  I just downloaded the file without problem. Not sure that it is an EPS file? You will need to open it in an application that supports files .ai (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.). Let us know if you're still having problems.

  Thank you for your patience and to specify your query.

  As you say, you have created Smart Preview and unplugged the external hard drive.

  Now, if you apply the filter to the rejected images and try to delete the images, you will get the dialog box below.

  

  As you can see, it is said that it will remove the file only from the Lightroom Catalog.

  As it is impossible to find the source location, you will not be provided with an option to remove the images from the computer or external hard drive (in your case).

  The files will remain as it is on your external hard drive.

  If you want to remove the both original files, I you suggest to connect the hard drive and then choose Remove disk to remove the catalog, as well as an external hard drive.

  It seems that I last round and round with this new computer I almost from the first day.  It's just my last.  Windows backup will not work.  I tried to do a disc check, but who will also not unfold, I think he said that it is due to a recently installed software.  It is difficult to say that the screen is changing so fast even if I tried check disk several times just to read it (I guess I am a slow reader).  I checked recently install year there isn't anything other than Microsoft Security Essentials (they sent me the same update 3 times?) he says successful every time.  I have also updates from McAfee and Lenovo, but nothing suspicious.  I used OneKey Recovery (more recently) 05/10/2012 to return to IE 9, changed any settings, but I have only used Windows Easy Transfer to my music and documents.  I had problems on the first day about the standard user profile not being not able to save Favorites in IE 9, even today.  I can download, rip and burn CDs, no problem, I can access the internet via Google Chrome with IE 9.  When I used IE 9 as default and Norton security, I lost access and information about Internet Explorer were empty, have been the version number should have been.  I don't know what else to do now.  It looks like an another OneKey Recovery, followed of a check disk and start again.  McAfee says its about to expire, even if I have paid for an annual subscription 10/5.

  I suggest you manually save (photos, files and all the other important things) on a disk drive or thumb and perform a clean install and check if the problem persists.

  Hi, I just tried to synchronize. I am logged on LR5.4 and on mobile. I ran the sync once, that seemed to work. The next time that I'm connected, I got a dialog box saying "Sync has been turned off. This seems to be a backup catalog that can be updated with Lightroom mobile. "To do this, your catalog sync go in Edition > Preferences > mobile Lightroom and click on the button Delete all data.

  It is not a backup catalog, is my main and one alone, but I deleted all the data anyway. No difference. When I start the synchronization immediately made up the dialog.

  Any ideas?

  Scott, you mention in your post "the next time I logged in." do you have explicitly signed out of sync Lightroom Mobile on the desktop after you sync the first time?  Or you might need to reconnect on the launch.  If it's the latter, this should not occur and could be another indication that the catalog you have signed forward is not the same (that is a backup or a copy that is not state same you were when you last signed in).  This catalog is shared between both machines somehow?

  If you see this and you are certainly not in a backup catalog, you should be able to perform the following operations with Lightroom close.  This will work better if you did remove all the data, even if it is not mandatory.  If you do not, after relaunch of Lr, we will rebuild your sync status which can take some time depending on how much you have synced.  I wouldn't do this for any other situation.

  On OSX: In the Finder go /Users/Data / Sync.lrdata Library/Caches/Adobe/Lightroom/Sync and delete it.

  Windows: In explore go to C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Adobe\Lightroom\Caches\Sync.lrdata and delete it

  At the file never stored in a folder of synchronized cloud (i.e. Dropbox, Cloud Files, iDrive, OneDrive, GoogleDrive creative folder, etc.)? If so, these services provide generally access to all previous versions for a certain number of days, so you can recover the file in this way...

  Since I bought my new camera, I was extremely organized in my new photo folders. (organized by date, name of the event. ex: "YYYY-MM-DD - golf tournament").

  It's all about my 'external hard drive', in a folder called "photography hdd."

  tonight, I decided to go in a different folder on the same external hard drive (external hard drive > media > photos) that was never held. I used the same organization method mentioned above and created folders organized by date to reorganize these photos.

  then, when I was organizing the 'pictures' folder, I dragged all these organized by date records "photography-hdd", then deleted this folder "photos". in other words, I have added to my Lightroom main library folder where all the other those published were always.

  then I got the idea great to change the name 'photography hdd' to 'pictures', simply because it was more clean...
  

  Once in Lightroom, I did not know what to click to Update my file "photography hdd", now called "photos" in the Finder. so I think that I clicked and selected "update folder location" and selected the new 'pictures' folder (which was essentially the same folder as 'photography hdd' but with a new name - I guess it's this that mixed up Lightroom).

