Internet connection lost on mode 'sleep'

I often get my internet connection disconnetcted, especially once the computer is switched mode "Eve". I have windows vista OS and a D-link router and cable internet service. I can restore the connection diconnecting the power to all devices and "restart". This problem is more common, and now I have also reset the network card. I have already disabled the ability of the computer stop the connection when it goes into mode 'sleep', so I am now at a loss what to do next. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!

  • Internet connection lost of Airport Express

I have an Airport Extreme bought July 2013 connected to a modem cable my ISP, Cox. I use an iMac running El Capitan. An ethernet cable to connect the modem cable to the Airport Express Terminal. Lately I lost my internet connection. I have set using the diagnostics of the network in the preferences, network, which brings me to restart the cable modem. That works, but it can last all day, or just for a few hours, and then I lose the internet connection. I called Cox Tech support and the guy said that as long as my cable modem lights remained on the balance, then it must be a problem with Airport Extreme. It also suggests to connect the modem cable directly to the computer. I have already happened up to 14 hours at a time and have not lost the internet connection. This leads me to believe that the problem is with the Airport Extreme. I can do about it before buying another Airport Extreme? Thank you.

What is the brand and model of the modem provided by Cox Internet? Is this the same modem that you use when you first installed AirPort Extreme? ... and, if so, it has had problems before connecting or just started to happen as shown in your post.

  • Internet connection only in Mode safe mode with networking

I was using the Internet at home, when I had a pop up telling me there was an anti-virus program download. I pulled out the window pop-up, rebooted the computer and turned on safe mode with network. I thought it was just a problem of virus/malware/spyware. Since I installed several programs to prevent/remove any type of spyware (virus, etc.), I decided to run in safe mode, just in case. I ran the and after he said that my computer was clean, I restarted the computer in normal mode. The internet, however, did more work. He said that the Internet connection was closed portals HTTP, HTTPS and FTP. He also recommended that I check my firewall settings. I use the internet in safe mode with networking, and it works here though.

I'm not really sure what the problem is with the internet settings. I could really use some help!

    Hi AngelicaR,

OK, you should now check your firewall settings, to do so right click my network connection on your desktop-> select Properties (or click Start-> Settings Control Panel-> network connection)

Now right click on your connection to the LAN->-> Advanced->-online advanced, settings, settings-the default settings online-> restore default settings. This will restore the default firewall on your local network connection. Click ok on the screen and restart your pc to see if its working.

If you find the same problem again and then come to the same path: required connection to the local network-> settings-> Advanced-> settings-online Exceprions-> Tickmark the HTTP, HTTPS and FTP, also tickmark "display notification when firewall blocks a program" that will help you the notification to allow access through the firewall. Click ok on the whole screen, restart your pc.

    I hope this helps.

  • Internet connection lost

All of a sudden I lost my internet connection to the access point and have been unable to rebuild.

I use a WRT300-N router connected to a cable modem and my main desktop computer.  On the wireless network access point is a WMP300N installed Win XP HP Office in my Entertainment Center.   This set up has worked well for a few years with only few intermittent problems.

The access point shows a strong signal of 270 Mbps or more, but the wireless connection on the desktop icon is showing "acquiring network address".  When I try to repair the connection Wireless using Windows, repair hangs indefinitely on the "acquisition of IP address.  Icon connection Wireless poster send but not receive data packets.  I think that the configuration is for an automatic IP address (from the DOS command ipconfig for function) and safety is PKP no WEP and that seems fine.

The HP is an older model without the WZN function to automatically configure the wireless connection.

I can't determine if the problem is with my network wireless LINKSYS or something in the computer with the establishment of a wireless internet connection.

    Any help is appreciated.

  • No internet connection after hibernation or sleep.

Hi group, hope you can help me.  When I wake this computer from sleep or hibernation, I have no internet connection.

Activation of the troubleshooting tool tells me I have an ethernet cable disconnected, I don't of course.

I remember, when you use the beta version of the windows operating system 7, I did not encounter this problem.  So now I find myself having to restart every time I come out of standby or sleep.

    Any ideas one?

  • Internet connection lost because of the error of the Ethernet controller after installation of the OS

OK, I installed Windows XP3 Pro on Windows XP2 Pro on my computer of friends because of severe virus problems. However after installation, the controller Ethernet, video card, etc. also took out drivers. The computer manufacturer is no longer available, and some drives are available with these drivers. So is it possible to get the drivers on the system in order to restore the Internet connection? How can I determine what drivers to install?

