Is it possible to disable a spot color

Hello

Probably a stupid question, but I'll ask anyway. Is it possible to disable a spot color in CS4. I can do effectively by creating a white spot and merging the spot color I want to remove the white spot by using the ink alias. However, this leaves a spot color in the pdf high resolution at the end of th of employment. Then, this is a problem since we use an online proofing system that fails the flightcheck given that a spot color in the pdf file.

See you soon

Put it on a layer of its own and change the print no attributes or change the color of 0% CMYK. Just leave the name of the spot color so that you can return to it if necessary.

  • It is possible to disable the custom color picker color?

    Hi guys!

    I searched in the discussions on the color picker, but I found something...

    It is possible to disable the option to select a custom color? I work in a company that makes software to Brazilian clients, and not everyone understands English phrases...

    In other words it is the translation of the option, but I don't know if it is possible also.

    Thank you!

    You certainly need to add the stylesheet to the scene, not to anything else. If you take my example and change

    scene.getStylesheets ()...

    TO

    root.getStylesheets ()...

    you will see that it won't work anymore.

    The difference between that and the css that you used, it's that the css you used is applied to the selector button display color; You should apply styles to the popup (color palette), who does not appear in your VBox or AnchorPanes. Notice how the police changed to the name of the color in the button, but it has not changed for the label of 'Personal colour' you are trying to remove.

    Somewhere there is a code that adds the VBox you are subclassing of a scene and this decoration in a stadium. Your best option (maybe second best option, see below) is to find this code, you can add the style sheet to the scene itself.

    If you are working within a framework of someone else wrote and cannot access or modify the code where the scene is set, you have another option I see. Each node has a stage property that refers to the scene which this node belongs. So you can observe the changes made to this property and when it is updated, add the style sheet to the scene.

    So here's a hack to make my original hack works, in case you can not directly access the scene for some reason any:

    final String suppressCustomColorCss = getClass().getResource( "noCustomColorPicker.css").toExternalForm();
    colorPicker.sceneProperty().addListener(new ChangeListener() {
     @Override
      public void changed(ObservableValue observable,
      Scene oldScene, Scene newScene) {
      if (newScene != null) {
      List cssClasses = newScene.getStylesheets();
      if (!cssClasses.contains(suppressCustomColorCss)) {
      cssClasses.add(suppressCustomColorCss);
      }
      }
      }
    });

    This code basically says "when the color selector becomes an integral part of a new scene, add the stylesheet to this scene.

    At this point, you're applying notch on top of hack to get the effect you need. I think if I were in this situation I would not go ahead and define my own color chart. What you really need is a menu button, a property for the selected color and a popup with a layout of controls allowing to choose an arbitrary color. It would be a bit of work, but shouldn't be too hard. If you take this option (which I think may be your best bet), it's more work now but it will be clear what you do - when you (or other programmers on your team) eventually return to the code, you will understand how it works much better.

    You must also file two requests for features. An API toggle the option of choosing a custom color, as this seems to be a reasonable piece of functionality to have. The other should be properly internationalized text for the labels in the selector of colors, which are currently just hard coded in the code source in English.

  • Spot color mixed CMYK?

    Hello

    Is it possible, in mixture of CMYK color gradient, to replace one of the colors with a spot?  For example, instead of C20 M5 Y100 K60% % to C20% Y100 K60% % PANTONE5%?

    # This is not how it works, since you could not print this way. A spot of color would be a separate ink plate and therefore you should create a distinct gradient for her and use the simulation of the overprint and mode multiply.

    PANTONE + does not match the previous Pantone spot color chart. I have several customers who are using spot colors in logos etc and now these colors are a mess. Can I get and use the old color for Illustrator books?

    Well, the spot color has not changed, but the way they were simulated four-color changed, they now use color management to get to the nearest ink possible task.

  • How can I get a CMYK or Gray scale halftone and replace it with a spot color with the same value of midtones?

    Is it possible that I can select an object or objects that have a value of mixed CMYK or Grayscale, and then select a Spot color and it will keep the same value of midtones as before?

    For example, I have an object that is C: 0 M: 0 Y: 0 k: 20 and I select Reflex Blue. What is happening is it change my object to 100% Reflex Blue. Is there a way to change to automaitically Reflex Blue 20%?

    Another example, I have 3 objects, one is 20 k: the second is 40 k: and the third is KC: 85. I want to select all the objects in three at the same time, select Yellow PANTONE and get them to change yellow PANTONE 20, 40 yellow PANTONE and PANTONE yellow 85.

    Is there a way to do it or I will always have to manually edit each element?

    Thanks for the help.

    Select the elements to recolor

    Edit > edit colors > redefine > follow my screenshots

    I love clicking this button under the entitlement, one place for everything that you color reduction settings.

    Use tinted scale. Exact will give you 100% of the color. The exact word is confusing here, this means that the color of the destination (100% of everything that the color you choose), not a version tinged scale.

