Is it possible to design business cards

I am a newcomer in the world of Photoshop Elements, in fact I've only loaded the program on my computer 10 minutes ago.

While browsing through Photoshop Elements I noticed that in the section 'Create' so that it can do most of the things I don't see if you could

design business cards, someone has already tried this & how successfully.

You can design a card with PSE (complete Edition, simply create a blank document the size of a card and do what you want), but the ESP is not good for the printing plates cards. You register your card in an image as tiff format and place it in a model (you can get free biz models of cards of all the companies that sell the pre cut, like Avery stock) in your page layout or word processing program. PSE is before all a photo editor and has many limitations as layout of page/word processing software. This is not really what it is intended.

I'm currently designing the business card in photoshop CC but when I jum + my design so I know it is not perfact. It wouldn't be good for printing. But what application would be perfact.s.PNG

Illustrator or InDesign are the best choices for business cards.

Photoshop is for image editing, and although it can work with text, it is not the best choice for typographic control, nor the most intuitive to make layouts.

  • I can't print business cards

I bought a HP Officejet Pro 8500 a and Print artist version 23. I use the software and design business cards, take the A4 (which is a product of Avery 8571) and then print. The end result is the printer prints about 1/4 inch on the brands of preferated to the left. The alignment is off and I ruined sheets of cards preferated. I use regular paper now just to see if I can solve the problem but after exhausting all possibilities including choosing A5 and the creation of business cards 2x3.50 on the software, the printer still refuses anything else print that off to the left.

    Any suggestions?

I thought of her after hours of changing the settings in the Print artist program. The setting must be on the cards own Cup istead a4 as Avery said.

  • Design a business card - result comes out too small

I have some experience with Flash Professional CS5 and use it to help design a business card.  So I'm not creating an application to create a business card.  I'm creating a static design I'll probably export as image and take to a printer.  I feel more comfortable in using Flash to do this at this stage.  The design looks good in Flash CS5, but when I export, it is too small.  I measured a physical 87 mm x 49 mm adapter, so I made the step of this size, using millimeters.

I exported as a PNG, print design and it comes out like 66 mm x 37 mm - the correct proportions but it is about 75% of the size I want!  I tried editing design and open the HTML in a browser, but it always comes out looking for little ones.

What I am doing wrong?  I guess I could anticipate the narrowing and define my step to 116 mm x 65 mm which seems silly.  Why should I do this?

If you take your work to a printer, first call and get the specifications of what kind of files they will accept. My guess is that the .psd files would be one of them. You can also get the specifications for resolution, sometimes called points per inch (DPI) that really matches pixels by when we're talking resolution 'screen '.

The reason why I propose 300 dpi for printing is because it's more or less the lowest resoultion standard used for printing... and it could even go higher.

It's so any image, jpg, png, tiff, gif 1050 wide x 600 pixels high, when printing at 300 ppi will be exactly 3.5 in. by 2 in. (card format). The only time where it would be larger print is if you use a lower print resolution... say 150dpi... then it would print 7 x 4 in.

BUT then the printer would be taken exactly same amount of ink and spreading it over a much larger area, with the result a much lower quality photo. By placing points of ink closer together (300 points per inch rather than only 150 points of ink) the quality is much higher.

But your best bet is to speak directly to the printer, they will have the exact specifications, they are looking for.

    Good luck!

  • I want to buy an inventory item, to use for the logo on the Web site and business cards.  Is this possible?

I'll build a Web site.  I would like a logo that I can use on the site and printing of business cards.  Can I buy a single stock point, vector and achieve this goal?

Use the images as a logo is against the license agreement. You cannot save a stock image such as a logo, they are publicly available.

  • LaserJer Pro 200 M351nw: residues of toner to print business cards

When I print on bond paper, I get a decent, crisp image. But when I print on card stock thre is a powdery residue on the paper. I can drag it with a handkerchief and get a significant amount of powder on the tissue.

