IPSec VPN tunnel only to come
Hello
I am trying to configure an IPSec VPN tunnel between my company and a remote company for the use of FTP secure.
I used the SDM to configure the tunnel on my router based on the information provided by the society that we are trying to connect to. The other company has provided my debug log when I was testing the connection, but I do not know how to read and what could be the problem. I hope someone here can give me an overview of what prevents the tunnel connection.
Please let me know if you need more information.
Thank you
Peter Haase
Peter,
Good job!
Because the tunnel is up, we must not debugs.
I'm glad that finally it works.

: endGood news, that VPN has been implemented!
According to the ping problem, my suggestion is to check, if some type of firewall based on host computers on both sides block ICMP requests.
Anyway, you can still use the capture of packets on the inside of the interfaces of the two ASAs, to check if the ICMP traffic is to reach the ASA.
In addition, you can try to enable ICMP inspection:

class inspection_defaultinspect the icmp

Routing access to Internet through an IPSec VPN Tunnel
Hello
I installed a VPN IPSec tunnel for a friend's business. At his desk at home, I installed a Cisco SA520 and at it is remote from the site I have a Cisco RVS4000. The IPSec VPN tunnel works very well. The remote site, it can hit all of its workstations and peripheral. I configured the RVS4000 working in router mode as opposed to the bridge. In the Home Office subnet is 192.168.1.0/24 while the subnet to the remote site is 192.168.2.0/24. The SA520 is configured as Internet gateway for the headquarters to 192.168.1.1. The remote desktop has a gateway 192.168.2.1.
I need to configure the remote site so that all Internet traffic will be routed via the Home Office. I have to make sure that whatever it is plugged into the Ethernet on the RVS4000 port will have its Internet traffic routed through the Internet connection on the SA520. Currently I can ping any device on the headquarters of the remote desktop, but I can't ping anything beyond the gateway (192.168.1.1) in the Home Office.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Hi William, the rvs4000 does not support the tunnel or esp transfer wild-card.

Site to Site VPN tunnel is not come between 2 routers
Dear all,
I have 2 routers for branch which is configured for VPN site-to-site, but the tunnel does not come!
I ran debug and I enclose herwith output for your kind review and recommendation. I also enclose here the 2 routers configs branch.
Any idea on why the Site to site VPN is not coming?
Kind regards
Haitham
You guessed it!
Just because you have re-used the same card encryption for LAN to LAN and vpn-client traffic.

IPSEC VPN tunnel on issue of Zonebased Firewall
Help, please!
I'm trying to configure a router lab ISR1921 to build the VPN tunnel with vmware vshield edge. The configuration of the 1921 is pasted below. There is not a lot of adjustment on the side of vshield really and I'm sure both sides are adapting to phase 1 & 2.
The question I have: the tunnel can be built correctly and I also see from show crypto ipsec release encap and decap counters. However the devices on each side can communicate. That said, I can ping from 1921 to the IP of the internal interface of the vshield with IP source specified. But just no communication part and other...
I did debugs and only "error" messages are:
01:58:03.193 20 February: ISAKMP: (1001): error suppression node 1656104565 FALSE reason 'informational (in) State d1.
...
01:58:03.193 20 February: ISAKMP: (1001): purge the node-1657220080
I hope that I did a stupid thing to configure error, but I spent too much time on it. It is supposed to be a really simple installation... Please help!

Internet through a RA IPSec VPN Tunnel traffic
Armed with an ASA 5505 Security Plus, I configure IPSec VPN for RA the VPN IP address pool is in the 192.168.2.0/28 network.
The Lan is 192.168.1.0/24 with inside interface a.254.
The VPN works great. What I would do is to route all internet through the firewall traffic when users are connected to the VPN. I put this gateway 192.168.1.254 tunnel, but I'm having no luck to get it works.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
You are just going to route internet traffic to the remote vpn client to the ASA and backward on the Internet?
If the above statement is correct, you need not configure the tunnel default gateway.
But you need to configure NAT for the ip pool, so they can go to the internet, as well as the 'same-security-movement' command as follows:
NAT (outside) 1 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0
permit same-security-traffic intra-interface
In addition, assuming that you have not have split configured tunnel.

