  I have canon handycam dvd and mini dvd works on it. A month back I recorded the movie and photos on mini dvd with handycam and ran mini dvd on my tecra M5 player, it worked very well.

  Now after 1 month, I have 5 mini DVD with movies and photos that I took for 1 month of vacation country of diffierent, I tried my best but tecra dvd player does not read these mini dvd, label appears instead dvd player cd player when I put the mini dvd in there.

  All the other standard size DVD, CD works good about it. Its complex and as well as irritating.

  Seems that the lens cannot read this miniDVD s. Maybe cannot calibrate the lens of the drive and the miniDVD is so illegible.
  Try the sascha. Maybe you are a lucky man, and it works.
  If this is not the case, try to remove the drive physically from the laptop. Restart the laptop without the drive. The BIOS and Windows shouldn't t recognizes the drive.
  Then stops again, put the drive in the notebook and the startup of the device.
  The laptop should recognize the drive and must indicate the firmware again.

  You cannot use "disc" in your CD/DVD slot drive. Inserting a disc of "mini" in the drive can cause permanent damage to the drive.

  If you cannot copy files normally, try to copy guest rather using Xcopy command.

  1. click on start, principally made programs, click Accessories and then right-click on command prompt, click Run as administrator.
  2. type the following command line and press ENTER. In the command line, drive is the letter of the CD drive or DVD drive.

  xcopy drive:-*. * /s > c:\test1

  See if that helps to successfully copied the files on your hard drive.

• Creation of 190 min DVD

  I have a 190 minute avi file I want to burn to DVD.  I have 8.5 GB DVD + R, but the software says I don't have enough space.  I created the DVD on the PC using this type of DVD but nothing this big (created 138 minutes DVD).  How to adjust settings on the front so he realizes I have a larger 8.5 DVD compared to the standard 4.7?

  I do a lot of work with DVD-9 (DL/8.5 GB) and can adapt ~ 240 minutes. on one, with acceptable qualtiy, but had to admit that I've never created a forward. I use Adobe Encore, which comes with PrPro.

  What follows is speculation on my part shere: pre makes a great part of it was created automatically, and many possible settings are "behind the scenes", so that the user doesn't have as much control, as in a complete application. Transcoding bit rate is established by the GER and will be VBR 2 pass. The only entry that the user has is through a quality slider, rather than join the exact numbers. The bitrate determines two things: quality and file size, that is how compressed the file MPEG-2 result will be. If you said before that your destination is a DL/DVD-9 (8.5), and it is throwing an error of "too little space", about everything that you can do is to lower the quality. PrE (as yet) has a minimum flow, which will allow, which should be about 2.5 MB/Sec. If you have adjusted the quality down and still do not have the hardware, I second suggestion of Steve for DVD Shrink. Normally, it would burn to the folder and then run these files through DVDShrink, but I do not think that PrE allows you to choose a custom paper size, greater than 8.5 GB, so I see a potential problem. A possible solution would be to use a complete application, which allows for a custom destination size, / the share of exports of pre as a MPEG-2 and then import them in the creation of the app., where the Menus and navigation would be to do. Then, the files and folder DVD would be released, and that would be used for DVD Shrink to squeeze more space. I had to do similar off again, where I had more that would take on a DVD-9, but only by a bit. DVDShrink me is that squeeze extra, and then I was able to adapt the material. However, with still being able to manage ~ 240 minutes. duration on a DVD-9, I don't have need of this workflow, but a very short time.

  I'm surprised that pre has difficulty to 190 minutes of editing. on a DVD-9. You assured that you set before for a 8.5 GB disc? Have you set the quality slider down and tested?

  Good luck and maybe others, which the author of DVD - 9 in pre can consistent with the exact measurements, and durations that have worked well for them. I'm a little loss in this area.

• Capture camera mini DVD?

  I have a client with a dvd of the mini of Panasonic and Sony cameras.  I was able to copy the images and rename the .vob to .mpg and edit files, no problems.  About 15 of the 50 disks have problems.  I'm racking my brain on workarounds to capture images.  Some of the discs will play on the cameras they record to.  I tried to take the records directly to my computer from the camera to a stand-alone dvd recorder with a bit of luck.  Is it possible to capture video via camcorder using the USB on my computer?  Would this work if I had a drop cable and used the av cables into my computer with first?  Other creative ideas?  I think this media is a bit dodgy and happy it seems to be obsolete.

  Perfect... I thought, it took 2 days to return the clips to the maximum depth and quality, and when I get the final files in still, it adds only upward to about 3 GB! Poor estimate on behalf of PPr... still 1.5 GB of quality missing I need to capitalize on...

  I'm new to PE9 and I cannot bring widescreen widescreen video of finalized DVDs from my Sony DCR - DVD 308 in format.  The video on the handhelds is wide, but when I bring it in PE9, it opens a dialog box for the importer of video, I get the mismatch warning and he brought as a standard video format.  I tried several different presets, including 'NTSC-Hard Disk, memory Flash as Sony DCR camcorders' but to no avail.  The video that comes is always the standard proportions.  What I am doing wrong?