    Unfortunately I do not know how to get the exact values of blacks to convert the exact values of spot color. Scale of hues will you get you get you close enough for what you need. In my example that a black 89% converts a 84% of the place, so no exact but alteast I have a range of shades, and sometimes the results are better than accurate, depends on your art.

  • Library spot colors?

    Hello

    When you use the libraries in Illustrator CC 2014 (version 1.1) Panel, whenever I click on 'Add the fill color' when using a spot for example color Pantone 2756C appears in the color library 60 # 262 and, when used in a document is converted in the process (C - 100_ %, M-92.77%, Y - 32_ %, K-17.15%).

    Is it possible to keep it as a spot color when adding to the CC library?

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Spot color

    I replaced a green in a CMYK with Pantone 354U image, and although the resulting color is correct he always appears as a CMYK color and not the task of color I want. Is this possible?

    In order to use spot colors, you need to change or add a channel that would use that color and then fill this information channel to indicate the amount and intensity of the use of this spot color black, white and gray.

    When you say replaced you the Green (K) CMYB with a Pantone, looks like you selected green color in your image (that would result from a mix of values on channels, given that no green channel) and then replaced by the selected Pantone, you did not not using channels, which means that you actually replaced it with a color of CMYK equivolent not a spot color.

  • Choice of spot color definitions

    How can I make my choice of definitions of persistent tones? I read a kb article that says how to swap all the new books of color Pantone Plus for the 'old', to maintain the parity of color with older versions. One of the steps has me leaving "Tones" on the Swatches palette by selecting "use CMYK values... "instead of"use LAB values... ". ». I don't want to have to do that with all the files. Is it possible to make that choice persistent?

    When you create new documents Illustrator open instances unregistered regular Illustrator documents that are selected using the new profile Menu of the Document in the window of the new dialog box. The profiles you see in this menu are like others. Files HAVE a file that is displayed when you choose Browse... in this menu.

    Simply create a new document with your spot color definition and what you want to do when you create a new document and save to this location or use Browse... in the new menu profile Document to select and Illustrator will remember you choice until you make another choice. You can also replace or modify the files used for the profiles that came with the installation.

  • Creation of production files with spot color layered screens

    I'm the task of recreating a job 2 colors (cyan and magenta) , after a thorough inspection of the printed sample submitted with a magnifying glass, magnifying glass, I see a certain part is dark purple as the cyan and magenta used on-site are layered in this area.

    How should I design the production folder so that it is clear that the 2 plates that will be created from said file will result in plates, which have screens of the dowry of two colors in one place so that when it is used the press to produce the purple shadow combined?

    Thank you

    Mathias (master of convolutedly long sentences)

    With cyan and magenta, only it isn't a problem. Sure just your design contains no black or yellow. Use the panels of color and color chart to produce and store mixtures of cyan and magenta to color your design elements.

    But in your title, you say 'spot color screens' which is a little more complex because Illie stores not mixtures of spot colors in the color chart.

    So you will have to work with overprints and saw the overlay turned on while you are working.

    The other possibility is to work in false color, using magenta saying for red and cyan for blue spot.

    Nothing prevents you to work this way and I did occasionally, but you will need to carefully explain what you do to your printer, and is not a bad idea to add a color legend to your work to make sure that your false color is printed in tones right.

  • Find the spot colors in the document

    I prepare a document for printing, and when I go to the package for output I get a message that there are a handful of spot colors in addition to the CMYK. Is it possible I can get InDesign to show me where in my document these tones are? (There are many graphics placed in many pages) I can't seem to find a 'show' or 'page number' for these colors. In addition, if the CMYK symbol appears to the right of the point of color in the Panel swatched, am I good as went to press?

    Maybe the satest to see where the spot colors are in use is to open the Activ separations and separations Preview Panel, and then click the eyeball next to CMYK. Everything left on the page is your direct. If you do not see a spot color in the Panel, there are none in use.

    You asked if it was safe to go to print with stains, and the answer is that it depends. Are paying you extra for the spot colors? If this isn't the case, Swatches Panel flyout menu choose Manager of inks, then check the box to convert all Spots to process and for the best conversion to any known color space, check the box to use the Lab values as well. Don't know what you mean by seeing the CMYK symbol to the right of the swatch - which means that it is not RGB, but there are two small icons there and the one on the left will tell you if the color is spot on, but neither one will tell you if it is transposed to the process in the ink Manager.

  • A way to determine where they use spot colors in color?

    Hello

    Is it possible to determine where a spot color is used in your art?

    I know in InDesign, you can open the separation Preview Panel and cut the rest of the colors.  Is there a method similar to Illustrator?

    Thank you

    Ed

    Since CS4 there.  What version do you use?

    If cs3 or below, save in pdf format and open in acrobat (pro, no player) to see the separations.

    I don't think that it is possible to set a background color the buttons of the label on the Windows taskbar-specific because this bar is under the control of the Windows operating system.

    What is displayed above is to set a specific color to tabs in a Firefox window.