I remember reference to paper stock that is sutiable for color lasers, but I can't find it all in stock business cards anywhere I looked. It is apparently a special paper.

I went through the type of paper in the printer properties. The only problem is when I print business cards. Is currently trying Avery 5876 and 8876 and Office Depot 3700-R. The 5867 and 3700-R are labeled for use in color lasers. The 8876 is inkjet. Same negative results with all.

All proposals/solutions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @1071 ,

I see by your post only when printing on cards, you get powdery residue on the paper.
I want to help you solve this problem.

You have the Laserjet LaserJet Pro 200 M251nw?  How can I find my model number or product number?

Usually, when there are residues, burrs, tasks of toner left on the pages is caused by the paper used or the type of paper selected in the printer driver. You already tried different types of paper and had the same results.

The Avery 5876 you tried are Laser printers.

It is recommended to use bright white paper or paper that is designed for use in Laser printers.
Don't use paper that is designed only for use with ink jet printers.
Progress of paper is porous and for printers inkjet that absorbs ink in the paper.
Paper Premium isn't for Laserjet printers. Chemicals and the ink soaks into the paper and takes more time to dry.
Use paper that is not too rough. Generally using smooth paper translates into a better print quality.

I have provided the specifications of paper for this model.

Specifications for HP LaserJet Pro 200 M251n and M251nw color printer.

Up to 200 g/m2 (110 lb. index) cards

I have a document with a few steps to try to see if this will solve the problem.

    Troubleshooting print quality problems.

What is the weight of the cardboard?

What parameter for the type of paper do you use?

If you need help, let me know.

    Have a great day!

I am trying to print business cards using Avery 2 faces of business cards printable 5876.

When I print a test out of my biz on plain paper # 20 cards and adjust the settings so, everything goes well and a walk test using the regular stock # 20 everything comes out great!  But when I put in the stock cards Avery and hit go, the printer goes much more slowly while the scenario and images very dark with excess of toner on the card only stock.  But not on the paper stock. Why is this?

Should I should change the settings for the automatic printer paper what setting for business cards?  If so, in what context? -Special papers, greeting cards, paper brochure or what?  PLEASE NOTIFY.

    Thank you

Hmm...  I just did a search on the card stock you use, it is designed for laser printing, do not ink jet.  That being the case, I suggest to try the thick paper or plain paper for the paper type.  The product of 8877 Avery may be a better choice for your inkjet printer.

  • InDesign CS6 10 - up business card? Where is the model?

Already have the design... does anyone know where I can find the place 10 model, so I can put the card out there? Thank you...

Also... need to design a new logo today or tomorrow... anyone have the right techniques for a super simple two letter logo?

Adobe has no rele4ased all-new models since CS4. You can always find those for download via InDesignSecrets.com.

The model you have is actually an Indesign 2.0 file that has been updated to CS5. It is worth noting special about her, or any other template file that you would use to make your OWN business card layout. In this case, you place your card 10 times in the model. If you want a back side, add a page to both your one - up and up - 10 files, build back on the one-up and the palce that ten times (or use step and repeat, as I'll explain in a moment) in the ten dans le dix-up page - up page.

You have not told us anything about this tutorial, so I can't help with where this model comes maybe. but you can make your own, or do without one entirely, using the Step and repeat in the Edit menu. Place your image of the only card on the page more in the position of the upper left corner, and then click Edit > step and repeat...

Check the box of the design grid, and then set the number of columns to 2 and 4 lines and check the preview box. The value shifts. Your current model looks like it uses an offset 2.1375 vertical and horizontal 4.25.

  • Create two-sided business cards

    Nice day

I design my card in PS (even though I know I should do it in Illinois, but not the point here).

Now my business card has a front and back... In illustrator, I would create two work plans. What would I do in Photoshop? Extend the canvas to double the size? Or can I create a separate for the back file?

What is the correct way to print a point of view?

