  I plan to level 4.1 to 5.5 U2d vCenter on the customer site. One of the conditions set out in the vSphere upgrade guide is:

  "In vCenter Server 5.x, the default size for vCenter Server connects is larger than in vCenter Server 4.x. make sure that the disk space allocated for the log folder is sufficient for this increase 450MB."

  My question is how to allocate disk space for the log file and where can I find the disk space allotted to file papers to vCenter 4.1 existing?

  Just see the free space on the partition where the vCenter server logs are stored. If it is insufficient, increase the size of the virtual disk and then increase the file system to the guest OS.

  After watching a few reports more it turns out that the value of ready in the vRops report appear to be much higher than in vCenter.

  I made two screenshots that should tell more than any explanation.

• Machine virtual SQL & vCenter (easy points)

  Asked at a meeting today about our plan to upgrade to vSphere (ESX4).  Our biggest hold back is an expired SQL Server that can accommodate the vCenter DB.  We will set up a new SQL 2008 Server, I want to be single VM stand instead of the way we now installed it on the physical server vCenter.

  I need help...

  After watching an interesting info from VMware on PowerCli session, I realized that I could get IOPS / s (and other performance statistics) via PowerCli ESX servers.

  I had a script that goes to each VMhost (ESX) and request the disk.commands.summation for each VM and the data store.

  Then I could summarize these take medium and gives me a report on how would IO.

  I had to go directly to the ESX rather than through vCenter, as the standard vCenter level stats had disk.commands.summation in real time; and the ESX retains at least a day.

  Later, I noticed that I could upwards the level Stats and get the OPS are / s of vCenter for a week...

  But trying to get the statistics of vCenter (via PowerCli) I get nothing.

  I did a Get-VMhost | Get-StatType... and I see the stat... but when I do Get-VMhost | Type get-Stat - disk.commands.summation returns nothing...

  Can someone please... I would like to know the OPS are / s for each VM and the data store for the past week, so I can properly balance my data stores.

  Cannot find anything on your error. It is sometimes better to install standalone converter locally on the server that you are trying to convert. Then run the converter locally on your virtual infrastructure.

• Heartbeat vs Fault Tolerance

  My question is: if my license level includes the fault tolerance, couldn't accomplish the same protection of my vCenter server using FT instead of heart rate?
