IPSEC VPN crossed/Uturn problems internal net connections
I have an ASA 5505 I connect remotely. I use it as a remote IPSEC VPN with crossed/uturn to allow me to surf the Internet with my IP address.
I can't access one of the internal computers on my home network. I was able to do it successfully in the past on an older IOS SAA, but I am now on a new ASA 8.2 running (1) and I am unable to connect internally.
I would like to connect my Slingbox and Tivo which is my home. I tried to ping the boxes and no luck. In the past, when it worked I was able to ping devices.
I enclose my config.
Thanks in advance.
Jon
Jon,
If you are able to PING 192.168.1.1 VPN client, it means traffic reaches right inside the interface of the ASA.
Now, the ASA must forward packets to 192.168.1.6 when received.
Follow these steps:
Just add the keyword to the outside
to this statement:
NAT (outside) 1 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0 outside
Try again. If this does not work, make sure that the only NAT statements you have are the following (you can copy and paste):
permit ip 192.168.2.0 access list NAT0OUT 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0
permit 192.168.1.0 ip access list NAT0IN 255.255.255.0 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0
no global (inside) 1 interface
NAT (inside) 0-list of access NAT0IN
NAT (inside) 1 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0
NAT (outside) 0-list of access NAT0OUT
NAT (outside) 1 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0

Hi all
I find this compression of supporting IPPCP 2600XM for IPSec VPN. It seems that it is supported only with a VPN module, is it?
What would you say if I don't have module VPN, but the IPSec VPN configuration and compression for a connection low speed?
BTW, the IPSec VPN and "compress stac" can co-exist?
Also, what kind of compression support in 28xx with IPSec VPN?
Thank you very much.
MAK
MAK,
It depends on the installed vpn module. The previous support compression, but the compression is performed in software, not on the card, which offers only encryption. For this to work, you must run IOS 12.2 (13) T or later.
If your previous IOS running, you cannot use compression alongside encryption PURPOSE cards at all.
The latest maps AIM-VPN /? P II IPPC support in hardware.
More information is here:
http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/HW/routers/ps259/products_data_sheet09186a0080088750.html
This link displays information related to the release of functionality of software compression of 12.2 (13) T
Thus, the options you have depend on the IOS and the card BUT you have.
Beginning IOS and card without compression
12.2 (13) T and IOS beginning, hardware encryption software compression
Last map and supporting encryption and hardware compression IOS.
I'm unsure of the 2800 series, I expected that they support the latest novelty of compression and hardware encryption.

Can connect to the IPSec VPN, but can not see the internal network
I have several users that can connect to our rooms of ussing IPSec VPN on a 5505. I have a user who can connect, but cannot see the internal network. This user is using DSL with a speedstream 4100. However, I have another user with the same configuration that can connect and see the internal network. Newspapers in ASDM show the link, but do not seem to show any errors trying to access internal. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Bill.

Coming out of the IPSec VPN connection behind Pix535 problem: narrowed down for NAT-Associates
Hello world
Previously, I've seen a similar thread and posted my troubles with the outbound VPN connections inside that thread:
https://supportforums.Cisco.com/message/3688980#3688980
I had the great help but unfortunatedly my problem is a little different and connection problem. Here, I summarize once again our configurations:
hostname pix535 8.0 (4)
all PC here use IP private such as 10.1.0.0/16 by dynamic NAT, we cannot initiate an OUTBOUND IPSec VPN (for example QuickVPN) at our offices, but the reverse (inbound) is very well (we have IPsec working long server /PP2P). I did a few tests of new yesterday which showed that if the PC a static NAT (mapped to a real public IP), outgoing connection VPN is fine; If the same PC has no static NAT (he hides behind the dynamic NAT firewall), outgoing VPN is a no-go (same IP to the same PC), so roughly, I have narrowed down our connection problem VPN is related to NAT, here are a few commands for NAT of our PIX:

70 packages shownWe had this problem of connection VPN IPsec from the years (I first thought it is restriction access problem, but it does not work or if I disable all access lists, experience of yesterday for the same restriction of the access-list shows longer than PC is not the cause). All suggestions and tips are greatly appreciated.

