is it possible to upgrade/degrade my vista because of bugs?

Is it possible to degrade/update my windows vista free to 7/xp, all the time since I bought it (I think it's more than a year ago) it was screen 'look', when I play a game like counter-strike: Source or Titan quest (almost all funny games) it takes like 20 seconds to 1.5 hours, and then it gets buggy as next points on the screen in green squares of purple and lines of walls and characters and everything so I don't even know what I'm doing, it's so boring when he's like that. the only thing that works for me it is CTRL + ALT + DELETE, and then click Cancel, but then it takes like 25 seconds and he returned once again, even more

Hello OscarH1993.

All first to the top make sure you have the latest video drivers installed for your machine, if you post back with what graphics card you are using, we can help you further.

Symptoms that you describe are almost always because of old video drivers or even worse, a faulty hardware or overheating.  Change just the OS probably won't help any.

Get the latest drivers for rule than to go out and give the events a good clean out.

  • Is it possible to upgrade from Windows 98 or Me to Windows Vista?

I'm having a discussion with a colleague.  Does anyone know if it is possible to do an UPGRADE of Windows 98 and Windows ME for Vista?  Or you have to do a clean install of Vista?  Can you upgrade from Windows 98 and Windows ME to XP and then move from XP to Vista?  Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know if it is possible to upgrade 98 Me XP, but I know you can't straight upgrade 98 to vista. You can only pass a single version, so it should be XP to vista.

  • Free upgrade to Win7 possible after eligible Win7RC on Vista installation?

This has not been answered in the FAQ

I just bought a TX2-1615au eligible for the upgrade.

I don't want to learn Vista (still on XP) so I want to install Win7 Release Candidate immediately.

By releasing Win7, I'll be able to install the free Win7 Upgrade after October 22, because he will not be able to test a valid Vista Home Premium?

"I installed XP and Windows 7 RTM and dual boot works perfectly.

    Thanks Dexter!

Looks like it's going to be the way forward with confidence .

The Australian magazine PC Authority of September 09 explains how to redo installing Dual Boot of Vista Win7RC. The DVD cover contains the software for me to save a large download.

Actually using Vista, XP users, is not as hard as I thought. I can just run with minimal applications installed on Vista and then move to Win7 after October 22, hoping that the apps will migrate without pain.

If I can't get a few apps to load on Vista, I'll just keep using them on my old XP laptop.

  • Can I upgrade to Windows Vista or Windows 7?

I have a HP Pavilion 523n 2002, which has an AMD Athlon 1.67 GHz microprocessor.   He has been up with 2 GB of memory, hard drives 150 MB and 320 MB, a Startech USB 2.0/IEEE1394 PCI card and a video card ATI all-in-Wonder 7500/64 MB DDR AGP.  It came with Windows XP Home Edition is installed.  Is it possible to upgrade my computer with Windows Vista or Windows 7?

    Hello:

I do not think because the video card is not windows Vista or 7 capable. There may be other hardware not able either.

The best thing to do is to download and run the Upgrade Advisor free windows 7, which will signal the backward compatibility of your PC with windows 7.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor

Plug in and turn on any peripheral equipment (printers, scanners, etc.), you, and she will report on their compatibility too.

  • Is it possible to upgrade Windows XP 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit?

    No. two points:

    1. you can't do an update from XP to 7. You must either make a
Clean first installation or an upgrade to double - Vista, then 7. I have
recommend to do a double upgrade, because it doubles
    the risk of problems.

    2. you can't do any kind of update that changes the number of 'bits' of
Windows from 32 bit to 64 bit or vice versa.
So for these two reasons, a new facility would be necessary.

However, even if a new facility is possible, I recommend
against it since your time material XP is almost certainly elsewhere
underpowered to run Windows 7 without problem. And the purchase and upgrading of all
the necessary equipment is likely to cost more than simply buy a new
a computer that comes with Windows 7.

And another point. Switching from XP to Windows 7 will three
old versions to an old version. In my opinion, it would be much better to
Go to Windows 8, the current version.

  • Pavilion DV6 - 1247CL upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 8. 1

I want to improve my Pavilion DV6 - 1247 CL Windows Vista at Windows 8. 1. I read on the site of Microsoft support that the only way to upgrade Vista to Windows 8.1 must do a clean install of DVD. Will I have problems with the HP drivers, etc... ? If so, what should I do to avoid these problems?

Yes there is no direct upgrade path from Vista to Windows 8. 1. I provide a counterpoint here. Your laptop is powerful enough to run Windows 8/8.1 and I bet all the drivers work just very rare possible exceptions that will be easy to fix. I would say what you can do to give up Vista is a good thing. You might want to consider Windows 7 as an alternative, but all that will take place in 7 runs generally 8/8.1.

You can upgrade from Vista Home Premium 32-bit to Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit or 64 bit to 64 bit; but not from 32 bit to 64 bit or 64 bit to 32 bit
