IPhone 5s on BELL Canada

like many, I have also screwed on a purchase of the iphone, but of course I started to read about it later... I bought an iPhone 5 used from someone on Usedregina.com

They mentioned in their announcement that the phone is with BELL and it can be unlocked! I bought the phone as a gift for my wife and started the unlocking process by calling BELL. First, they said they will talk only of the account holder, and because I didn't have the BELL account, don't talk to me. I managed to get hold of the owner and she called them. I do not know what conversation they had, but I still unlocked phone with me. I tried to go to third party to unlock that they couldn't do it anymore because they believe the previous owner; s account is NOT yet CLEAR. Means that they pay the balance or left until BELL unlock this phone! Now, I'm stuck with this useless piece of technology... don't know what to do? I can't get my hands on the former owner (of course). I understand that this question cannot be linked to APPLE, but I thought that maybe someone is are crossed this situation.

If I decide to return to BELL and to use their mobile services, you think I can get this phone unlocked? OR is it tied up for previous owner forever?

Thank you

Return it and get your money back. There is nothing that anyone can do about it. ONLY the carrier that it has locked may authorize to release. If they refuse, you're completely out of luck. If the previous owner jumped on their Bill, there is a good chance that you may not even use it with Bell at this point. They probably have blacklisted it.

I bought a 6 iPhone s price full apple.ca store and it is unlocked and without a SIM card.

I put it in an old Bell Canada SIM to activate the phone and now it is locked to Bell so I can't use it with other carriers.

To unlock, Bell wants to find me someone who is a Bell customer and pay $50 unlock tax which is basically a ransom because I never signed anything with them and have never given my consent to lock my phone to them in the first place.

Bell said in the Canada, your phone will get locked to the first carrier used and it would be the same with Rogers for example and by their internal policy, they will unlock only the phones of their clients. How to practice.

Someone at Bell is wrong or lying. An iPhone purchased directly from Apple as unlocked, must not locked to ANY carrier. Despite the Bell news, I would contact Apple to make sure that you received exactly what you ordered.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones new OS release Date? -Bell Canada

Just curious to know if anyone knows where Bell Canada will publish an update of the OS?

I expect to Telus and Bell day shortly after that Verizon releases the update (Telus and Bell generally do these things a bit behind everyone it seems), so if Verizon gets in a week or two, Telus and Bell is probably get a few weeks later (I hope).

If you try one of the leak (and therefore unsupported operating systems), you should be aware that Telus and Bell will not support the device.  Or if you try upgrading to the version from Verizon on your Bell phone, same thing.  If you have a problem, go back to the operating system from Bell (currently 4.7.0.76) to see if that solves the problem, if so, great, if not, you can then switch to using your provider.

  • Bell Canada Cup Outlook e-mail on iOS

Email Bell has just been 'improved '.

You're not can connect through Microsoft to access their web mail services.

    But there's collateral damage.

Bell removed the functionality of the Outlook (for iOS) software application.

Can no longer access the @bell.net or sympatico.ca e-mail services - you cannot send or receive emails using Outlook on your iPhone / iPad.

It is a step back as Outlook seems to be an email client far superior than the mail on iPhones and iPads.

Suggestions as to how we, Canadians can influence Bell for restore Outlook e-mail services?

If not, is there another alternative for Mail for iOS?

    Thank you very much!

    ... John

I don't know how Bell could do that. They seem to use POP and IMAP standard, settings that can be used with any modern e-mail like Outlook application client.

How do you know that's not possible?

  • Backflip: no data on Bell Canada to all please doesn't help?

Hello! I just got my backflip via eBay - first very new smartphone, so please help! I unlocked it received a SIM from Bell (to Canada), activated, directs a data plan and they tell me that it's working. They also told me that the backflip fulfilled all conditions for their network. I can use it for phone, text, email and web via wifi without problem, but it does not seem be any data at all! I've never seen a flag State G, Edge, or 3G. I tried to turn wifi off and turning phone off & on. Under order settings, wireless, mobile networks, the operator, research networks selection it will show BELL four times as available networks. If I click on that it shows "Network with Limited Service found. You want to start the search network? "If I say yes or no, I get no results. I tried on several days in different areas with the same result. Can anyone help? Thank you. If I call Bell, they say just that it's not their phone so that they are not responsible.