    Thank you

I recommend the creation of two files.

And please keep the purge necessary in mind in the case where the background is not white or elements cross the edge.

  • Indesign XML business cards help

I'm designing for the company that I work a new business card, we have approximately 270 employees across about 5 different offices around the world.

    We collected data from employees using a web form. The fields are < first > < Center > < last > < title > < email > < direct > < office > < mobile > < linkedin > < twitter > and < location >

I'm trying to conceptualize now how to set up the card to work right now (IE pull in data and look always good) (the design is already approved) but I never thought about how the XML will fill on the map.

That's how the map is provided on some of the fields on the same line and he has justified to the left as shown here.

    < FIRST > < MIDDLE > < LAST >

    < TITLE >

    E-mail: < EMAIL >

    Live: < DIRECT > | Office: OFFICE <> | Mobile: < MOBILE >

    www.LinkedIn.com/in/< LINKEDIN >

    Twitter: < TWITTER >

    < LOCATION > | www.ABCCOMPANY.com

    So here are my questions:

    1. If I'm mapping XML to paragraph styles how fields will move properly for the first medium and the name based on the amount of characters each?
    2. on the phone number line, some people are not add in the office number, some offices have odd numbers with international prefixes etc indesign will sink the elements correctly or is there some text on text or gaps (if they do not fill a field)

I am really amazed at the present time and in the hope of an ah-ha moment.

Please repost in the InDesign forum.

  • What is the ideal program of Adobe to create business cards?

I wanted to have the opinion of all on what program use for business card design?

I took a glance online and 3 products (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop) Adobe all have discussion on the creation of cards in them. One of them is better? If so, why?

InDesign has a lot more typographic controls and other features for working with type, but it is a page layout application, the first and the place. You can perform tasks simple illustration using the pen tool and forms, but ID lack of sophistication of the Illustrator for the tasks of the illustration, brushless, without fill patterns and any mixes, for example. ID, or HAVE everything can thus same edit the pixels in an image of Miss other that apply some effects and blend modes.

Business cards are usually a very simple layout. As such, they do not tax abiliites from any tough program - you can even do a job fair in Microsoft Word, if you struggle a little bit. If the task will require heavy illustration, Illustrator may be the best choice on ID, since you probably don't have a lot of sophistication typographic as several columns or anchored objects. If you need to manipulate a photo for the background, Photoshop is the place to be, and you can define type there, too, with limited capabilities.

On the other hand, if you plan to make the projects more and they will be more complex or need several pages, InDesign is by far the application of choice for most of us to do the layout. If you use art that already exists and just design the page, not to create the logo or color correct photography, you won't need Illustrator or Photoshop, but like Bob I highly recommend to get that parcel on in order to have all the tools you need as you'll be.

    Welcome to the HP Forum.

Try the following with your label template:

    Avery Wizard for Microsoft® Office

If you don't have Word, you can use the software online and then print on your printer.

    If you like:

Click on through the creation of a model, and you can create a template of "plain".

Add what you want each / all business cards.  You can add tiny photos or Clip-Art to the corners to customize each card and / or add funds.  Add text in any format desired for each card.

    ============================================================================

The template creates a standard Word .docx document - any type of file owner fantasy.

Set your printing preferences for media > Brochure glossy or similar so that the printer waits the thick card stock.

  • I am trying to print business cards

I just bought a HP Photosmart C4480 all-in-One. I tried to print business cards using the type of stock perforated (equivalent to Avery L7414).

I can't match the top margin so that printing starts within the perforated area. If I use plain paper that it lines up properly. When I use the cardstock I get different higher margins even if I do not change the setting. It's like as if the map is slippery in the printer after it gets taken up by the rollers and prior to printing. Advice please on what to try a solution?

Always looks like a mechanical problem, however changing software shouldn't solve the problem if this was true. In any case, I'm glad that you were able to find something that works. My last word of the Advisor; stick with what works.