Establish a IPsec VPN connection, but remote site can't ping main office
Hi, I set up connection from site to site IPsec VPN between cisco 892 (main site) router and linksys router wrv210 (remote site). My problem is that I can ping network router wrv210 lan of my main office where is cisco 892 router, but I cannot ping the main site of linksys wrv210 lan (my remote site).
My configuration on the cisco 892 router:

I only give your router cisco 892 because there is nothnig much to change on linksys wrv210 router.
Hope someone can help me. See you soon
You can run a "ip inspect log drop-pkt" and see if get you any what FW-DROP session corresponding to the traffic you send Linksys to the main site. Zone based firewall could be blocking traffic initiated from outside to inside.

When you say that "the external interface is downwards using failover techniques" you mean this failover occurred because the ASA is no longer able to reach the 31.13.72.1? Not that the actual interface is broken?
If this is the case, then the NATing is your problem. Since you're using the same VPN pool for VPN connections the ASA cannot distinguish between the two streams of traffic if the external interface is still in place. The SLA tracking only removes a route in the routing table, but does not affect what happens in the NAT process.
try to change the NAT statement follows him and the test (don't forget to remove the other statements to exempt of NAT for this traffic during the test):

If this does not work, I would either turn off the external interface when a failover occurs, or create a second connection profile that contains a separate mass of IP for the VPN connection and ask users to connect using this profile when a failover takes place. Don't forget to create Nat exempt instructions for this traffic also.

Need urgent help in the configuration of the Client VPN IPSec Site with crossed on Cisco ASA5510 - 8.2 (1).
Here is the presentation:
There are two leased lines for Internet access - a route 1.1.1.1 and 2.2.2.2, the latter being the default Standard, old East for backup.
I was able to configure the Client VPN IPSec Site
(1) with access to the outside so that the internal network (172.16.0.0/24) behind the asa
(2) with Split tunnel with simultaneous assess internal LAN and Internet on the outside.
But I was not able to make the tradiotional model Hairpinng to work in this scenario.
I followed every possible suggestions made on this subject in many topics of Discussion but still no luck. Can someone help me here please?
Here is the race-Conf with Normal Client to Site IPSec VPN configured with no access boarding:
LIMITATION: Cannot boot into any other image ios for unavoidable reasons, must use 8.2 (1)

Adding dynamic NAT for 192.168.150.0/24 on the external interface works, or works the sysopt connection permit VPN
Please tell what to do here, to pin all of the traffic Internet from VPN Clients.
That is, that I need clients connected via VPN tunnel, when connected to the internet, should have their addresses IP NAT'ted against the address of outside internet2 network 2.2.2.2 interface, as it happens for the customers of Campus (172.16.0.0/16)
I am well aware of all involved in here, so please be elaborative in your answers. Please let me know if you need more information about this configuration to respond to my request.
Thank you & best regards
MAXS
Hello
If possible, I'd like to see that a TCP connection attempt (e.g. http://www.google.com) in the ASDM logging of the VPN Client when you set up the dynamic NAT for the VPN Pool also.
I'll try also the command "packet - trace" on the SAA, while the VPN Client is connected to the ASA.
The command format is
packet-tracer intput tcp
That should tell what the SAA for this kind of package entering its "input" interface
Still can not see something wrong with the configuration (other than the statement of "nat" missing Dynamics PAT)