Choice of operator must be set to automatic. You need to make sure that you have the settings correct data under the APN (Access Point name) settings. Bell will have a certain domian, password, etc., which they use to access the data. When you talk to them just tell them you have their APN settings.

  • Problem with Activation of Smartphones from blackBerry due to an update on the network (Bell Canada)?

    Hey guys, first post here.

I'm from my tour of BB, excellent camera and everything. I live in the Canada and I'm with Bell. When I had the clerk told me that he would be activated within 24 hours. After the call to return the next day because it never happened, I had to appear in the store and the lady told me that because 'they' (she was talking about Bell or Blackberry? Not sure) had updated the network for blackberry devices all activations that subsequently spent going through.

She told me that they were aware of the problem and I should have my operational service within 48 hours.

I wonder if you guys know something she doesn't. Is this true? Is there really a bug with the system and the BB devices with the Bell network or she didn't know what was going on the devil?

    Thanks in advance!

    Simon

    Thanks for the reply,

I ended up having to set myself up with technical support on my landline... The Lady at the store screwed to the top of all of this, mix 2 numbers in my phone number and my phone how to associate a plan obsolΦtes that never been used on blackberry devices, never... go figure.

Now, everything is smooth. Thanks for me! ;-)

  • BlackBerry Smartphones maps - users of Bell Canada applications

My Storm has no maps application installed. I tried to download "BlackberryMaps", but the site says that it is not compatible with my phone.

Someone at - it information about an application of free or cheap cards? (I tried the Garmin maps and it works AOK, but costs $100 per year)

I have BB Maps on my Storm with Bell.

First on your BB home screen, select the Applications folder.  On my BB maps is presented as the first icon.  If you don't find it after scrolling in the folder Applications, then perhaps the Maps application has not been installed.

To install the app, pull up the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, connect BB using the USB cable, click on Application Loader, and then click Start in Add/Remove Applications.  Scroll through the list and make sure that there is a check mark next to BlackBerry Maps.  Otherwise, the check, click Next and continue to install the application.  If it isn't already, then perhaps your BlackBerry Maps app was accidentally moved to another folder on your BB.  You will have to hunt to find it.  Or you could try installing it and then reinstall and it should appear in the application folder.

    See you soon

  • Apple Mail & IMAP Bell of intermittent problems of connection and synchronization

I had Bell (Canada) mail for years and has implemented the server IMAP end of 2015 but just 2-3 weeks ago I started having problems with my iPhone and Macbook, mailboxes remaining in harmony.

If I delete a message or move it to a folder, it may or may not do on the other device, or on the Web page of @bell.net for mail. He will sometimes move but leave the message as 'read' in the Inbox on other devices.

Also I see mail on the Macbook sometimes happen and then moments later disappear but still be on the phone.

I am also getting intermittent messages:

don't arrive on iPhone6 - mail. The imap.bell.net mail server is not responding. Check that you entered the correct email account information in Mail.

on Macbook using Mac Mail - Server returned the error: connections to the imap.bell.net on the default ports server has expired.

These messages may appear for a few minutes, and then it checks mail very well. Very random and intermittent.

Crazy. I spoke with tech support several times in recent weeks, nothing helps. All the settings are correct and updated test / verified several times. Anyone else having this problem? They seem not to be aware of this...

  • Can I switch from Sprint to Verizon with my new 6 s iPhone?

I already know that I have my iPhone unlocked by Sprint for what I might want to do, but I'm afraid that CDMA differences do not only allow the switch.