Open "Device Mamager" and search for points of question marks (?). Also make a list of all the drivers that are listed.

If you still have a restore point made just before you install SP3, I'd
Uninstall SP3 and then use the system restore, I hope that the combination will
get you where you want to be.

Now open the Device Manager"again and compare the list of SP3 for what is currently enrolled. Now you have a list of these drivers you need.

  • When Photosmart C6380 connects to the router Netgear WNDR3400, internet connection lost.

Using HP Photosmart C6380 wireless connection to a Netgear WNDR3400v2 router.  When the printer is on, all devices of lose the internet connection, but can be crazy.  Network WPA2 authentication. the printer shows WPA authentication configuration page so maybe that's the problem.  How can I keep my internet access while the printer is connected to the network?

FRST, make sure that your router has the latest firmware.

Let's define an IP address static and exeternal DNS of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') 250
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS. It's Google DNS. You can choose a different external DNS if you wish.
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that, you will have to redo 'Add printer' using the new IP address.

  • Windows 8 I lose the internet connection after waking from sleep mode

My wife has a new laptop from Toshiba with Windows 8. When he wakes from sleep mode, it detects all wireless signals. If it restarts the computer, it detects our own wireless, as well as all the neighbors signal. Is there a simple way to correct this trend? She dislikes having to reboot the computer whenever she wants to use it.

Very interesting what's happening on a new machine. Are you sure the original wireless network card driver has not been updated (i.e. through Windows Update or its equivalent at Toshiba?)

I guess that the wireless network card driver doesn't handle well "message sent" by the system when it changes the power state change leading to a 'dormant' device (in this case the WiFi network) on the revival of the fashion Watch (same problem with the Hibernate?).

Not knowing your model Toshiba, or wireless network card let me suggest you try the following if options exist for 1 # *:

    1. Go to the section of the network adapters and Device Manager. Right-click your wireless card, and select Properties. Go to the power management tab, uncheck allow the computer to turn off this device and check allow this device to wake the computer , and then save your changes
    2. Go to the control panel and Power Options to change the parameters of the plan (for the selected power Plan), and then select change advanced power settings / wireless adapter / power save Mode / connected and select value is A maximum Performance otherwise affect this value

    * Not sure about my translation of terms/options used above - I am not in an American version

If the above does not help I'd you make investigations with Toshiba on this issue as the owner of a new machine, you're probably eligible for a level of support.

+ Feel free to bring your network card and Toshiba models - this helps in search of possible measures and troubleshooting. And it could help other people if solve you the problem sooner or later...

    Hope this helps

    See you soon

  • Problem getting my WiFi connection after the mode 'sleep'

After my computer wakes from sleep mode, I click on my WiFi network every time to get on the internet.  If I restart my computer, it detects my WiFi network and connects ok.  It's just at the time when it wakes from sleep.  I tried many solutions that people have posted for example to remove some files from my SystemConfig., but have had no luck.

    Hi joycefromil,

I understand that your Mac has problems automatically re-login to a Wi - Fi saved after wake up from its sleep. I can understand the concern here; It seems that it would be a bit tedious to have to re - connect manually whenever you wake your Mac from sleep. I'm happy to help you with this problem.

As a first step, try to remove your Wi - Fi network in the preferred networks list and then add again using the steps here:

macOS Sierra: choose the preferred Wi - Fi networks

Try to test for the problem to see if it persists. If so, I recommend that you try to start your Mac in safe mode and test for the issue. Once you're done test in safe mode, restart your machine normally and try test again to see if the problem has been resolved.

If the problem persists in safe mode, try to create a test on your Mac user account to see if the problem is here. This will help to further isolate the issue. Take a look at this Web site for more information:

  • Internet connection lost when power is removed Probook s 4330

    HP probook 4330 s

    Windows 7 Ultimate + service pack 1 64-bit

Driver: Microsoft 3.0.0.41 RALINK driver (up to date when I do a search)

When I remove its internet external power is lost.  The wireless connection always seems to be in place, but there is no traffic.  I can't ping anything in this case.

The only way to get this up and running again is to

    1. Insert the AC power

    2. restart the service dhcp client (sometimes required to conduct more than once).  The service has not stopped, but for some reason, it becomes it running.

I also tried to disable the 'allow the computer to turn off this device to save power ".  But that did not help.

Have spent a long period of problems, have almost tried everything and am at the point where I am considering the purchase of a new laptop computer.

    Kind regards