IPSEC VPN from Site to Site - NAT problem with address management
Hi all
I have two Cisco ASA 5505 performing of IPSEC Site to Site VPN. All traffic inside each firewall through the VPN tunnel and I have full connectivity. From site A, I can connect to the inside address of the ASA at the site B and launch of the ASDM or SSH, etc.
The problem I have is when I'm logged on the ASA site B management traffic is given the external address. I created this as interesting traffic to get it to go through the VPN but I need to use the inside address of ASA B. The following is possible:
- If I can make the ASA Site B to use inside interface as its address management (I already have management access to the inside Interface)
- I have NAT can address external interfaces to Site B before moving through the VPN tunnel management traffic so that it appears to come from Site B inside the address
- I can NAT VPN traffic as it appears in the Site A for management traffic to Site B on the right address.
The problem is that my PRACTICE Please also come from this address and I need the application before being on an internal address to even if my CA.
Thanks for any help.
Ian
Thanks, I understand what you are trying to achieve now.
However, I think that I don't have good news for you. Unfortunately PEIE request can be initiated of the SAA within the interface, as there is no option to start the query from the inside interface. With other features of management such as AAA, logging, you have an option to specify what ASA desired originally to demand from interface, but CEP doesn't have this option.
Here's how you can configure under the trustpoint crypto, but unfortunately by specifying the interface doesn't not part of option:

VPN IPSec passthrough ASA 5505 (v9.2.4) - connected but no access
Hello
Here's my situation:
I am trying to connect a client IPSec VPN via an ASA 5505 to an other ASA 5505. In fact, I can make the connection to the VPN but all accesses are blocked (ping or IP access).
When I use a router ISP directly or at home, I have no problem (ping and IP access follow the firewall rules). Connection and access are allowed.
Schema:
I have attached both the configuration for this post
I've recently updated 8.2.5 ASA 8.4.6 and 9.2.4. An another ASA 5505 v8.2.5 works well in both way (via ASA VPN connection) and the VPN through ASA1 this ASA.
I have tried many solution to solve the problem (nat/ipsec static inspection), but I failed to solve it. I tried to see asp in ASA1 drop, but I was right to drop only "nat-xlate-failed".
Thanks for your help because I'm going crazy...
Olivier,
PS: Sorry for my English...
Hi Olivier,.
Could enable you icmp on the ASA inspection?
Use this command and check:
fixup protocol icmp
Kind regards
Aditya

Hi Mike, the built-in client for MAC does not work with the RV220W. The reason is, the MAC IPSec client is the same as the Cisco VPN 5.x client.
The reason that this is important is that the 5.x client work that on certain small business products include the SRP500 and SA500 series.
I would recommend that you search by using a client VPN as Greenbow or IPSecuritas.

"ITS creation failed" problem for IPSec VPN
An ASA 5100 is used to provide VPN access for my business. The configuration was made by a permeable man who has been missing for some time, and the configuration used to be OK until this morning. This morning, some users reported that their VPN would have fallen once got connected. I checked the ASA and ASDM, I see every time when user deletes, it IPSec tunnel is always action. Furthermore, I faked the problem and got the newspaper of errors such as:
1 11:14:45.898 12/06/07 Sev = WARNING/3 IKE/0xE3000065 could not find an IKE SA for 10.2.1.8. Abandoned KEY_REQ.
2 11:14:45.898 12/06/07 Sev = WARNING/2 IKE/0xE3000099 could not open the P2 generate a new key: error detected(Initiate:176)
3 11:14:45.898 12/06/07 Sev = WARNING/2 IKE/0xE3000099 cannot open the QM (IKE_MAIN:458)
On the side of the AS I did "debug crypto isakmp" and 'debug crypto ipsec' and I got the following errors:
iscoasa # ERROR IPSEC: expiration of the timer of the asynchronous operation, SPI: 0x114CA5B6, user: roeladmin, peer: 202.x.x.70, time: 2 seconds, ctm_ipsec_create_sa:856

It shows that ITS creation has failed. But I can't find the problem with the configuration. Can someone help me on this? Thank you
Outgoing material ITS create command failed, SPI: 0x114CA5B6, error code: 0 x 17
It is a hardware problem, reset the firewall and it will work, I saw 4 times in different ASAs
Please hate the post if help.

If the RIP is not absolutely necessary for you, try adding the default route to R2:
IP route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 172.16.2.1
If you want to use RIP much, add permissions ACL 102:
access-list 102 permit udp any any eq 520
