  How can I get an inventory report with the correct serial number for each device that is necessary for a maintenance contract?  In fact, I would have preferred a way to do with the REST API, but a report will work.

  Many things should be at PI, but aren't. This is one of the reasons why there is no compelling market share, even in stores all-Cisco.

  He made a few near things very well everything is strangely unable to do other seemingly simple things that are looking for the many shops of their network management tool.

  That said, you can get the details of the inventory of the REST API, although I don't have scripting skills to analyze it automagically.

  And who will list on all individual devices in your inventory of PI. In every detail of the device page will be a whole host of information, including the serial numbers of the devices (even including all members in the stacks of the switch).

  You can also run a report through "reports > report boat launch > device > detailed Hardware > new detailed material" and get a list of all of your devices, including serial numbers.

  Or we will say automatically that you status of the contract of service however.

• Can I upgrade IOS versions legally, without a maintenance contract?

  Some of my devices have no maintenance, as we use them for spare parts.   Can I update IOS without violating the agreement of the end user?

• License on Cisco IDS 4215 box

  I have IDS 4215 (version 4) works fine for 2 years. All of a sudden I could not access the IDS4215 via the console or telnet last month. I rebooted it, but there is no change.

  Then we get the ROMMON prompt via CTRL-R. We performed procedures "Installation image of the system IDS-4215. We have installed version 5. So, we lost the old license for IDS 4215 ver 4. How can I get old license?

  We want to make the 4215 IDS to work with version 5 and the latest signatures. What should we do in this regard?

  It wasn't a license file in ver 4.

  Licenses were introduced in ver 5.

  Licenses are included as part of your Cisco Service for IPS maintenance contract.

  To see if you have a contract to day just go in the license of IDM configuration page and click on the button to say IDM to check cisco.com for a license.

  If she comes back with a license while your contract is up to date and everything is good.

  If she does not return with a license, then probably you don't have a Service Cisco IPS service contract for your sensor.

  Your Cisco or an authorized Cisco reseller sales Reprentative contract and request a quote for Service Cisco IPS contract for your sensor.

  Don't forget to give them the serial number of your sensor when you buy the contract so it is followed correctly in the database of contract of Cisco.

  One of my clients is looking into getting an ASA5510 with module AIP - SSM. I realize that with IDS/IPS systems, it is * essential * to keep files up-to-date signatures. Buying me the Smartnet contract for the bundle gives updates signature files, or is there another package that I need to buy?

  I see references to the "Cisco Services for IPS", but this seems to be mainly for routers/IOS firewall/IDS packages.

  There is not a Smartnet contract for the ASA/AIP-SSM bundle.

  The only contract SmartNET SSM packages with the CSC - SSM and not the AIP - SSM.

  When buying a bundle ASA/AIP-SSM, you'll need to buy a package maintenance contract. Package maintenance contracts are Cisco Service for the IPS markets and include the support of signature for the AIP - SSM and the software and hardware in support of ASA and AIP - SSM (software and hardware support, is what it is normally part of SmartNET).

  Packages you will need to purchase a maintenance contract Service Cisco IPS using one of the formats following part numbers:

  CON-SUw-ASxAyKz

  The 'w' will be 1,2,3 or 4 depending on the level of service.

  The 'x' will be either 1 for the 5510, 2 for the 5520 or 4 for the 5540.

  'Y' will be 10 for the AIP-SSM-10 or 20 for the AIP-SSM-20.

  The z will be 8 or 9 depending on the level of encryption.

  Thus, for example:

  CON-SU2-AS2A20K9 - would be 8 X 5 X 4 support for the ASA 5520 bundled with the AIP-SSM-20 with the top encryption.

  NOTE: There is also SP contracts for purchase by service providers who follow a slightly different format.

  There are a few users who have purchased the ASA and the AIP - SSM separately.

  When purcahsed separately you would need to purchase a contract SmartNET for the ASA and a separate Department of Cisco for IPS for the AIP - SSM maintenance contract.

  Maintenane AIP - SSM contract will be in the following format:

  CON-SUw-ASIPyK9

  The 'w' will be 1,2,3 or 4 depending on the level of service.

  'Y' will be 10 for the AIP-SSM-10 or 20 for the AIP-SSM-20.

