GRE and IPSEC VPN tunnel over the same interface

My client is currently connected to a service provider of call through a GRE Tunnel over IPSEC. They chose to move all connections to a VPN site-to-site traditional behind a firewall, here, to your corp office.  As the questions says, is possible for me to put in place the VPN site to site on the same router? Interface Tunnelx both ethernet have the same encryption card assigned to the destination router.  I thought that traffic could divide by identification of traffic 'interesting '.  Thanks for all the ideas, suggestions

Thanks for the additional information. It takes so that the existing entries in ACL 101 remain so the existing tunnel will still work. And you have to add entries that will allow the new tunnel. Editing an ACL that is actively filtering traffic can get complicated. Here is a technique that I use sometimes.

-create a new access list (perhaps ACL 102 assuming that 102 is not already in use).

-Copy the entries of ACL 101 to 102 and add additional entries you need in places appropriate in the ACL.

-Once the new version of the ACL is complete in the config, then go tho the interface and change the ip access-group to point to the new ACL.

This provides a transition that does not affect traffic. And he made it back to the original easy - especially if something does not work as expected in the new ACL.

If the encryption of the remote card has an entry for GRE and a separate entrance for the IPSec which is a good thing and should work. I guess card crypto for GRE entry specifies an access list that allows the GRE traffic and for IPSec crypto map entry points to a different access list that identifies the IP traffic is encrypted through the IPSec tunnel.

    Hello

Maybe it's a simple qeustion, and I also know it can be done on a SAA.

  • Windows IPSEC and SSL VPN client on the same machine

Matches (coexistence) installation of IPSEC and SSL vpn clients that are supported on the same computer, windows (XP and Win7)?

As mentioned by Patricia and Jennifer (5 stars), you can install two clients on the same machine without any problem.

The tricky part comes when you are trying to connect two clients at the same time, that's when you may encounter unexpected problems.

However, if your intention is to install both clients and connect them individually and not at the same time, you'll be fine.

  • Two VPN tunnels on the same device with the same protected networks

There is a remote site that wants me to put in place two separate tunnels of VPN with the same internal IP at each end. FOR EXAMPLE

    LAN = 10.212.170.201/32, 10.212.170.202/32

    Remote network 192.168.0.0/24 =

I currently have a tunnel between the above:

    End Point distance = 111.93.152.186

    Local endpoint point = 198.205.115.252

Now, they want to set up a VPN for the same networks between:

    End Point distance = 115.115.130.34

    Local endpoint point = 198.205.115.252

It is my understanding that the Cisco ASA 5520 can do. The only way I've seen this done with Cisco hardware is to use two ASAs, but there may be a way to use the costs of road or some other tricks to make it happen.

    I'm open to suggestions.

    Is a backup?

In, specify endpoint remote second as a "backup" of the peer in the first virtual private network.  Alone will be active at the time - but there are toggled if the VPN in first dies.

Router IOS or PIX? EzVPN server or client?

If it's EzVPN server, then it's basically a configuration of remote access also, then Yes, you can certainly have them both, actually just set one up and you get one anyway.

If it's EzVPN client, then no if it is a PIX and Yes if it's a router, but you must run 12.2 (15) T, see http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios122/122newft/122t/122t15/ftezvpnr.htm#1155828 for more details.

Please answer back with more information on exactly what you're trying to do, it is a little difficult to your original explanation.

  • The GRE and IPSec

We currently have several sites with ISAKMP/IPSec tunnels between routers 2800 and we need some of them migrate to the GRE with IPSec tunnels. Are there problems with endpoint tunnels GRE and IPsec on the same router and interface?

I didn't know all the problems - apart from the router doing the encryption/decryption & GRE encapsulation/decapsulation, just be respect for traffic through the put.

I have noted problems with traffic GRE and MTU problems. Cisco recommends a MTU of 1440 at Discretion, I would say that set 1400.

  • Conflict of IPSec between IPSec and business VPN tunnels

I crushed a 2821 current c2800nm-adventerprisek9 - mz.124 - 22.YB8 at home with 2 gre IPSec tunnels for personal use, and my office will be held that a customer based IPSec VPN to connect to the corporate VPN.  My problem is that when I want to connect to the corporate VPN, I see packages being encrypted and sent, but I would have never received the return packets.  It seems that the IPSec VPN tunnels with IPSec from my office and router packages conflict trying to decrypt and gives this error.  (I removed the public addresses for anonymity)

CRYPTO-4-RECVD_PKT_INV_SPI: decaps: rec would be package IPSEC a bad spi to destaddr = "myaddress", prot = 50, spi = 0xDB32344E (3677500494), port = "corpvpn".

When I remove the card encryption off-side WAN router, my Office VPN works immediately.  I can change the configuration, either on the side of the IPSec GRE tunnels, but has no way for me to change any configuration on the corporate VPN.  Does anyone know of a workaround on the cisco router?  I can provide the running configs or view orders.

The 2821 also performs NAT overload for internet access.

    Hello, Reed.

