ProDesk G2 SFF 600 HP: HP ProDesk 600 G2 LTS cannot boot from USB or DVD

We have 50 HP ProDesk 600 G2 SFF pcs and we need to install Windows 7.i can't boot from usb or DV.

Please can someone advice me what to do?

Thank you.

Hello:

We must go into the BIOS, turn on legacy mode and disable secure boot to install W7.

Then you must also run this tool to set the USB3 drivers in your W7 usb flash drive.

    Hello

I received a new HP ProDesk 600 G1 yesterday and have had no luck getting it to begin on a USB key or external hard drive USB.  I normally install our image Corp. (Win 7 x 64 business) via the USB port.  In the Setup program, the key USB and USB HD are detected, but no matter what I put in the boot order when selecting F9 for boot options, the USB device is not available.

    Suggestions?

    Thank you...

Problem solved.  In the Bios under Boot Secure - Legacy Support, Setup I changed to "Enabled".

For Secure Boot, I changed it to disabled.

  • G2 600 SFF: Question on Windows 7 Pro + license 600 G2 LTS Pro Windows 10

Hi, I recently bought a 600 SFF G2 which was provided with Win7 - 64 Pro, but which was supposed to include a license to win 10 Pro. The device comes with a DVD of Win7 and a HP DVD driver, but instead of a Win10 DVD or license, they included a phamplet who said I was eligible to receive a copy of the recovery of Windows 10 media and HP driver support. I was insutructed to save my computer and ask my copy. I registered my computer, but it wasn't at all clear as to how I could get my copy of each media (driver Win10 and HP). Can someone give me a link or URL that will allow me to get these media (which I assume must be free of charge)? And the Win10 Pro OS will have its own key, or is the key to good machine for Win7 Pro and Win10 Pro? Any help would be greatly appreciated because I was told initially that they would be included in my PC:

"This system is pre-installed with Windows 7 Professional (64 bit) software and also comes with a license and support for Windows Professional 10 software (64-bit)."

    Thank you

Someone at - it ideas please?

    see you soon

    Hello:

On my 8200 Elite CMT, you can change some information like that... to see if it works for your model.

After entering the Setup by pressing the F10 key, press on Ctrl + A to open additional fields in the security > system menu IDs.

You can change/enter the serial number of your PC in the inventory and serial number of the chassis number in application areas.

Save the changes then and once when you exit the BIOS.

  • HP Elitedesk 800 G2 SFF: external hard drive not detected in the BIOS. Only USB Flash drives are detected.

    Hi all

I received recently 2 new HP desktop computers.

    HP Elitedesk 800 G2 SFF

    HP Elitedesk 800 G2 TWR

The goal is to test our real W7 x 64 image on these machines and to inject the missing drivers in the image.

MDT 2010 to create a deployment on a USB hard disk drive.

This disc of deployment is already used on 16 different models of HP in the company (Elitebook, zBook, EliteDesk) to install our image so I know it works.

Unfortunately, the two HP Elitedesk 800 G2, I can't start the boot disk but I cannot to USB for a USB key.

The USB drive is not detected and not proposed in the BIOS Menu of STARTUP.

Only the internal HD, external USB Flash Disk, DVD and network devices are detected.

Here's what I already checked or tried:

    • Latest Version of the BIOS installed (2.05)
    • UEFI Boot has been disabled. (not supported by our record of deployment)
    • USB ports are enabled (front and rear).
    • All types of USB devices are allowed in the BIOS
    • The start command has been changed to start with USB devices.
    • Legacy support is active and Secure Boot disabled
    • Delete the keys to secure boot
    • Reset secure by default startup keys
    • This morning, I created a new disk deployment on a USB Flash drive and it works!

So, it seems that only Flash USB drives are detected.

I know it is possible to return the flag removalble on a USB device to cheat the system and make it appear as a disk fixed, but I want a simple solution.

Does anyone know a fix or a workaround for this problem?

    Thanks in advance!

For those interested in the answer, here's the final results.

It turns out that the hard 500 GB external drive can be detected if it is fomatted in FAT32.

It's strange because my 16 GB USB Flash drive formatted in NTFS works very well.

In any case, I'll create a FAT32 Partition to the Boot MDT files and put my picture (because the file is too big for FAT32 partition) on the secondary partition (formatted as NTFS).

Thanks to the technical pre-sales team of HP who helped me with this!

  • Portege 3480CT: how to make a USB bootable floppy drive?

I need help to make a USB bootable floppy drive.
My laptop 3480CT has not the traditional floppy drive instead, it uses a USB floppy drive and the bios has an option to boot from USB FDD.

I would like to use a USB key to start (a Lexar Jumpdrive 32 MB 05dch 0080 h and GTX 1 GB 1516 h pid pid 8628 h), instead of the floppy. I want to load the boot XP on floppies, so I run recovery programs using chkdsk.

I tried the usual suspects, the bootloader makebootfat and mkbt20 HP.
I tried the demo version of the commercial product Flashboot.
I photographed a floppy back 5.0 system on the USB key using the I-Setup demo.
All failed including the specific option in the makebootfat images for FDD option and 3 different options of Flashboot.

    I ran
    http://Enos.itcollege.EE/~mkalme/Pahn/tut/tut.html

Using Hexplorer ICY, I was able to confirm that the DOS5.0 on the boot sector pendrive is identical to the diskette.
I could start in Dos5.0 from a floppy disk with drivers USB Panasonic and confirm that my Lexar was a system of 1.44 MB disk and command.com displayed in the directory. The GXT is not recognized by the Panasonic, nor BACK USB drivers to Duse 4.4 4.9. Another worrying indicator, it is my computer XP did not see all of the files on the pendrives, not command.com, or two hidden files (view all the hidden files option).