  Thus, for example:

  What you find is that buying a separate SmartNET for the ASA and Service Cisco IPS for the AIP - SSM will be more expensive than buying a single Cisco IPS's Service to the ASA/AIP-SSM bundle. This is because there is a discount when buying by the beam.

• Service contract for codec status listed as unknown in TMS

  Hi all

  We have a Cisco MX200 we recently installed and we bought 3 years maintenance contract to the unit by our partner Cisco.  TMS currently appears the contract status of maintenance/service as unknown codec.  We checked the codec with Cisco via the Cisco partner, they are registered and we have also received the contract number for the unit.  However the TMS still shows unknown status.

  The partner said that they have rerequested the registration of the contract of maintenance/maintenance with Cisco, but still do not get any update on MSDS.  All other registered codecs are their contract maintenance/maintenance OK status.  Advice please on how to get this problem is resolved.

  Hi David,

  Open a TAC case and provide the serial number of the device to the TAC and they will be successively illuminate the case with Cisco HIM who is responsible for these type questions. The registration database for this device must be updated.

• AIP - SSM 10 Signature Update license?

  Hi every one.we had an AIP - SSM 10 for our asa5520.actually it is bundle asa5520 + AIP-SSM10. (part number ASA5520-AIP10-K9 =)

  (1) I want to know that if we want to improve our signature aip - ssm we get the Services Cisco IPS download signatures or not with this number of pürt we get it too!

  (2) in the case and we must get the Cisco IPS services separately so where can I find a reference number for the services of this?

  (3) what license that must be installed on the sensor activation? If we get the Cisco Services for FPS then we receive license activation for installation on sensor too? or not if not, can we install signatures on a sensor that it has not been activated yet? guess we can get a few signatures how! (I know JOINT-2 we cannot install any license until the license is installed on the sensor.) Thank you

  CON-SU1-AS2A10K9 would be the correct contract to put all the pieces of the boot under the maintenance contract.

  CON-SU1-ASIP10K9, this is what is used when the AIP-SSM-10 are purchased as spare.

  I don't know if yes or no this Service Cisco IPS contract can be used to cover only the AIP-SSM-10 if it was purchased as part of a package instead of a spare part. You will need to ask your reseller or Cisco sales representative.

• Installation of IDS OS on hard disc

  I have an IDS 4230 FE and downloaded the software following cisco IDS-42XX-K9-r-1.2-a-4.1-1-S47.tar.pkg, but I am unable to install this on my IDS sensor. Does anyone know how?

  This package will not install on a blank hard drive. It can be used only to convert existing recovery partition a race application partition.

  You will need a recovery CD and will have to start from the CD.

  To get a CD you would need an active Service Cisco for IPS contract of maintenance on the sensor, and then you can order the CD from recovery of $0.

  Understand that the IDS-4230 is not supported with version 5.0 and higher versions of IPS. It is supported only in respect of the IDS 4.1. And is no longer supported for new updates of Signature IDS 4.1.

  I'm not sure it's worth spending your time to get a picture of version 4.1 ID running on your sensor IDS-4230.

  Just make sure it is an IDS-4230 and not an IDS-4235. The IDS-4235 is a more recent and updated signing day always cared for and received.

  You would still, however, need a Cisco Service to date for the maintenance contract of IPS for the sensor to obtain the latest updates for the sensor.

  I understand that when you tried to start your laptop, you received an error message that the "Startup he Configuration data file contains no valid information for an operating system. File: \BCD. Error code: 0xc0000098.

  This refers to your master boot record and it became corrupted.

  You can try doing a repair first.

  Here is a link to HP - computers perform a recovery of the system (Windows 10) HP.  Under maintenance contract, you should be able to reach a command prompt with admin rights.

  At the command prompt

  Type bootrec /fixmbr and press enter "."

  When it is finished type bootrec /fixboot and press enter

  Once complete type bootrec/rebuildbcd and press ENTER.

  If that did not help, I will try to reinstall Windows 10 with a clean install.   If it was an update and you did it directly on the web I suggest to create a multimedia tool and install it.

  Download tool for creating Windows Media 10.