    1. try to remove the interface crypto map and add "protection... profile ipsec tunnel." "to your VTI:

    Crypto ipsec IPSEC profile

    solid Set trans

    int g0/0

    No crypto map card

    int tu1

    Ipsec IPSEC protection tunnel profile

    int tu2

    Ipsec IPSEC protection tunnel profile

    2. try to force your corpVPN to use encapsulation UDP instead of ESP.

  • Internet through a RA IPSec VPN Tunnel traffic

Armed with an ASA 5505 Security Plus, I configure IPSec VPN for RA the VPN IP address pool is in the 192.168.2.0/28 network.

The Lan is 192.168.1.0/24 with inside interface a.254.

The VPN works great. What I would do is to route all internet through the firewall traffic when users are connected to the VPN. I put this gateway 192.168.1.254 tunnel, but I'm having no luck to get it works.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

You are just going to route internet traffic to the remote vpn client to the ASA and backward on the Internet?

If the above statement is correct, you need not configure the tunnel default gateway.

But you need to configure NAT for the ip pool, so they can go to the internet, as well as the 'same-security-movement' command as follows:

    NAT (outside) 1 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0

    permit same-security-traffic intra-interface

In addition, assuming that you have not have split configured tunnel.

  • IPSec VPN between ASAs with same subnet for disaster recovery

    Hello

I need some clarification from you guys.

To do disaster EasyVPN tunnels for the Cisco ASA 5505 firewall recovery site. Now, there is only one main site and 3 remote sites.

Dr., must use the same subnet that it is on the main site because virtual machines Vmware will be replicated to DR.

For the DR we use Double-Take software.

What is the best solution for this? I think we could use NAT of Destination on ASAs. Other sites (HQ and remote control) will be directed to only address NAT of the

DR and not real which is the same as on the main site.

So guys, will this work? We are using IPSec VPN? In packet - trace on ASA, I see that the package is the first using a NAT, and then encrypted, so it should work, Yes?

I hope someone can confirm this.

I can confirm that this will work certainly,

for prior type natting see 8.3:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/ps6120/products_configuration_example09186a0080b37d0b.shtml#diag

for 8.3 and later it is also achievable.

  • Routing access to Internet through an IPSec VPN Tunnel

    Hello

I installed a VPN IPSec tunnel for a friend's business. At his desk at home, I installed a Cisco SA520 and at it is remote from the site I have a Cisco RVS4000. The IPSec VPN tunnel works very well. The remote site, it can hit all of its workstations and peripheral. I configured the RVS4000 working in router mode as opposed to the bridge. In the Home Office subnet is 192.168.1.0/24 while the subnet to the remote site is 192.168.2.0/24. The SA520 is configured as Internet gateway for the headquarters to 192.168.1.1. The remote desktop has a gateway 192.168.2.1.

I need to configure the remote site so that all Internet traffic will be routed via the Home Office. I have to make sure that whatever it is plugged into the Ethernet on the RVS4000 port will have its Internet traffic routed through the Internet connection on the SA520. Currently I can ping any device on the headquarters of the remote desktop, but I can't ping anything beyond the gateway (192.168.1.1) in the Home Office.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Hi William, the rvs4000 does not support the tunnel or esp transfer wild-card.

Good news, that VPN has been implemented!

According to the ping problem, my suggestion is to check, if some type of firewall based on host computers on both sides block ICMP requests.

Anyway, you can still use the capture of packets on the inside of the interfaces of the two ASAs, to check if the ICMP traffic is to reach the ASA.

In addition, you can try to enable ICMP inspection:

    Policy-map global_policy
    class inspection_default

    inspect the icmp

    inspect the icmp error

  • IPSec VPN tunnel only to come

    Hello

I am trying to configure an IPSec VPN tunnel between my company and a remote company for the use of FTP secure.

I used the SDM to configure the tunnel on my router based on the information provided by the society that we are trying to connect to. The other company has provided my debug log when I was testing the connection, but I do not know how to read and what could be the problem. I hope someone here can give me an overview of what prevents the tunnel connection.

Please let me know if you need more information.

    Thank you

    Peter Haase

    Peter,

    Good job!

Because the tunnel is up, we must not debugs.

I'm glad that finally it works.

  • WebVPN and anyconnect on the same interface

    Hello!!

We have ASA 5520 firewall running with code.9.1 (2). We already have webvpn running on the firewall and has active users to use it. Now, the client came with a new requirement to configure firewalls on the same anyconnect. We have installed VPN more premium license.

    (1) is it possible to enable webvpn and anyconnect on the same interface. If Yes, what are the aspects we must consider to allow them both on the same interface?

    (2) how much webvpn and anyconnect vpn licenses should I do with my premium lincense?

    Please help on this.

    shver attached for reference.

    Best regards

    Sri

Your peers licenses AnyConnect Premium gives you the right to access SSL VPN without customer and focused on the customer.

Licensing is based on the concurrent users so regardless of the simultaneous dosing will work - as long as the number of connected does not exceed 100.

Your site to site VPN IPsec does not count against this permission, but is rather against "Other peer VPNS" which does not require a separate license and is limited by the capacity of the ASA equipment (750 on your platform).