I learned that Transcend a specific option that creates a bootable 1.44 mb floppy
    image on their USB key.

Here is what I have gathered, corrections and suggestions are welcome.

Interface USB the USB protocol specifications

    bInterfaceSubClass field specifies the Protocol
01 order reduced block (RBC) a flash device
UFI 04 a floppy drive floppy drive
05 FDD SFF-8070i SFF-8070i command blocks however, funding may be in a different subclass for example RBC

bInterfaceProtocol field specifies the transport protocol
00 control/Bulk/Interrupt (CBI) with break of completion for FFD only
01 CBI without interruption of completion for the FDD only
transport in bulk only 50 h, including priming

I don't know if the USB controller must imitate the FDD Protocol.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

You cannot boot from the USB key.
The BIOS of the laptop does not support something like that.
Laptop factory supports and use different BIOS versions. As far as I know on this laptop Toshiba BIOS was installed.

To my knowledge this BIOS does not support booting from the USB key, but only the HDD, ODD, LAN or USB - FDD.
If you want to boot from USB FDD, you can create a bootable FDD floppy.
Windows operating system creates the boot floppy drive when you right click on the connected floppy drive and select format. Then simply choose the option create MS-DOS startup disk start.

  • Ability to burn a DVD with factory WIN7 Pro 64 from a USB?

Recently bought a Compaq Elite 8200 SFF, after a few hours of use that I urged to create a WIN7 DVD factory as soon as possible. Had only DVD - RW empty records at the time (not good to burn the file WIN7), so I chose the alternative of the installfile from the factory on a USB and burn the DVD from the USB key later. My 8 GB key was little short KB of space, so I used a key to 32 GB... However, this does not work, the file WIN7 does not appear on the USB key (even if I enable hidden files). Maybe something was wrong, during the copy process because I can not boot from USB with the factory alleged WIN7 version, however, check the USB shows that about 8 GB of space (corresponding roughly to the drive WIN7 factory) is "occupied" by something. I´d like to use the 32 GB key for other purposes. However, the files on the USB factory settings are corrupt, or it is not possible to make a DVD (license problems?) once the default WIN7 was copied on the USB key? Any ideas?

    Hello:

Unless your specific PC came with a bunch of software such as MS Office 2010 that you paid for a license and other software, all you really need is to be able to reinstall windows 7 on a new hard drive or your existing, correct?

All drivers and most of the software except for CD and DVD burning programs are on the support page and driver Elite SFF 8200.

    So, all this...

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

    http://www.mydigitallife.info/official-Windows-7-SP1-ISO-from-Digital-River/

You can then get a portable hard drive and after installing all of your programs and drivers, etc., you can use the windows backup tool 7 and create a system image that you store on your portable hard drive. You can update this image any time you want and if you need to reinstall the operating system for a reason, you plug your storage device USB with the backup to this topic image, you use the W7 DVD do you, boot from it, select Repair in the lower left corner of the Setup screen , select restore backup, that it points to your image on the device of portable storage and you go.

Worst case scenario, is that you will always have your installation of W7 plain DVD you did, which will install on any size of HARD, including an SSD drive.

You can test that the DVD you made work by starting her and just do not proceed with the installation.

BTW, you can install up to 32 GB of memory in your PC.

  • ProDesk 600 G2 Mini: A Mini 600 G2 a NVMe M.2 SSD startup ProDesk?

    Hello

I recently bought a G2 Mini ProDesk of 600 which I am very happy with. However, I can't the computer to start from the m2 NVMe SSD I installed it. There is no problem to use it as a second drive in Windows and also no problem Windows installation on it, but even though I can see it in the BIOS and select to boot from, I get a message "no boot device."

Is it possible that a new machine that has a port of m2 in height, cannot manage boot from a drive is? HP has no information that I can find on this issue, or can someone help me find it? Anyone know?

    Best regards

    Tommy

I had a similar problem with the mini HP ProDesk 600 G2 and Plextor PX-G128M6e.

He helped disable legasy and loading security modes in the BIOS: Advanced-> Security Boot Configuration-> Legasy support turn off and disable secure boot.

And also disable PCIe power management: Advanced-> Power Management Options-> PCI Express Power management.

Without disable Windows power management could won't start the SSD with errors:

"The application or the operating system could not be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors.
    File: \Windows\system32\winload.efi
    "Error code: 0xc0000185.

After these settings Windows installs and runs correctly since the SSD drive.

P.S., Plextor PX-G128M6e is M.2 AHCI PCIe SSD, not NVMe, but can also be useful to someone.

  • Win 8 on Touchsmart 600-1055?

My Touchsmart 600-1055 (exactly 3 years from dec / 2013) has experienced a hard drive failure. I bought a new hard drive but have no restore disc and HP don't use them more for this model.

So: Did anyone see a problem with the installation of Windows 8 on this old system? I understand that it may not work because of drivers... but that's it or throw the PC, which is always a great PC for some uses.

    I appreciate the answers.

    Hello

Windows 7 is still the best at this stage, but if you want to switch to Windows 8, it's your choice and you will need to find one or two drivers for your computer. A lot of friends in this forum will help you.

    Kind regards.