  The laptop comes with Windows 10 could you perform a recovery to factory.  If it is not that the process will return the laptop back to the factory setting including the operating system.  You must make your Windows and HP updates updates before re-installing Windows 10. • Help with DVD and CD ROM msg needs Attention

  Never seen this message before when running VAIO Care a click but under maintenance contract section DIAGNOSTICS EQUIPMENT VAIO
  I have 2 separate messages which read DVDROM requires Attention and money he needs attention CDROM both with the yellow triangle of 'warning '. The message say absolutely nothing more to this topic or suggest a fix now button or link info more and I don't know what that may be the problem (s) or where to start even. I do not see this question discussed everywhere here and nothing of value comes from google either. Please help me made in the right direction.

  For some reason any today I could not print from my macbook on my HP PS C7280 wireless printer. I removed the printer and tried to re add it, but for some reason, I can't re add it.

  Someone would be kind enough to help me re - add my printer. I am running OSX 10.6.2 SL.

  I downloaded and installed the latest drivers from HP website.

  OK, if you don't have not upgraded the firmware in your router lately, we'll do it.

  Open your browser and type the IP Address of the router: 192.168.1.1.  The login is "admin" and the password is "password".

  The router must go out and look for an update automatically.  If it is not the case, go to the menu to upgrade the router under Maintenance contract on the left side of the window.

  Let me know how it goes.

• Bug in the game of hearts win percentage

  Played 400 games. 332 won. Win rate is 57%, which is wrong. 332/400 is exactly 58%.

  The misrepresentation of the win percentage is not a big problem, but there seems not to be a direct round bug.

  If the bug is in the software of hearts, then it is probably benign. If it is in a system library, or somehow related to the platform, then it might be a more serious problem.

  As much as I know, hearts is not under active maintenance contract, but it would be nice if someone at Microsoft check source code and identify the root cause.

  P.S. I have a screenshot that shows the bug and my guess is that it is reproducible on other systems.

• Error 1 full (305) hard drive with dv6-6119tx - is it worth to replace the HARD drive?

  I bought the mobile entertainment HP Pavilion dv6-6119tx (QB365PA) in July 2011. The specifications are - processor: Intel Core i5 - 2410M, integrated RAM DDR 3 4 GB, HDD: 640 GB (Toshiba) operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium x 64

  Since I bought this machine it has been giving me problems in time. First webcam died within the first 2 months, then the DVD recorder failed then it was the keyboard and finger print sensor. There were several problems with the installation of microsoft update. Six months ago, I replaced the 6-cell battery. I bought a costly maintenance contract for the second year, given the number of aging I met within the first year of use. Apart from the battery which was of course not covered under the contract, I had no other problems in the 2nd year. And just as this contract expired in August of this year I started facing problems, I got BSOD on two or three occasions. After each incident system booted normally and everything was fine except the Device Manager indicates problems with infrared devices consumers. The problem seems to have exploded on its own. Then since the past two months, my computer started freezing during startup and for initial 5-10 minutes. After startup. In this duration, I checked several times HARD drive health using the utility BIOS InsydeH2O repeatedly. The time required for the diagnosis seems to be gradually increasing with each analysis later but he still passed diagnostics. But today, when he sent 'Hard disk 1 (305) full' message and yet I am able to boot but with freezy start-up. Today, the system froze in the middle of something twice and I had to stop hard. When I ran Avast! It froze at 99% on detailed analysis. He struck the syswow64 folder file and showed an infected file.  I have run windows error checking-HD and it showed no errors.

  My questions are-

  1. what seems to be the problem? What is a HDD failure or infection?

  2. is it useful to replace the HARD disk if the problems are the result of HARD drive problems?

  3. I argued my sytem on external HARD drive, I can install Windows 7 on new HD, if get a?

  4 system backup of files is only 274 MB in size, is this good?

  5. If I purchase the new hard drive has the same specifications and manufacturer as the current one or can I update? If I can update what are recommended replacements?

  You can use any brand of hard drive, as long as it fits the plug.

  Each update for SQL Server 2005 on my computer Vista Home Premuim fails. The most recent example is:

  Other updates have been ad are successful, although I found out recently that it is the recovery disc option to create under maintenance contract. I fdound the recdisk.exe file, but running it does nothing.
