  • Windows could not find a certificate to log on netgear47

I have 2 laptops, Dell is connected and the notbook connects without a problem.  I try to connect this old Vaio pcg - K33 K series and the message above. It comes to XP.

I hung a cable from the router to the computer and can get online but still can't hang wireless.

Your information is somewhat distorted, but I guess that what follows:

'Netgear47' is a model of a Netgear wireless router.

The error message that you get on the Vaio is similar to "Windows could not find a certificate to connect to the network.

What version AND service pack of Windows XP is installed on the Vaio (right click my computer and select Properties, if you do not know).

The most likely problem is that on the Vaio's wireless adapter is misconfigured.  If you use Windows wireless zero configuration (WZC) to configure the card (and not a utility provided by Sony), see the following for directions on how to correct this problem: http://helpdeskgeek.com/how-to/windows-was-unable-to-find-a-certificate-to-log-you-on-to-the-network/

While you are on the "Wireless network connection properties" screen (in the middle of the 3 images on the site linked), look at the box at the top ('use Windows to configure my wireless network').  If this box is NOT checked, then the fix suggested on the web site may not work and you will need to use the utility Sony to make a similar change. In this case, it may be easier to simply delete the 'profile' of your network in the utility of Sony. When you try to connect after you have deleted the profile, the network must be configured correctly.

  • Internet connection issues "Limited or no connectivity." and "windows could not find a certificate to log on the network.

I'm so unable to connect to the internet?

    Hello.

I'm so unable to connect to the internet.

Since I've renamed our WiFi network and add a WEP key, I have problems with wireless connection on my
Windows XP computer desktop, which is a Dell Dimension 4700.

The questions that I get connection are...

"windows could not find a certificate to log on the network.

    "Limited or no connectivity."

I did all the solutions I could try to fix the connection problem!

    1. once I received the message "limited or no connectivity", I click with the right button on the connection and click on repair. It is not always connect for me and I got the "limited or no connectivity message.»

    2. then, I disabled the network connection and then enabled. That no longer works.

    3. I tried to withdraw from the ordered list of connections, and it still doesn't work.

    4. I checked the driver manager, and initially the Ethernet driver was outdated and missing of its pilot. He had a yellow question mark with a black sign and yellow with an exclamation mark inside.

    5. I used DriverZone, downloaded the driver, installed and rebooted the computer after the installation of the it. Apparently, it worked. But I could not always connect.

6 I have ensured that I entered the correct WEP key, and then adjust the settings correctly. I did it like 10 times in a row and would not always connect.

    7. I tried to go to the command prompt and typed in IP Config/All and that's what I mean.

    Windows IP configuration
    Node type: unknown
    Active IP routing: no
    WINS proxy enabled: no
ETHERNET connection to the Local network card
State of the media: Media disconnected
Description: Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection
Ethernet card 2 wireless network connection:
    Suffix the connection-specific DNS: (EMPTY)

    8. after that, I typed the command: ipconfig/release
and then I got this error...

No operations can be performed on the connection to the local network, although it has its media disconnected.

    9. after that, I tried Googling for some solutions, and the solutions I found were not any use.
    A solution was

    10. opening of Services...
    Start | Run | Type: services.msc | Click OK |
Scroll down to and double-click Client DNS | Set to automatic on startup
    type |
Click apply | Click the Start button | When it starts, click OK
Do the same for the DHCP Client.
Do the same for the remote procedure call (RPC).

    and it still doesn't work.

    11. when I look in the menu network connections, I see my connection with a lock on the side, with a red X under the lock and key. In the description, I see not connected, protected by a firewall. How could I remove the internet connection firewall? I disabled the firewall and that did not work.

    12. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the network card and who does not work either.

It is not the network itself that is the problem.  It is not the modem or the cable. There are no disconnected son or something like that. We have other computers in the House and the internet works fine on other computers. As I said, since I renamed our WiFi network and added a WEP password, I had problems with connecting to my Windows XP computer.

My computer has updates that must be installed as well. Updates would fix the problem? I just need to have internet.

What should I do? Thank you for your time.

    Sincerely,

    Justin

Have you tried to set the value of the link speed/duplex mode? I had the same problem you describe. Your card is only capable of 10/100 communication.

  • Windows could not find a certificate to log on the network

So I try to connect to the network that appears, and then trying to connect but it with "Windows could not find a certificate to log on the network. Now, I tried unchecking security in the properties box and also to uncheck it to 'use windows to configure my wireless network.

NONE OF THESE WORK FOR ME!
Also attempted to fix the network, but he says that "windows could not finish repairing the problem because it is impossible to perform the following action: connect to the wireless network '"
I am currently under SP2, but in the process of installing SP3.
    Help!

This error usually occurs because you have specified a connection protocol 802. 1 x.  You must configure your properties to uncheck this box.  See the following article:

If you are a teacher, you should be able to ask better than that.  Seehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375

If I had to guess, I suppose you are trying to connect to a home wireless network and the box to "Enable IEEE 802. 1 x authentication for this network"is checked (do not).

