Invalid windows key after the replacement of the motherboard
my Asus laptop has recently developed a problem and the service center advised me to change the motherboard and therefore the same thing has been done. But now I am not able to activate windows. Help, please.
Are you sure? I re entered the activation key that was on the sticker under the laptop and my windows activated!
If the original motherboard was faulty and replaced by an identical motherboard, the license reactivate without any problems which you have just referred.

Windows vista USB flash drive installation AND recover the WINDOWS KEY from the recovery disk
Hi all
I formatted my laptop some time ago. Now I want to reinstall windows vista (came along with my laptop). The thing is due to a problem that my CD drive does not work so I would like to install windows vista by using a USB key. Can you get it someone please let me know if this is possible... If Yes, how I've go ahead make a bootable USB.
As someone can tell me if there is a way to retrieve the WINDOWS KEY from the recovery disc.
Thank you.
Hello
This can help, but you will need a Vista system to create the working bootable USB key:http://www.askvg.com/how-to-create-bootable-usb-drive-to-install-windows-vista/
As for the product key, it should be on a sticker on the laptop (usually on the bottom). If it is not readable, contact the manufacturer for further assistance. As we said already, the product key is not on the installation disc.
Replace broken laptop optical drives is not too difficult, you can see this as another option.

Type Activate in the Windows 7 search box and click on the Activate Windows icon that appears at the top of the Start Menu. Then enter your genuine Windows 7 product key for the edition of Windows 7 you have installed. If you do not have a genuine Windows 7 product key, you can buy one on the Microsoft Store. Carey Frisch

The EULA allows to keep Windows XP after installation and activation of a retail upgrade to Windows 7?
I understand that the EULA (EULA) prohibits the USE of the operating system upgraded - must also be removed from the system?I intend to upgrade a pre-installed Windows Media Center 2006 on a Gateway computer to a level of detail to Windows 7 Pro 64 - bit. I am adding a new hard drive, as this case nears end of life... and plan to install the operating system upgraded to the new HD - because I have XP 32 bit to Win7-64 bit... and a "custom" installation is necessary, anyway.
This will result in an operating system XP on the old hard drive and the new OS Win7 Pro 64 - bit on the new drive. There have been suggestions that the answer to this question is simply to remove the "old" operating system, after activating the 'new' Windows 7. However - I see that any installation (or REINSTALLATION) of the operating system upgraded to Win 7 requires the previous XP to be "present on the computer.
QUESTION: as long as I don't 'USE' the BONE replaced/implemented to date, I am in compliance with the EULA? Alternatively, do I install "over" this Windows Media Player OS - on the old, due to lack of hard drive?
The Media Center EULA States: «...» "15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After you upgrade, you can no longer use the software upgrade of. ... ', but is silent (as far as I can find by reading the EULA on the question of if software upgrade HAVE to be 'destroyed'.)
(See: http://download.microsoft.com/Documents/UseTerms/Windows%207_Professional_English_7bb89e9f-20ea-4555-892f-394539ec1090.pdf "")
Thanks for your review (a reference to the appropriate Microsoft documentation would be nice too)
JohnYou said above, «...» "You will be able to upgrade to Windows XP, it is a qualification license... »
And I assume you are talking about my software Windows XP Media Center Edition (currently installed), as being a "qualification licence".
That is right.
Are we in agreement that a copy preinstalled OEM of Windows XP Media Center Edition IS extendable with a 'detail' update the license for Windows 7?
His qualification, but you can't make a real room upgrade, you can do a custom installation. See the previous post on how to migrate from Windows XP to Windows 7. An upgrade maintains the personal files, settings and installed applications.
I understand the ban on using the OEM OS software OR the upgrade replacement software on one computer other than the one on which it was originally installed by the OEM.
I also understand that I cannot use the "improved" XP Media Center software, once the upgrade of Windows 7 has occurred.
The rest to determine if it NEEDS to be deleted or replaced... you have no guidance on this issue?
Well, when you perform a custom installation, in essence, it is deleted or replaced. Then, it is part of the upgrade license. It's like it becomes a mind is more tangible, but always there as a base to which the upgrade license may exist on your system.

Although I can't find the ban against the "continued" it any where in the EULA.Thanks again,

The hard drive on the Macbook pro was repartioned, all the boot camp and other drivers updated and Windows installed from the installation DVD. All the Windows updates available from 2012 (installation disc is 2012) until today have been installed and Boot camp 5.1 with all its drivers installed. Restoration was launched with an image of an external hard drive and a system repair disc system. Once Windows loads after the login screen, it crashes. A blue screen appears with the error code 0 x 00000034 and mention cache_manager... Windows restarts by itself and I can only use it in safe mode, which means that I can't download or install upgrades or programs.
Analyze the dmp file since the first crash with Windows debugging tool showed that the problem seems to lie with
AppleHFS.sys and svchost.exe with Bug Check 34 {107, ffffffffc0000420, 0, 0}.
Here is the link to the complete analysis of the dmp for details file:

AppleHFS.sys/AppleMNT.sys are used to allow access to filesystems OSX JHFS +. Restoring Windows on Mac backups can be painful. If you have already fresh install of W7 on the internal drive, try the restore without installing any driver BC. Please be aware that such a restore is not aware of the partitions on your internal drive and can erase your internal drive.