ASA Cisco IPSEC VPN tunnel has not managed the traffic
Hi guys
I am trying to set up a new connection IPSEC VPN between a Cisco ASA 5520 (verion 8.4 (4)) and Checkpoint Firewall. I managed to establish the phases IKE and IPSEC and I can see the tunnel is UP. But I can't see any traffic through the tunnel. I checked the cryptomap both ends and try to test with a contionuous ping from within the network of the SAA.
I made a screenshot of ICMP packets but cannot see in ASA. I welcomed the icmp inside ASA interface.
I did a package tracer and it ends with a fall of vpn - filter the packets. But can not see any configured filters...
Your help is very appreciated...
Thank you
You probably need to add nat negate statements:-something like.

RV110W replaces WRV210. IPsec VPN tunnel between them?
I have a VPN between two locations using WRV210s at the end of work. Now, I want to replace a 210 with a new RV110W. Can I get both to work together? The config is quite different.
Rod, the rv110w must be on the latest version of the software. The original version firmware did not support site to site vpn.
Site of the tunnel to the other, simply to match the parameters. If you need help with this, you can call the support center, make sure you have access to the pages of each router configuration.

GRE and IPSEC VPN tunnel over the same interface
My client is currently connected to a service provider of call through a GRE Tunnel over IPSEC. They chose to move all connections to a VPN site-to-site traditional behind a firewall, here, to your corp office. As the questions says, is possible for me to put in place the VPN site to site on the same router? Interface Tunnelx both ethernet have the same encryption card assigned to the destination router. I thought that traffic could divide by identification of traffic 'interesting '. Thanks for all the ideas, suggestions

Thanks for the additional information. It takes so that the existing entries in ACL 101 remain so the existing tunnel will still work. And you have to add entries that will allow the new tunnel. Editing an ACL that is actively filtering traffic can get complicated. Here is a technique that I use sometimes.
-create a new access list (perhaps ACL 102 assuming that 102 is not already in use).
-Copy the entries of ACL 101 to 102 and add additional entries you need in places appropriate in the ACL.
-Once the new version of the ACL is complete in the config, then go tho the interface and change the ip access-group to point to the new ACL.
This provides a transition that does not affect traffic. And he made it back to the original easy - especially if something does not work as expected in the new ACL.
If the encryption of the remote card has an entry for GRE and a separate entrance for the IPSec which is a good thing and should work. I guess card crypto for GRE entry specifies an access list that allows the GRE traffic and for IPSec crypto map entry points to a different access list that identifies the IP traffic is encrypted through the IPSec tunnel.

Cisco IPSec VPN works only one way.
I'm hitting my head against the wall for more than 2 weeks now. I can't get this figured out.
We have 2 locations and a server with an Internet service provider. Currently, we are connecting to our Internet service provider via a vpn ipsec to our headquarters. later, we will add the 1 direction.
The problem is the following. My vpn is in place, I can ping my local ip address, my IP of the tunnel, the remote tunnel interface, the vlan remote or the gateway, but I can't ping anything you wanted. The branch to the ISP I ping the router in the Internet service provider's domain controller and the server very well. but I can't ping or talk about anything either at the Office on the side of the IAF. and so I can not communicate with any host on the LAN. Can someone please help me with this?
Can I unload the configs of the two routers here someone watching?
Thanks in advance.
Exemption from the NAT on the end server must include the following reject order:
NAT extended IP access list
5 deny ip 10.1.20.0 0.0.0.255 10.178.164.128 0.0.0.127
Disable the ip nat translation before testing again.

