HP Envy 15-ae104no: install the HARD drive

Hello.

I have a question about the HP Envy 15 - ae104no which is equipped with a 256 Gb SSD m2.

Before burning I would want to know if it is possible to install a sata 1 TB of disk as a 2nd hard drive in this PC.

Thanks in advance.

What about Peter

@Viper9

I'm not sure at 100% but with other models of HP, I saw that they did not come with the extra cable or caddy.

Hard disk hardware kit (not shown, includes support for HDD and screws)

The hard drive connector cable is available by using the spare part number 812697-001.

812686 001

Looks like you need to buy.

You say that you have started from the XP CD, but something is wrong with that
you do. Just boot from the CD and follow the prompts for a
clean install. A new installation by formatting the
drive and does not care what version of Windows is installed (or
even if any version of Windows is installed.

  • HP Pavilion a6667c: HP Pavilion a6667c, install the HARD drive to the SATA port

My question is: is it OK to install a hard drive extra (in this case, my old laptop drive) in one of spare SATA ports on the motherboard? My first two is taken over by my first hard disk and the optical stock.

You can add the disk as a data disk. This tray will work. Data cable

The power supply should have additional Sata power lead.

  • HP Envy: Surprise by wiping the hard drive

Bit of a dilemma. As many people here seem to have experienced, the hinges on my HP Envy broke and it became difficult to open. I don't think too much of it until one of the parties apparently messed up my laptops fan, and it has stopped working. Fortunately, I bought the warranty of two years on this issue, but before I change it I would like to wipe the hard drive.

Unfortunately, my computer is too hot, the wipe can be performed (sometimes above 3%) and stops. Is it possible to get of arundel this?

    Thank you

If you start a wipe and it fails, you went far enough to discourage most users access to all data.    There is minimal risk of you data may be retrieved and used for malicious purposes, but if you want to wipe it completely you need to take out the hard drive and connect it to another PC (internally or through external HARD drive dock) to format/wipe, he.

  • installing the hard drive internal

I am trying to install an internal hard drive WD (as a second drive) on my Dimension E310.  I connected the drive to port SATA2, but the drive does not appear on my computer.  WD service says I need to verify that the port is enabled.  How can I do this?

  • Install the hard drive in the ultrabay slot Gets the benefits of the active protection system?

    Hi all

I have a 500 GB 7200 RPM hard drive I bought Lenovo and a hard drive caddy that is the thin (so there is a slight gap for those who are curious) on the thinkpad t510. what I was wondering is I dualboot on it (linux on the 500 GB) and I'm wondering if when I use windows, is the second hdd always get protected against shocks and other potentially dangerous damage of active protection system which is present for the hard disk which is preinstalled on your laptop

Based on marketing materials, it seems that the UltraBay has this feature as well.

  • Installing the hard drive

I want to add a new 80G hard drive to our office of Dimension and run two hard drives.  When I looked inside the computer, I found the original disk is placed in a 'plateau', but there is no additional tray to put the new drive in.  Is this something that the new hard drive should have come with?  Where can I get another tray to put the new hard drive?

Is it really so hard to fix these things?
How hard is it to make the hard drive out, & how would then access down my data?

    Hello

    > I took to a local repair place, he said, it would cost more to fix this, so I should really find it useful laptop only think about recover my data.
I agree with the authorized service provider. My personal opinion is that it s a malfunction of the motherboard and it is a very expensive part. Besides, Equium A60 is pretty old model so it would be better buy you a new laptop and recover your data.

    > How difficult is it to make the hard drive out, & how would then access down my data?
It of not difficult, but I m really wondering why you need access to these data. You don t have a backup? In my opinion the backup is the most important thing you need to do on a computer.
Anyway, normally on the underside of your laptop there is a HARD drive cover which is guaranteed by one or two screws. You must remove this cover and then you can see the HARD drive and you're able to remove it.
Also buy an external HARD drive enclosure where you can install the HARD drive. Then you can connect it to another computer to back up your data. ;)

  • How to copy the contents of the hard drive to new hardrive on Tecra 9100?

I just got my new hardrive and need to copy the content from the old to the new. The new hardrive came with no additional software. I have Norton Ghost, so, naturally, I went to the Hardrive copy tool to see that it lists my current hardrive to copy to. How can I copy the contents if I need to install the hard drive? I mean, surely, that it won't do anything if I just put the new hardrive?

    Help, please!

    Hello

about your hard drive and the size, it's easy, just follow these steps:

Go to "Control Panel"-> "Administration tools"-> "Computer management"-> "Disk Management" and then activate the partition not formatted by right-clicking on the "Unallocated" part and click on 'New Partition The rest is easy to achieve.

And what about the USB-Caddy: they are cheap, you can get every electronic market for $ 10, so it shouldn´t be a big problem. :)

    Welcome them

  • I can't activate my real Vista on 'New' material by using the hard drive of my old hardware

OK, I got a laptop comes pre-loaded with windows Vista and it has got water damage and shorted, the hard drive however is in good working condition. I bought a laptop replacement because I didn't want to be on another computer that someone else would break anyway.

so I bought this used the laptop from a friend that he would use to intnet and games, she had similar specs as my old laptop except the proccessor was different but similar speed and what not. what I want to do is to install the hard drive from my old with Vista genuine in this 'new' computer that has a hard drive in a way smaller and is loaded with XP.

compatible sound and I have already, but it asks me for my product key that I have but it says its wrong (I guess as its headquarters in the old hardware) so is there a way to unregister the old hardware or upgrade my hardware information in order to use my old hard drive and keep my status as a true?

not only is a HDD larger but its quicker and there all my files ive been without for more than a year now and frankly I need it back so bad at this point

    Thank you thank you

Sorry, but versions OEM of Windows Vista cannot be transferred to another computer.  The license is permanently tied to the original computer, it has been installed and activated on. Carey Frisch
