Invisible files?

Hi all!

I had the bad idea to play a (former) game (NFS Porsche Unleashed) for a long time without launching "as Administrator".

When I want to make a backup of my stops, I was shocked NOT to find the folder SaveData in folder of the game.
2 mini software built to change the profiles to find the folder and my profile, but I can't leave my save from them.

When finally I launched the game as administrator, he had no profile at all. I have created a new and then a "SaveData" folder appeared, but my first profile wasn't in it?
Then I ran the 2 mini software "as an administrator", and in this configuration, they found that the profile that I created as an admin too, not my first single

So my game still work, I have my profile as long as I do not run the game as admin, but I'll lose everything I did as soon as I would like to uninstall the game.

I chose "Show all files" and UN hidden files protected, but nothing happened.

It won't change my life if I n 't find a solution :-) '.
But if somenone could help...

Dazz

PS: sorry for my bad English

Hi Dazz32,

Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of Windows Vista.

If you are an administrator of the machine and the game in Administrator account, avoid questions like these. However, it is not the case, then it may happen that you are not able to view all saved game data.

I will recommend you to contact EA games to check how get saved games saved. You can contact the given link:

    How can I identify the name of the invisible file for a backup file successfully to an external hard drive USB2 separate?  I use Windows Vista backup program (Service Pack 2), and I need to do backups plus two from other computers on the same external hard drive.  To do this, I think I would need to identify each backup file separate I know which file to specify if I need to do a restore.

    How can I accomplish this? • Invisible files? Why do some of my files become invisible?

    I create a file in InDesign. Save it by creating a new folder in creative cloud. Work on the file. Record. Make a PDF and send to the client. Customer has revisions. The file disappeared! When I search finder with the name of the file, it shows that this is exactly where I taped. I can open, edit, save a new version, make a new PDF. But when I navigate in the finder to the place where is supposed to be that he's not here. It is as if the life of file instead I put it, but it became invisible unless I search the name of the file. I can't see also there on the web for creative cloud. Anyone else having this problem?

    Hello

    First of all it is a bug and is documented at why I have 3 folders 'Creative Cloud Files'?

    We have worked hard to ensure that this does not happen with future versions of creative cloud.

    Looks like all your work in now in the Cloud Files (unknown) creative folder, you can copy it to the Creative Cloud Files regularly and keep the creative brief Cloud Files (unknown) as a return for the moment until your happy that all your work keeping them in the creative cloud.

  • isTraversable making the invisible files, rather than non-traversable

    I have some files stored in a folder (a kind of "composed" file) so when the user opens the folder it acts as a file. For now I draw his own little icon and stuff, everything works well except the user can 'double click' on the file and instead of opening it, they will go in there and see all the guts inside. I found the method isTraversable of the FileView object and makes half the job (other half would support double - click to open) However, when I try to use everything that I put no traversable becomes invisible. I guess that his work (I can't browse the file that isn't there), but I would like to be able to choose this file under its weight.
    public Boolean isTraversable(File f)
         {
              Boolean ret = super.isTraversable(f);
              if (QuantitationFileChooser.isQuantitationFile(f, false))
              {
                   ret= new Boolean(false);
              }
              return ret;
         }
    Am I missing to the point of this feature or something? It sounds simple enough, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong! The documentation says its exactly what I want:

    "public Boolean isTraversable (file f) if the directory is traversable or not." This can be useful, for example, if you want a directory to represent a compound document and do not want the user to descend into it. "

    Thanks for any help

  • Transferred between Skype PC and Mac invisible files

    Yesterday, I started having problems with Mac of Skype to Skype PC file transfer. File transfer will start immediately and shows full in my e-mail, but never appears in my e-mail contacts. Now, today, it does not work the other way, he tried to send me a file but it does not appear in my mail service. Normal messaging and voice calls work between us, but are not transfers of files.

    We are both updated to the latest version of Skype and have also rebooted and tried several times between the reboots and stops of Skype.

    Any ideas?

    It's working now. I turned automatically accept it files incoming and restarted again. Then all file transfers that we had tried started.

  • SSD full file scratches Invisible - PS CS5 Win10 32 GB RAM 500 GB SSD

    I use PS CS5 very strongly over the last two weeks. My config is Win10 1 - high range yo Intel i7 32 GB RAM 500 GB 3 GB mirrored RAID HD SSD.

    My 500 GB C: drive had been my scratch disk. PS crashed after starting every time. Error "full disc".

    By clicking on 'My computer' in the file Explorer shows 465 GB 465 GB are used on my drive C: of SSD, that is to say 100%, is used. After the removal of everything THAT I have, I now 15 GB free.

    After the opening drive C: and you add up all the files and folders (including the hidden) in root C: drive, I get about 150 GB of used space.

    Search told me that the PS CS5 scratch your files must be the culprit. In addition, despite the advice to use SSD zero drive even if it is also my boot drive, I just changed today on a hard drive 3 TB mirrored RAID because the SSD has filled with invisible files, likely CS5 scratch files. I searched files ~ PST # .tmp. None found.

