  Your problem is with the writing of the destination for the import permissions - a question of OS. Search the forum for the (exact) error message, and you will find hundreds of messages explaining the problem and how to fix it.

  Photos imported very well and were then not.  I managed to import from the hard drive and memory card.  I have a LR5 upgrade and have always LR4 that matters from the memory card.

  With a Home button defective there little that can be done. The first step would be to get the House fixed, but if the iPad is old, it may not be worth it. Good luck.

  Sometimes I could start the song by disconnecting the load-data cable in and out and could start/stop the song just by touching the tip body lightening metallic iPad! Not always Though.That was obviously the more strange.  Reading will be done with or without headphones being plugged.

  This is what I discovered and thought I was close a couple of times, but no luck.

  I admit that I did read your entire post, but there are only a few things that can be done. I will list in order.

  Reset.

  Restore from a backup.

  Restore as new.

  Reset: hold the Home and Power buttons until you see the Apple logo (15 to 20 seconds).
