Is it normal for the taskbar icons load erratically, badly or not at all?

For three or four months, as soon as I install the monthly updates, my taskbar becomes irregular in it takes over. The most frequent occurrence is the order in which the icons loading - that's no biggie. More recently, since 2 months, it takes 1 or 2 minutes to display all icons appropriate to pop up in a few seconds. In addition, apps loading ok at the start, but a poster an incorrect icon (everything works... just bad icon)-this has just begun since install update of today. Then there's weird sometimes when the icon is not at all... sometimes 2 icons. They are running... just not visible - and there is no expansion of the taskbar... It has not reduced.

Since the installation of update today, the MSE icon began loading ORANGE! -(ACK!). Run a quick scan turned green for several minutes - then back to orange. Run a full scan and cancellation after 20 seconds reset it in green and it remained so for several hours now. Hope it holds.
Incorrect icon is: the double computer with a red x for the connection to the Local - network a network cable is unplugged appears as a single computer, which is used to indicate my wireless connection - there is the computer only correct icon who is left with him.
I use only the MSE - no other cleansers, fix - sound, or ' Anti-Malware/Anti-Virus

If you still can't find the entry in the registry, download Autoruns.  Let it finish the scanning, then click the Services tab.  Find the name of the service 'wrong' in the left column ("Autorun entry").  Right click and select ' go to '.  You will go straight to the appropriate entry in the registry for editing.

I would like to examine what you load at startup. You should see if you have any programs from loading during the startup process, which can be changed on request. The best tool for this is Autoruns from Microsoft (freeware).
With Autoruns, you can deselect an item which disables startup, or you can click with the right button on an item, then remove it. If you clear the check box that you can check back for re - activate the element. It is an approach much safer than editing the registry and better than using msconfig.

  • using the taskbar icon made a right-click menu options 'tasks' disappeared

I'm on FF 34.0.5 running on Windows 7 Ultimate (V6.1 Build 7601, SP1). Since a few days the options of 'tasks' on the right, click on the menu of the taskbar icon disappeared. The rest is two (three times current running FF) lines: unpin and FF.
I tried the solution proposed by https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/994990 without success. The browser.taskbar.lastgroupid keeps returning to this string "E7CF176E110C211B" as the set of users.
I even uninstalled completely, including the folder in Program Files and my FF profile. None of the measures has helped.

The highest browser.taskbar... has the same value after re-installation. The key containing this value is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Mozilla\Firefox\TaskBarIDs, with two values "default = not defined" and "C:\\Program Files (x 86) \\Mozilla Firefox" = "E7CF176E110C211B."

How can I return this feature?
    Thanks for the help

  • After the 24 Firefox update, Windows 7 64-bit breaks on reboot. The network in the taskbar icon is not ready (blue circle stopped).

After 24 of Firefox update, Windows 7 breaks after the reboot. The network in the taskbar icon is not ready (blue circle on the wireless network icon). But I can't do much. I can't open the network and sharing Center (never opened). Even the Task Manager hangs when I click to show processes from all users. I have to do a system restore for a network working again. I never even launched Firefox.

Wow... I finally have the solution. Windows updates have been applied at the same time I updated Firefox. Bluetooth driver is what broke (which is part of the Centrino wireless). I ended up installing the latest driver from Intel, Windows Update, and then update Firefox... and all is well.

I thank very you much for all your help. Take care.

  • How to download the program Volume control for the taskbar

Where can I get the installer of the volume control for my taskbar. I've triedControl Panel >sounds and Audio devices > check "Place Volume in the taskbar icon .

When I check the box for "place volume icon in the taskbar" it gives me an error and says "Windows cannot display the control volume on the taskbar because the Volume control program has not been installed. To install it, use Add/Remove programs in Control Panel.

Where can I get the program from?

You mention that your netbook is HP. Most of the HP products have a recovery partition. If this is the case:

    -Click Start-> Run

    -Type in cmd

-Type in the following, substitute the C:\ and D:\ readers with your partition recovery and partition system respectively:

    Expand c:\i386\sndvol32.ex_ d:\windows\system32\dllcache\sndvol32.exe

    -Press enter, and then type:

    Expand c:\i386\sndvol32.ex_ d:\windows\system32\sndvol32.exe

    -Type exit and press ENTER.

Your Volume control should now be restored. You can check this by opening the sound and Audio Control Panel devices and by checking the box to the volume icon to Place in the taskbar.

If your problem is not solved or there is no such thing as a recovery partition after the return

    Hope this helps

    * original title - Erwan help needed, impossible to open the volume and the other softwares.*

    Hi Mike,.

    1. what happens when you open the sound icon and other software? You receive messages or error codes?

