• 4240 IPS blocking queries with Pix 515E

  I have activated the lock on the 4240 and put locking as our Pix 515E. When I look at the Configurations of Signature quite a few Signature Actions are set to alert only produce. If blocking is enabled you also go and the Actions of signing the Deny value or TCP Reset? So far my attackers show dosen't IPS refused and he detected the high level of traffic which I assume must now be blocked. Thanks John

  Yes, go under the signatures that you want and enable blocking for them as an action. Globally blocking configuration (setting the blocking device, the interface, the connection of the device information, etc.), does not actually blocked on the sensor itself, we must still go and activate the blocking of this particular signature. When this particular GIS fires in the future, the sensor it will block on the device that you configured.

  Be very careful with blocking, the reason that we're not blocking simply all the signatures, it is that it would be very dangerous to blindly add access lists to a device that will stop traffic. You must first make sure that you don't get any number of false positives on the signatures and end up blocking valid traffic. In addition, on a busy sensor you could easily overrun detector and locking to writing and deleting 1000's of top access lists. And finally, although probably not, blocking can even be used as an attack denial of service, where an attacker, if they know what signatures you block, can usurp packages past your sensor so that it denies traffic to our legitimate guests.

  You have to look at what signatures you really want to block, and then enable blocking on them individually.

  1. who are the best tool to get the logs of cisco IPS?

  2 where or what directory Logs/events of Cisco are registered?

  3. I am able to see the newspaper today but not able to see beyond the newspaper? What are the possible causes?

  4. any free software tool that look for events and newspapers of cisco IPS?

  1. you can use IME (IPS Manager Express) to display all events of your IPS.

  2. the logs on the device of the IPS itself has very little storage space and it wraps once the log is full, so if you have a large number of events triggered, you are only able to see the latest events.

• Automatic update IPS

  I set up automatic update of the IPS-SSM-20 on Cisco.com and I have a question about the functioning of updates. Updates are related to the engine and the Signature only, is that correct?

  Engine updates are released only a few times a year, while the signature updates are published several times a month (even several times a week, or even several per day during).

  The sensor connects to cisco.com and queries the server for the names of the latest engine and Signature updates.

  Then, it checks to see if these updates are newer than what is currently on the sensor.

  Is there is a new update of motor (higher level of E), and then it downloads and installs the new version of engine.

  If the update of motor on cisco.com is at the same level of E which is already on the sensor, then it checks the level of the last update of the Signature S.

  If the level of the most recent update of Signature S is higher than what is on the sensor, and then downloads and installs the new Signature Update.

  If level E and S of the sensor are the same that the most recent engine update and update of the Signature, the sensor is up to date. None of the files are downloaded, and the sensor waits just until next time of automatic update regular repeat the process.

  9 Firefox behaves differently in previous versions with regard to css3 media queries. Is it possible to behave properly?

  I use the different style settings based on the width. FF9 ignores changes in width and does is display the maximum width of css. Older versions would use different parameters based on the width of the browser currently has been.

• 24 IPS monitor envy: display of 24 issues looking

  I have a monitor of the Envy 24 IPS with display problems.  It seems "cloudy" and there is a line thick pronistique coming down in the middle.  I hung it on my iPad and had the same display issues.  Factory reset already have.  Any help appreciated.  I had the monitor, less than a year and it's been great until recently.

  I recently bought the 27 "and 22" HP vc IPS LED backlit monitors. My intention was to mount them on a mount for two monitors that clips to the back of my desk or on the wall. Every company in the world sells the same media/materials for double monitors, but all have the traditional media that has 4 screw holes. Vc monitors do not have the ability to accept this type of Mount. I tried to call HP customer service and am redirected more than 5 times to the representatives who had no idea how mount it and didn't have an adapter. It is impossible that it is impossible to mount these monitors. Anyone know of a replacement product or an adapter that I can use to ride together?

  HP has monitors with standard VESA mounting holes. My suggestion: take it to the shop and swap for the one that supports standard VESA otherwise must a good skill and a good drill.

  I understand that you experience connectivity problems when you access Game Center accepting friend requests.  Here are some troubleshooting steps that I recommend to go through this problem.

  Get help

  If you are unable to connect to Game Center or stay connected, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure that you are connected to the Internet.
  2. If you cannot create an account or sign in to Game Center of in a game, try to create an account or sign in with the Game Center app.
  3. Sign out of Game Center, then reconnect. If you can not you connect to Game Center with an Apple ID, reset your password, or use another email address. To manage your Apple ID, see my Apple ID.
  4. If you use a connection Wi - Fi, be sure that your Wi-Fi router is configured for Game Center.
  5. If you can't connect to a Mac, continue with the steps to solve the sign in questions.

  I have recently bought HP monitor connected to my laptop and installed the driver.

  My only problem is the annoying icon on the upper right of my screen. It seems that it is a characteristic of the pilot. it disappears when I step outside, but whenever I start my computer it comes back on. (closing is basically software closure of the driver, so he starts each time I restart my computer)

  My Display software allows to choose preferences for optimal viewing. You can choose the settings for games, movies, photo editing or just work on documents and spreadsheets. You can also easily adjust settings such as brightness, color and contrast with my display software. You can uninstall the software, if you choose to not use it. If not, you should check the settings in order to determine if there is an option to hide the icon. Please let me know how it goes.

  Good so I recently bought a new desktop computer HP and monitor, but does not have the cord that connects the monitor to the computer (I think that's what we call a vga?) or I guess that is not compatible.

  Your graphics card HDMI, it seems that your monitor is also.

  So, you can use an HDMI cable to connect your PC to your monitor.

  Or you will need a VGA adapter DVI [masculine] [man].

  The top connector is DVI - D [Dual Link] and only supports digital displays.

  The lower connector is DVI - I [double link] and support a display either analog or digital.

  According to the specifications of this model, the screen has an anti-glare finish (Matt). If it was icy, the finish would be called "brightview."

  I totally understand the importance bright reflective screens drive me crazy personally. But it seems that there is just like a lot of people who can't stand the end matte, so to each their own.