    Re-optimized SSD and everything I could think of and everything I can find recommended.

    Please help me! I need space on my SSD back!

    Scratch files are normally deleted at the exit, but if the application does not close correctly they can be orphaned. An advantage of having separate zero PS, is that you can just delete everything in there if necessary.

    Aside from that, I suggest you watch in your user account. This is normally hidden to 'show hidden files' in your operating system. A lot of software (Photoshop, not only) dumping of massive amounts of data-hiding and extracts for most.

    You'll get a clue if folders as "Application Data" seems much more inflated than they should. Work systematically to limit.

    Most of these caches can be redirected in the application preferences (or just be deleted if you prefer).

  • Data on the iMac, but can not access the files.

    Hi all

    I have a iMac Core 2 Duo (3.33, 21.5 inches) since end 2009, running 10.6.8 Snow Leopard and I'm trying to recover some files that seem to be there, but I can not access it due to an update of the unfinished software.

    A few years back, I tried the Mavericks update using an external hard drive as the boot drive (at that time there I ran 10.6.7 Lion), installation is never ending and I accidentally deleted this file to start on the outside, so I ended up coming back to his moose BONE, 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.

    He seems to resemble a new install of Snow Leopard, except my old files (about 350 GB) still live on this subject, but I can not access all of the files, or does not even appear in the Finder.

    Would appreciate any advice or tips on how to do to recover my invisible files. Thank you!

  • Impossible to delete some false files

    They all have zero byte is just an empty file name.  My backup software (Carbon Copy clone and SuperDuper!) ill have to treat these files and often will not accomplish their scheduled backups.

    I tried different ways to remove force - empty the trash, even the "rm" CLI does not.  I can't change their names, I can't delete the "." which denotes invisibility, in short, except moving them from here to there, they cannot be renamed or deleted.

    I'd appreciate really any notice about it.  The terminal commands are not new for me.  See screen attached for a detailed look at some of these puppies.

    Thank you!

    Because these are all invisible files, you may need to turn off invisibility in order to remove:

    Select the Finder to display files and folders invisible

    Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder.  At the prompt enter or paste the following command line, and then press RETURN.

    write QLEnableXRayFolders AppleShowAllFiles TRUE

    Killall Finder

    To disable the display invisible files and folders enter or paste the following command line and press RETURN.

    write QLEnableXRayFolders AppleShowAllFiles FALSE

    Killall Finder

    You can also use one of the many third-party utilities such as TinkerTool or ShowHideInvisibleFiles - VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

  • Hidden files

    I wrote it in my Terminal words "hidden chflags" and got: chflags [-VHF] [r [h |]] L | -P]] flags file... does that mean? If it is not necessary could it be removed? How? Thank you.

    This means that the command has not been entered correctly.

    If you try to hide a file, you must set its path in the command.

    If you try to show or hide the normally invisible files, which is done with a different command.

  • is there a way to make a smart folder to hidden files in Picasa (or folders)?

    I know how to "unmask" the files on a Mac, but I was wondering if there was a way to make a smart folder of these hidden files. Specifically, I was looking to make a smart list of the original Picasa files that are usually hidden.

    You can add a criterion of visibility of the file. Is not a user of Picasa, I can't offer more specific advice.

    When you start a new smart folder, click on the button in the criteria section.

    Click on the button to select a category of criteria and choose another...

    Scroll the list (or using the search) to find the Invisible file. If you select and click Ok, it will serve as a criterion. If you want that this element added to the list of criteria, so you don't have to hunt for it with others, click the box "in the Menu.

    Combine this with some other criteria will be useful to isolate the original Picasa.

  • How can I prevent files are deleted from others?

    I have a Mac computer that is used in public, but I'm trying to secure a file to prevent others to remove it. And, if possible, I don't want anyone to open the files. I looked online for solutions; I looked on that you are supposed to put a password on it with a .dmg file using disk utility. I don't want to create a .dmg file, I want the folder itself must be blocked because it is used by other applications. How can I do?

    Hi, a useful recommendation is to make all of these invisible files, for that you will need to use the Terminal.

    Here are the instructions:

    Launch Terminal from/applications/utilities/and use the following command syntax:

    chflags nohidden /path/to/hide/file.txt

    If you know the path to the file just type yourself. If you do not, follow it drag & drop methodto automatically enter the full path in the Terminal, just be sure to file in after the original order and then press the return key:

    chflags hidden [DRAG FILE HERE]

    This will hide your folders or files.

    To view these files do:

    At any time you can view the file with the following chflags command:

    chflags nohidden /path/to/hide/file.txt

    This means that after the stop at using the computer enter these commands on the terminal and hide them. The user after that you won't be able to see them (unless he knows how to view the files, but in this case, it must be specifically looking for your files). And when you return simply enter the command to the unhide them.

    If there is a lot of files trying to group them all on a folder, and this folder hiding, which will automatically hide all content