A few weeks ago I got the side window of the driver of my broken car on and they stole my 6 +.  The replacement company quickly sent me a new phone but did not have the 6 + 128 they upgraded me to a 6 s + 128 in only 2 days.  It was great.  Sprint also unlocked my phone for international use the day after that (like my 6 + was also because I do not travel internationally and sometimes quite unexpectedly.)

I realize that there is a completely different service for unlocking a phone on the internal market and I have not attempted only in part because the device was not on the network for 50 days.  It's very well because my Sprint plan does not end before October so I'll just wait until there to switch to Verizon.

I would like to use my iPhone with me to Verizon, but I don't know if CDMA on the new phones of world model 6s are more compatible than were the 'old'.  I know that iPhones for a few years who were enslaved to Sprint had a slightly different nomenclature number due to the requirements of the Sprint network, in fact, is this always true?

I'll be able to unlock my iPhone Sprint to the Canada and permission to use it on the Verizon network when my contract ended in October?  I own the phone outright.  I paid for it in full when I started with Sprint (even if it was 6 and I bought this new 6s + technically.)  I bought it through Sprint and not to an Apple Store.

Ask the carrier seems sometimes your cdma system does not bring your own phone when it is not so much a technical related question or apple

I know there is another post on this subject, but there are no answers that are either so I thought I would put up a new post.

    Thank you all!

    Thanks for the help guys!

    @riccio

This update (4.1.57) is for AT & T only. This update is not currently available also for Bell Mobility. We will provide details if an update is available for Bell Canada. The update method may vary, but we like to do Over the Air updates as much as possible.

If you have a phone unlocked from AT & T you get the update if you are using official factory installed software. If you have changed the software of your phone in any way he can make it difficult to update.

  • Opinion and experience blackBerry Smartphones Priv

I have just been offered a lot of things on a private with a contract of 2 years on Bell (Canada) - I like her look, feel, and build the device but did not work or had comments from other users...

So before I sign up a map of two years... any who would care to share their user experience on things like ease of use, security updates, using the software Android etc etc.

Any valid opinion from real users (not word of mouth) would be greatly appreciated.

Although this site is excellent for maintenance problems, I suggest going to CrackBerry.com and visit the private forums.  you will find people out there who love and hate the camera see both sides.

If you decide to search on the Internet for comments, I suggest the search only to those who have reviewed or updated their review for AFTER THAT the massive updated dec 7.

It's my first Android device and I've never owned an iPhone and this is my opinion:

I like the customization of Android.  If there is something you want your private to do, there will be an app for that.  The problem is that there are so many apps in the choices it can be overwhelming.  The hub is missing compared to the BB10 but it works well enough for me. This leads me to say that in regards to ease of use, the Priv is VERY easy to use if you take your time to find the right combination of applications to do what you want.  It may take you a few days or even weeks of game on internet/forum/store of research before you find the applications you need, but well worth the effort.

From what I've heard, coming from a PKB BB10, you will have problems of adaptation to the PKB Priv, but if you give it some time, you get used to it.  I'm a Z30 to Priv, the PKB last I had was for a long time with the cursor of the torch.

If you are using BES or ActiveExchange there are a few problems, you will need to browse the forums to find those.

I have nothing to say regarding the security that I've never been hacked before EVER on any phone, so this phone seems as secure as any other so far.

That said, there is always something things BB10 with its native applications that I still can not properly replicated on Android. I have used my many Z30 for audio and video with my BT headset and I love how easy to use applications BB10 stocks were.  You cannot use the private volume buttons to change track.  One thing that REALLY miss me on Priv BB10 did was when I had apps music and video open, when I press play on my BT button, the video player would play while he was in the foreground.  Moreover, if the screen is locked or the video player was in the background, my BT headset controlled music.  In my mind, it's so simple yet so genius.  Also, I liked being able to respond to toast notifications directly by tapping it on BB10, against the opening of the application by tapping on a toast in Android.  I know there are a few applications that you can answer to toast notifications, but they are pretty ugly compared to BB10.