  Then, all the pictures are gone. None appeared.

  I decided to rename 'Photo' of 'photography hdd', hoping that Lightroom would recognize the name and then understand where the files are located. but it changed nothing.

  I saw that I had not a lot of options, I tried to synchronize the folder "photography hdd." It appeared as if I was importing 12000 new photos - I understood so that the pictures I had initially in it would be not be recognized even if I put the folder parent its original name "photography hdd."

  Please note: I haven't changed the names of file and their respective names organized by date file. all, I changed, it was the name of the parent folder, but I put it its original name. the BIG problem and the cause of all this, is that I did all my changes to folder in the Finder, and not in Lightroom.

  It may be better to use your last backup. Unzip the file and double-click the .lrcat file to launch your named catalog.

• What is normal for the backup of XP SP3 and the startup type of the removable storage service?

  I was getting ready to plan and attempt a clean full backup for tonight.  I have the backups created on several entities, currently backup but have a very stable system at the moment and wanted to try to make a clean backup file.  That day has finally arrived after been forced a corrupted system files hard drive failure "repair" critical and forced me to go back to SP1a (my Windows Genuine valid CD which I highly appreciate) in order to obtain any boot system, including safe mode and console mode.  Repair has presented many incompatibilities at the level of program and system, including the basic WMI and COM of the corruption system.  Three months later... it of time to update my backups and recovery procedures and hope that this does not happen!

  In preparation, I decided to refresh my memory on the use of the backup and by browsing the Help and Support Service Center files.  One of the first things I noticed was "storage removable service must be started for the backup works correctly."  Audit and inspection of my existing Services using computer (Local) management, I have observed that after a normal windows startup, the removable storage service is not started with manual startup type.  I use a USB drive connected as my backup media, and it is fully operational as a normally formatted NTFS data disk volume.  I have windows indexing disabled on this volume.  Is the type of service required removable storage of normal manual started?  The backup program will automatically start this service?  I know I've never manually started it myself and backups seem to work well.  Should we change the startup type to automatic?

  The Service will start (if capable) as soon as ntbackup.exe begins.

  If you want to see, with your Services window related to the function of RS place and it will not work and the manual.

  It's like aid and assistance...  Most of the people (including the technical support engineers who are hired by Microsoft) say to set the Startup Type to automatic, but you don't have to...  Set it to manual and it will start fine when he needs start (if he can).

  There is no need for these Services (and many other Services in XP) as starting at each restart and run all day without doing anything.

  Technically, a catalogue is not necessary, but it certainly is another layer of insurance.  You certainly not 'need' a server, but it is certainly preferable.   A server for an rman catalog alone would not be powerful or very important and should not be a burden for an organization whose databases you describe.  Avoiding a catalog rman in this situation is false economy.  Please note that if you want to run the catalog db itself on a separate server, if it is used exclusively as an rman repository, no additional license is required from Oracle.  (Oracle Database Licensing Information 11.2, publication E10594-26, pp. 1-9, 'Infrastructure Repository Database')

  Yes.  There is nothing magical about a recovery catalog.  It's just a different schema from database.  It contains metadata on the backups.  Nothing version dependent.  Now, the catalog itself (the collection of tables have been created in the catalogue schema) should be upgraded to the same level as the highest level of the rman client who will use it, but it's a command simple rman. It does not itself with the version of the database that hosts the catalog.

  I have never tried or seen a need.  All my scripts (shell scripting in linux, .cmd scripts under Windows) rman backup function on the server of the database to back up.

  It isn't really "can run us the rman from the catalog server script" but "can we run rman from a remote server from the saved database.  Why do you believe rman provides the syntax to connect to a remote database? (rman target user/pwd@orcl as sysdba)

• For non-hard drive backup catalog

  Since the passage in PES 10, I did successfully a full and an incremental backup - the two extremely slow process.  My collection of photos is a bit more than 11000 points.

  Then I tried an incremental backup and chose the previous incremental backup as the predicate.  The correct steps are quite clear and any backup approach seems ill-conceived. However, I'm confused.  2nd incremental backup also seems to take a long time, so I left for several hours.

  When I got home, I found my iMac as I've ever seen-a blue screen.

  I'm pretty disappointed with the design and performance of this backup system. All I really want it back up is the catalogue - there is no need to backup all the media, which she insists.  I have a Time Machine for people who I trust.