Conflict of IPSec between IPSec and business VPN tunnels
I crushed a 2821 current c2800nm-adventerprisek9 - mz.124 - 22.YB8 at home with 2 gre IPSec tunnels for personal use, and my office will be held that a customer based IPSec VPN to connect to the corporate VPN. My problem is that when I want to connect to the corporate VPN, I see packages being encrypted and sent, but I would have never received the return packets. It seems that the IPSec VPN tunnels with IPSec from my office and router packages conflict trying to decrypt and gives this error. (I removed the public addresses for anonymity)
CRYPTO-4-RECVD_PKT_INV_SPI: decaps: rec would be package IPSEC a bad spi to destaddr = "myaddress", prot = 50, spi = 0xDB32344E (3677500494), port = "corpvpn".
When I remove the card encryption off-side WAN router, my Office VPN works immediately. I can change the configuration, either on the side of the IPSec GRE tunnels, but has no way for me to change any configuration on the corporate VPN. Does anyone know of a workaround on the cisco router? I can provide the running configs or view orders.
The 2821 also performs NAT overload for internet access.
Hello, Reed.
1. try to remove the interface crypto map and add "protection... profile ipsec tunnel." "to your VTI:
Crypto ipsec IPSEC profile
solid Set trans
int g0/0
No crypto map card
int tu1
Ipsec IPSEC protection tunnel profile
int tu2
Ipsec IPSEC protection tunnel profile
2. try to force your corpVPN to use encapsulation UDP instead of ESP.

Hi all
We have a customer who has recently changed Vedors and came to us. We had to change the ISP and the need to make changes in their firewall. I went out on the site and has not been able to get into the routers and I contacted the previos company but they do not release this information. We have therefore had to reset devices and put everything up. Everything works great except before having an IPSEC VPN Tunnel between the 2 buildings. Both buildings have routers WRVS4400N and I configured a VPN IPSEC Tunnel on both sides. I named the same and the summary says that both are on the rise. But when I try to go from one side to the other, I am unable to Ping or solve anything. I'll put all the information I can find are relavent to this problem and hope someone can help me. I called Cisco, but they said they are out of warranty and will not be able to help. Cisco directed me here.

The problem is most likely in the 'Local Group' configuration. How they are implemented is essentially to allow only the 192.39.1.1 and 192.59.1.1 talk to each other. These fields should be read as the subnet as this ID: 192.39.1.0 and 192.59.1.0
Try this restart of the tunnels, and let us know how it worked.

RV016 split support VPN tunnel?
I read a rumor that the RV016 does not support split VPN tunnels.
See here:
My understanding is that on my router RV042 VPN tunnels will send internet traffic to the local gateway and send the traffic through the VPN tunnel only if they are intended for the remote subnet. It is my understanding of the "split tunnel".
Is it not true with the RV016?
Your understanding on split tunnel is correct. RV016 behaves like RV042 in this regard.

You can try the following NAT + route map approach (method 2 in this link)

Hello guys,.
I have Cisco ASA5520 facing the ISP with private IP address. We don't have a router and how to get the IPSec VPN through the internet?
The question statement not the interface pointing to ISP isn't IP address private and inside as well.
Firewall configuration:
Firewall outside interface Gi0 10.0.1.2 > ISP 10.0.1.1 with security-level 0
Firewall inside the interface Ethernet0 192.168.1.1 > LAN switch 192.168.1.2 with security-level 100
I have public IP block 199.9.9.1/28
How can I use the public IP address to create the IPSec VPN tunnel between two sites across the internet?
can I assign a public IP address on the Gig1 inside the interface with the security level of 100 and how to apply inside to carry on this interface?
If I configure > firewall inside of the item in gi1 interface ip address 199.9.9.1/28 with security-level 100. How to make a safe lane VPN through this interface on the internet?
I'm used to the public IP address allocation to the interface outside of the firewall and private inside the interface IP address.
Please help with configuration examples and advise.
Thank you
Eric
Unfortunately, you can only complete the VPN connection on the interface the VPN connection source, in your case the external interface.
3 options:
(1) connect a router in front of the ASA and assign your public ip address to the ASA outside interface.
OR /.
(2) If your ISP can perform static translation of 1 to 1, then you can always finish the VPN on the external interface and ask your provider what is the static ip address assigned to your ASA out of the IP (10.0.1.2) - this will launch the VPN of bidirectionally
OR /.
(3) If your ISP performs PAT (dynamic NAT), then you can only start the tunnel VPN on the side of the ASA and the other end of the tunnel must be configured to allow VPN LAN-to-LAN dynamics.