    1. Open network connections (start > run > ncpa.cpl > OK)
    2. Right click on your wireless adapter icon and select Properties
    3. Click the wireless networks tab
    4. Select your network from the list of preferred networks, and then click "Properties".
    5. Click the Authentication tab
    6. Uncheck the box and OK your way out.
    7. You should not restart, but do it anyway, on general principles.

If that doesn't help - and if your question relates to a wireless home network - and then follow the above instructions until step 4, but instead click on 'Properties', click on 'delete '.  Then go to the list of available wireless networks, find your network and click on connect.  Enter the password when you are prompted.

    Hello

    · What type of encryption do you use on the router?

    · You have the latest drivers for your wireless network card?

    a. Click Start, then select run.

    b. term ncpa.cpl type dialog box and then click OK.

    c. right click on wireless network connection icon and select Properties.

    d. click the wireless network tab.

  • Unable to find certificate to log on to the network

Well guys, I see that it is a problem that has been lingering for a while and I see that several people have described situations similar to mine, but so far I have not found anything to fix the problem if this annoying box is unchecked.
But fundamentally, our situation is as follows. We have a router that we all used without problems for more than six months on the four different laptops and a desktop computer. Two months ago the internet provider cut internet, but the router was plugged left. We have been able to access the router connection without problem. Then, last night, we got the internet hooked up again. I was able to connect to the router with my Toshiba laptop (Windows 7) and HP (Windows Vista) office, a roommate was able to connect with his Mac laptop (hell if I know what OS), but our other roommate is to get this identity validation / can not find the certificate on his Toshiba laptop (Windows XP). He followed the directions given and when it gets to the last statement, the box is unchecked and highlighted so that you can't do anything to change it anyway. It can connect to other signals, but not our home signal, which we left unsecured while we try to understand this. Help someone? We are open to suggestions here.

What are the directions have been followed?  What is "the last statement?

Do you mean the box for "enable authentication IEEE 802. 1 x for this network?  And what do you mean by ' underlined so you can't do anything to change it?  Do you mean that it is grayed out (see this screenshot:http://screenshots.modemhelp.net/screenshots/Windows_XP/Network_Connections/Wireless_Network_Connection/Properties/Wireless_Networks/Properties/Authentication.shtml )?

Delete the entry for the network entirely and start over:

    1. Open network connections (start > run > ncpa.cpl > OK)
    2. Right click on the wireless adapter icon and select Properties
    3. Click the "Wireless Networks" tab.
    4. In the list of "Preferred networks", look for the entry of your router, select it and click on the button Delete.  While you're here, you can as well delete the entries for other networks that you do not use.
    5. OK your way out
    6. Now, go to view wireless networks or view available networks, find your network and click on connect.

I need to get a certificate to continue using WI - FI how di I find the certificate?

    Original title: WiFi problem

    Hello

    1. who is the operating system installed on your computer?
    2. What is the exact error message that you receive?
    3. who is your Internet service provider?  Have you tried to contact them about this?

Follow the steps mentioned below and check if that helps.

Method 1: You can check if the router is configured for WPA and WPA2 connection:
    a. If the router is configured for WPA and the configuration of your wireless network on your computer must be configured the same way. That is to say, WPA.
    (b) if the router is configured for WPA2, then the configuration of your wireless network on your computer must be configured the same way. That is to say, WPA2.

Method 2: You can manually disable authentication IEEE 802. 1 x. Subsequently, re - enable authentication IEEE 802. 1 x and see if the problem still occurs.

I just install Window 7 Home Basic Edition as final Version was my HP Compaq nw8440 too slow. After installation, I am unable to find the drivers and all drivers available for Windows Vista. No driver VGA, No Finger Print etc. And the Internet is also working slowly well my connection giving the same speed. Please help me

    You are the very welcome.

I do not take up that simple...

Try the driver windows 7 for her at the link below and you will need the W7 software protect tools because I do not think the Vista software works.  Ditto for the quick launch buttons.

These drivers have been extracted from the 6910p who was the first series HP business notebook, support for windows 7 and the one that follows in the line after the nc6400 (the 14.1 "model of your screen).

  • Can not solve the problem "Windows could not find a certificate...". ».

I read through all the posts related to "Windows could not find a certificate...". "but still failed to get a solution for my problem.

Well, I have no problem with the installation of this modem to router Wireless G ADSL2 + for both my notebooks of Vista, they work perfectly.

However, I have difficulties with 2 other computers that move on the XP version. This version XP 2 PCs sometimes show the connection of the signal very strong to my network and sometimes simply shows "Windows could not find a certicate to connect to the network.

Even when it indicates strong signal to my network connection, I can still surf the internet/LAN.  Where is the problem?

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks for the reply.

Nonetheless, I have chosen the way easier and solved the problem.

Connect the network cables for these 2 not for PC XP update and they work just as perfect as my other 2 portable VISTA wireless.

    Scott,

When you check the status of the two tunnels of the CLI, check the following:

HS cry isa--> of his watch as active or QM_IDLE

HS cry ips his--> shows the packages encrypted/decrypted

The second tunnel does not properly come upwards, should ensure that policies correspond to the two ends of the tunnel.

If this second tunnel is started but does not traffic, we might have a problem NAT or routing.

    Federico.

Set not to use any proxy.
