• Satellite A110 PSABOE: after 9 months of use of overheating

  I have an A110 PSABOE who was very quiet during the first 9 months of use. It is now extremely noisy due to the fans, but also extremely hot.

  Maybe someone could be scared to see this issue for the first time, but to be honest it s not unusual after 9 months of use of the laptop.

  Fans may not turn with a maximum yield due to dust and debris inside the laptop.
  Usually the cooling modules will have to be cleaned from time to time to avoid these overheating problems.

  About a month or two before, for some reason, one day, all of a sudden I had no Audio whatsoever.  When I go to YouTube I get lists and can click on any video, the video comes and plays - but no sound!  I got the advice of onliners who know a LOT more about computers, I also tried my server (comcast) & never get direct responses (windows), if they respond at all (also use excuse that it is not on their end maybe try Dell, windows or Comcast) frankly, you're my last choice because I sent a couple of times and never had ANY response (s).  I hope that this time will be different.  It's no fun to have all these videos & not being not able to hear the songs their mouths are turning to.                        Thanking you in advance!    Patti T

  You get any audio at all - like the normal Windows and beeping sounds?  Which would decrease the chances that the problem is related to hardware (which could be like things).  Do you have a Dell?  If Yes, you can have a program included diagnosis (mine is activated by pressing F12 immediately after pressing the power on button) - and which allows to test the audio hardware (at least partially).  Another thing you can try is to download the drivers for sound card latest (compatible with your version of Vista) on the website of Dell (or the web site of the manufacturer of the card) and install it to replace what you use right now.  Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm.  Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html.