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

You can try to perform a clean boot and check if the problem persists.

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

You can read the following article to put the computer in a clean boot:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

After the troubleshooting steps, please refer to clean the boot link to put the computer to normal startup mode.

    Step 2:

You can also temporarily disable the security software and firewall installed on the system and check if the problem persists.

Note: Be sure to enable the security software on the computer after checking.

    Method 2:

You can read the following article to download the Microsoft Safety Scanner and perform a full scan on your computer.

    Microsoft safety scanner

Note: When you perform the analysis, there are chances of losing the data that you can take a backup of important data before performing analysis.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • My office and the taskbar icons keep disappearing.

Whenever I turn on my computer, my desktop icons and the taskbar disappear when I click on them.

I want to assure you that I do not understand what you wrote...

When you start your computer and login to your account, you can see all the icons and the taskbar. Yes?

But, when "clicked", all the icons and taskbar disappear. Yes?

If this is your situation, switch Mode without failure.

Shut down your computer > turn it back on and immediately and repeatedly tab key F8 until you see a black and white screen. The top/down arrow and selectSafe Mode with command prompt.

The taskbar and icons will stay put in safe mode?
If so, try the following suggestions: * at the end of each suggestion, check if the problem persists. If so, the following suggestion *.

    1. If you remember a good date when you did not have this problem, do a system restore.
Choose this good as your restore point date, if you can find that far behind.
Start button > Search box, type system restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

    2. If the above is not enough, do a file system check.

Start button > Search box type cmd > look up, do a RIGHT click oncmd.exe > click onRun As Administrator > in this window cmd black and white, type at the prompt flashing sfc/scannow > press theENTER key.
Note: there is a space between 'sfc' and ' / '.
To sit and wait. It will take time.
When finished, exit the cmd window.
    Reboot (restart your computer)

    3. create a new user account with the same privileges as your current.
Logon to this new account. The same problem persists?
If the problem goes away, then I would say that your old account is corrupted.

Here is the tutorial on what to do with the damaged user profile:

  • Some of the taskbar icons are blank sheets

Some programs such as Internet Explorer, MS Outlook 2007 and iTunes are on the taskbar as blank sheets. I tried to place shortcuts on the desktop and go into properties and change icon. It has worked for other programs but the button change icon in these programs are blackened. Tried to enter the path to the programs without success.

Is there anyway to make the icons for the programs show?

    Thank you!

I have this problem, had to do a hard reset because of the loss of output video/media center crash on restart my Firefox Firstclass & icons are now leaves white, very annoying. Delete iconcache.db fix does not work. I was able to restore the icon to exe files, but the icons pinned Taskbar & Start menu, items do not update.
    My dose is as follows:

    Step 1:
click Start > right click on the program in the start menu > properties > Shortcut tab > change icon > Browse (go to exe for this program) > select exe file > open > choose appropriate options icon. > ok > ok > if you get a message saying that only an administrator can do this, click on continue to apply the change.

Step 2: start a session application & while it is running to right click on the taskbar icon > detach this program > new right click (watch now icon because it represents the application running, not the shortcut) > pin this program

I'm not a fan of the new taskbar of the mac either style, it open & navigate several sessions of programs is tedious, especially when the previews seem to almost identical & if different programs use the same icon he adds to the confusion. Y at - it an option of the 'Classic' taskbar somewhere like the classic view for Control Panel, that they used to offer?

  • How to change the settings for the taskbar in Windows 7.

Anyone know if its possible to change the settings for the taskbar for the other windows or games can cover or be on top of the taskbar. I have my taskbar set to the top of the screen and when I start Flight Simulator Microsoft in full-screen or 1920 x 1080, he fills the entire screen except the upper part which is the bar of tasks, and because of this the windows sim who loses more space and shows its own menu with windows that... yet once loses more than space. The vertical extent of real world it takes away 1 inch of space on the screen that I find pretty ridiculous. These two programs are both manufactured by Microsoft, in my opinion, that they must work with each other, so I hope that im missing something in 2015?

Right click on the bar tasks once run-> advanced-> click disable_topmost options->, icon 7TT

Enter 2 (starting from 0)-> click on apply and ok

    * Note that the program must execute to the difficulty of working so defined to run at startup during installation

This program does a lot of things, but this will allow your taskbar to stay in place and allow it to be covered by windows.

    Hi David,

By design, we cannot create shortcut on the desktop for Mail App Mail App isn't a desktop program, it is designed to work in the modern user interface Interface.

For example, you can pin Google Chrome in Start Menu and taskbar. But where you open it open only in desktop mode, because it's a desktop program.