I have windows xp after the installation of service pack 3 I can only start in safe mode
I have windows XP after the installation of service pack 3 I can only start in safe mode?
Hello
· You get the error message?
· What happens when you try to start in normal mode?
Method 1
Windows XP can in every start Safe Mode by default. Even if you select the option Start Windows normally, it always starts in Mode without failure. IOW, you can't get out of safe mode.
This happens if the switch/SafeBoot is added to the Boot.ini file. / SafeBoot parameter forces a boot in safe mode by using the specified parameters. The available parameters are:
(a) minimal
(b) network
(c) safeboot: minimal (alternateshell)
For more information about the boot.ini switches, see visualization and correction of the settings of the boot on x 86 systems
RESOLUTION
(a) click Start, run and type MSCONFIG
(b) click the Boot.ini tab
(c) If you have a dual-boot system, select the entry that is appropriate under the [operating systems]
(d) in section downstairs, Startup Options uncheck / hisFEBOOT
(e) click OK
(f) restart Windows
The entry/SafeBoot are removed from the Boot.ini file.
Method 2:
If the above method is not the cause, it seems that Service Pack 3 is not installed correctly.
Step 1: You try to run the system restore from safe mode that will repair return the computer to the point while it was working fine.

Original title: upgrade Windows 10
I made an iso file for windows 10. I am waiting to upgrade until all the bugs are being developed. My question is: will the iso file of windows 10 still work to upgrade my computer to windows 7 after the date limit to install the free version?
The ISO will work after the date limit, but you can buy Windows 10 after the date limit, if you don't improve and activate it before that date.
Windows 10 is delivered as a service:
Windows July 10 release - build 10240
Windows Update 10 November - build 10586 (with many updates depuis.13,.29,. 36)
If you want to take advantage of the free offer, you must do so before July 29, 2016.
If you the newer versions are released before then, you can always download and install when it becomes available.
You could also install it now then download updates via Windows Update as soon as they are available.
Task of pre-required
When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1
- How to back up and restore your files manually
- How to free up disk space in Windows
- How to: 10 tips before installing Windows 10
- How to: determine if a device application or hardware is compatible with Windows 10
- Will remain the documents and applications, or install app must
then
- How to download official Windows 10 ISO files
- How to: upgrade previous versions of Windows using the file ISO for Windows 10
then
- Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
- Reboot several times, and then try again.
- Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
- If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
- Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
- If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
- If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
- If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
- If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
- If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).

I can't access the files from an internal hard drive that has been converted to drive external hard after the motherboard is dead. I think that my files are still there, as shown in the volume of the player volume ~ 500 gb which is almost completely full. But I can't access most files, including documents and settings. When I took 'ownership' of the folder, I could open the TI but then it showed everything that was in my documents and settings on the computer file I used to open it, not the documents of the car.

Uhm... I think the issue here is a misunderstanding of what you watch.
If you want to access your files from the old hard drive - you need to look in the right place. If the old system was "Windows 7", "Documents and Settings" is the * wrong * place to look and "Users" would be the place to go.
You * will * take ownership and change permissions on ALL (you want to propagate to all subfolders/files when do - to save time) in order to get them properly.
New-->: Windows Vista/7 would have your files located in the directory 'Users' of the root of the drive - and then under your username.

\Desktop\ - \USERS\
\Downloads\ - \USERS\
\Favorites\ - \USERS\
\Documents\ - \USERS\
\Music\ - \USERS\
\Pictures\ - \USERS\
\Videos\
... etc...
Documents and settings to WIndows Vista/Windows 7 is a symbolic link and would lead to what you see if you tried to use it.

Touchsmart 320 computer: Activation of Windows 7 after the replacement of the motherboard
After that my PC has failed because the motherboard has been damaged by an electric shock, I replaced the motherboard in a Service of HP to the Chile. When I got back my PC it works fine, but after 1 week, it begins to show a message that says I need activate Windows 7. When I try to activate, it asks me the product key, but there is no place to find. After a few days it will lock up and I could ' t use more. I pick up the PC with recovery system and works very well the first days but again is asking me to activate Windows 7. Where can I get activation key for my Windows 7 original product? I want to continue to use my PC normally.
Thank you.
Greetings,
There should be a Microsoft COA 25 character sticker attached to your system.
Try the product on the certificate of Authenticity number.
You will need to contact HP for the service if there is no COA sticker.
It seems that HP did not tattoo the BIOS on the new motherboard with the correct information to auto activate the operating system.
See you soon!

Your replacement of the motherboard invalidated the (probably) the OEM license with which the machine has been installed by the manufacturer. You can buy an OEM license or a new retail license – if you're very lucky, you can even get a legal. MS sells more XP licenses - the only sources are likely to be auction sites where more than 50% of the sold software is counterfeit, so make sure you check the seller completely!
