  I used my Vista 64 computer to edit video standard def captured by firewire for years. Now I'm trying to capture HDV over firewire. When the camcorder is connected and video output Standard DV, capture works very well (and your camcorder appears in the device under imaging devices Manager). • Tab problem ESXi 4.1 material

  My problem:

  When I click on the Hardware tab sometimes it displays information of sensors (of WORK) but sometimes shows service on that host to control the material not responding or is not available . I don't know why this is happening. I have over 80 ESXi hosts in this vCenter and 90% of them are in different countries (1 server in an office) and most of them have a problem with the Hardware tab. I'm sure it's based network because I have 10 knots and there is no problem because they are all in a datacenter.

  Increase timeout for the ESXi host with vCenter data collection?

  When it is connected directly the hardware data available in Configuration > hardware > State of health.

  A disconnection / reconnection retains performance (so no, if you choose the option remove) data.  If you try a disconnect, I'd start with a single host not in a HA cluster.

• ESXi 4.1 iSCSI Shared Datastore

  I'm under ESXi 4.1 with Windows Storage Server and iSCSI software targets three servers to store my data stores.  I've been using dedicated iSCSI LUNS for each ESXi server and it was working great (MPIO and RR is awesome too).  I am planning for disaster scenarios, and I wonder if there was nothing wrong with the help of a store of iSCSI data shared between servers.  I do not have vMotion, so I can't migrate directly from one host to another, but I installed a test data store and it spread over three ESXi servers.  I moved a virtual machine for the data store that is shared and I am able to add to the inventory on all three servers.  I can also start the virtual machine to any host, but its status (Powered On / Off / suspend) appears only in the home that I started in.  You see problems with this configuration?  I would like to share my stores of existing data with other hosts, so I can't add all virtual machines to the inventory on all servers.  Then I can implement a poor-mans vMotion and start the virtual machines from any host.

  There is absolutely no problem sharing a LUN between several ESXs iSCSI. In fact, this is used to create a cluster.

  You do not look to have a vCenter. I don't know, what if it's a good idea to have saved several guests at the same time isolated virtual machines. I'd say recording each virtual machine to a single host only.

  If you want to move a virtual machine, stop it, remove the host inventory, enter it on the new and start it.

  In case of crash, register the VMs failed for the remaining guests and start them.

  Hi, here is my situation. I'm a paramedic, but I go to school for the pc. This summer, I redid my pc and the network and now find myself in a bit of a pickle. I currently have a quad core 8g of ram and esxi 4.0 installed pc. Lots of storage as well.  I need to do a bit of Jules Destrooper 1. Download running windows server, this can be done virtually. I also need to be able to 'use' the pc that sound on.  This pc is the one of my workshop small pc. Can I run a virtual machine over the esxi I think it's what I do.  I would have rather esxi control the wealth that the servers virtual execution from within a windows or linux environment.

  This pc is under construction for the future and I need advice for a home user advances but not so much of a business user.

  If I understand you correctly, you need at least 2 PC to make it work:

  1. the ESXi server that hosts your Windows Server and all the other virtual machines that you have running

  2. a machine running XP or Vista that allow you to control the ESXi server and virtual servers running on it using the VMWare Client software.

  Once your server is running, you can open ports on your firewall to make it available on the web or remotely on your DSL or another connection. But you will still need at least another machine to do things like SSH, web access, remote access, etc.

  To give you an idea, I have an ESX 3.5 Server some turnkey Linux Virtual Appliances. If you connect in the VMWare client, you can change all the settings at the level of the ESX servers.

  But if you use a SSH client or web client-based, you can go directly in the Linux itself and make adjustments to the level of the BONE.

  In both scenarios well I'm coming from another machine.

  If you are using only one machine, you need a workstation configuration. On my laptop, I run XP then VMWare Workstation 6.5. From there, I have a Ubuntu 9 and Windows 7 virtual machines, I can run.

  You can't do a Capture over FireWire, but you should be able to drop the miniDVD in the drawer of your multi player. This small cavity must fit perfectly.

  I copy the content on your HARD drive and not import directly from the miniDVD. The screening of the project should be a DVD/HDD camera. Don't remember exactly the syntax, but who will get your correct field order.

• Problems with the Firewire Audio Interfaces

  I use a Presonus Firebox for all of my recording and playback. I just bought a new pc HP with Vista64 and I had problems with my audio since then. Symptoms include random audio dropouts, crackling sounds when you scroll through the menus in my software, no noise at all from windows media, no windows generally sound player. Everything works sometimes, but inevitably fails. Once the audio is de-energized my only solution is to restart the computer, and then it still doesn't work sometimes. I don't understand. My last computer was a couple of years and built the hand. It worked perfectly with this unit until the motherboard is dead after what I bought my new HP desktop with terrible results. The main difference between my pc and this one is that I was using XP and XP64. However, I have the right drivers for the home and the computer recognizes it but I can't operate consistantly and correctly. This new HP has more power than my last, and more then enough power for my needs recording software. I would like to know, I've been recording music on PC for 8 years. Any advice would be welcome.

  I am now convinced that the long nightmare is finally over. I tested my home over and over again with no failures. Record and playback midi seem to work perfectly. Here's what I did:
  
  1 optimized my computer for audio streaming using the guide written by sweetwater.com.
  
  2 uninstall all the drivers from Presonus and all software, including the removal of all PreSonus files on the registry using the instructions provided by the technical support of PreSonus.
  
  3 disabled WLAN and then physically disconnected from the motherboard.
  
  4. my computer has two firewire ports. The front port was connected to the motherboard via a short cable. I physically unplugged the cable from the motherboard.
  
  5. I bought an Express(1x) PCI firewire 400 card with a Texas Instruments chipset. The exact brand is inner Pro PCI Express(1x) 4 port 1394 a. The firewire card is a power port. I plugged the power jack on the same line, connected to the DVD player. I don't know if it's important, but I'll try to document EXACTLY what I did. The firewire card requires no driver work. It came with a disc with a B.S. video editing software I was not installed.
  
  6. I turned on my computer and disabled the built-in firewire in Device Manager, leaving only the new active firewire card.
  
  7. I installed the drivers from the Firebox from the original disc supplied with my unit (v1.20.0). I had good results from these pilots in the past that may be because I use XPsp2.

In some cases, the iMac restarts, but the ProjectMix disappears from the audio devices available in the preferences of Ableton (it disappears also the about this Mac > system report > Firewire) and is unusable for this purpose.

  Now, I discovered that the M-Audio drivers are not compatible with Yosemite and El Capitan, so I thought for sure that was the problem, then I followed a tutorial on how to make it work in El Capitan, but it's the same thing and my question has not reflect issues, other owners of ProjectMix had with El Capitan and they've all got to work using tutorial. However, I thought that the best thing to do would be to take the iMac to a State that was compatible with the M-Audio for the ProjectMix drivers, so I went back to the Mavericks, installed the drivers, open to Ableton Live, and it's the same thing.

  During this time I also tried using different firewire, resettlement of the different versions of Mac OS x cables, reset the SMC, reset PRAM, you know, all the usuals.
