagnostic tool that has been developed by one of the most respected users here (and recommended by Apple's Support personnel) of the CSA to provide a snapshot of the system and help identify the most obvious culprits that can adversely affect the performance of a Mac.

  • Firefox very slow, slow and unresponsive on Windows 8.1

Basically, everything is very slow and each action takes a long time to complete - tabs, switching takes about half a second to a full second (5 seconds if there is another tab currently loading / refreshing), by clicking the Center button of the mouse takes more time, about half a second to a second for the exactly scrolling of arrows is displayed same thing with regularly by clicking on the scroll on the right, Firefox bar pretty much freezes for about a full second before reacting to the click.

I tried to run Firefox with addons disabled, which did not help, which I did not know that he don't would be not since this problem started before I even had the addons - pretty good the second, I installed Firefox.
I have Firefox running on an SSD card and a new installation of Windows 8.1. I tried the two Aurora and nightly (currently using every night), both are just as slow.

I have not tried to reset, because once again, the question was already there during my first installation of Firefox.

Figured out what the problem is - it is a software of DisplayFusion I use to support multiple monitors which is causing the problem. I'll just get an alternative until (if ever) the question ceases to exist.

    Thanks for the help.

I have a Version of El Capitan OSX 5 years 10.11.3, processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5computer.  It is slow and jerky.  Any suggestions?  I empty the trash. I have an external backup.

Update your software OS X v10.11.4.

Instructions here > How to upgrade OS X

If after the update is installed, you see always the same slow and jerky behavior, a Safe Mode boot removes the system caches that can help.

Upper left corner of your screen, click on the Apple  > Shut Down.

After your Mac stops, wait 10 seconds, then press the power button.

As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key. You must press the SHIFT key as soon as possible once you hear the startup tone, but not before.

Release the SHIFT key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator.

Once you are in Mode without failure, return to the menu Apple . In the drop-down list, click: reboot

    On Safe Mode

  • Recently affected by slow and crashes

Recently - a week or so, I am experiencing extreme slowness and crashes. In addition, it seems the computer - an old, everything continues to run or looking for something, even if it seems that I'm on the website and there is no need to do that? This habit of not being a problem, but it is now. From a perspective of novices, it seems fair that the computer wants to keep it when he probably didn't need to? I keep getting two messages: Firefox does not - associated with the small hourglass and the script is unresponsive. Here is the message I get when things get slow and "refractory". I hope someone can help. I'm trying to catch up with the computer maintenance; disk and Defrag. But who makes no difference. I noticed recently that when I free up space on my hard drive, I continue to show that a lot of space can be cleared from normal? Thank you.

Well, for starters, the version of Firefox you are using is very old, which means that it is a very slow version. I would do the following to try to speed it up:

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from www.getfirefox.com. Install it.
    2. After starting Firefox, install all Windows updates
    3. Update all of your plugins (Flash, Java, etc.): http://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/.
    4. The analysis of the malware. You can use tools such as MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware, TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit utility and Microsoft Security Essentials (a good permanent anti-virus if you don't already have one)
  • Since Firefox 13.0.1 my scrolling speed is very slow and lazy. Disabled all the plugins still don't work. Any difficulty? I HATE IT!

As soon as Firefox when through it's automatic 'upgrade' the scrolling action became very slow and lazy. I tried all this suggested (disable plug-ins, re-installing Firefox, restart the computer, etc.), but I still can't get back to the way it was. Is there a fix, or how can I re - install the older version that worked so well? I HATE THIS!

Hello mjg263, firefox 13 introduced a scroll smoothly by default - it might not work well on older hardware.

Please, try to update your video driver or if this does not improve the case you can disable scrolling smoothly in firefox/tools > options > advanced > general.

  • Connection WiFi slow and uneven

My current WiFi set up includes an AT@T U-Verse, with disabled WiFi router, which is connected by a cable ethernet to an older Apple Airport Extreme, it seems AC 802.11. Both are located side by side in a Home Office. I also have an Airport Express, located in another room to boost the signal in other parts of my house and to my outdoor patio. This configuration was working fine until recently when the AT & T router has stopped working. He was replaced a new U-Verse router. Now, my signal is weak, slow and uneven in other areas of my house and on my patio. I reset my Apple Airport Extreme and Apple Express and the situation has not improved. I am at a loss to understand why this Setup no longer works. I called AT & T and they found that the Firmware has not been downloaded correctly to the new router, and it was an improvement has been corrected, but not much. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Any time that you change your network hardware, it's always a good idea to perform a complete power recycling of your material.

Check out the following user tip for more details. Please post back your results.

If the performance does not reappear after that, we will have to start all over again with the U-Verse router and add the base stations of the airport in one at a time. It would be useful that you can provide the model number of the U-Verse router and model numbers of each of the base stations you will use in your network configuration.
