read on and see if fix your internet connection will help you.

Also, take a look in the Device Manager, the yellow exclamation points, showing a problem with your devices?

can you go to the Microsoft Download Center and download a file without losing internet:

http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=24

above is the xp service pack 3 download, which you should already have installed, just to see if it will then download when the dialog box appears, choose to save it to your desktop.

post back with results and also do this:

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

Msinfo32

Click OK, and when the system info summary appears, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here in your next reply.

You can change the personal information.

Download, install, update and scan with these full free malware detection programs:

Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

Remove all found, restart, and run again until analyses race clean, these can be removed later if you wish. Perform analyses to one at a time, please.

Let me know if the downloads above do good, so we can check if it is only the update site.

RAR files are not more likely to contain a virus or Malware any that any other file. (Assuming that you are not running a decent AV program).

  • With hybrid CMR, there is a way to disable the audio associated with participating black silhouette so it doesn't not voice-switch the video?

Other products do not turn on the video, when audio participants talk and I wonder if there is a way to disable this with hybrid CMR / WebEx.  If not, anyone know if it's on the roadmap of Cisco?

When you view the video within WebEx and telepresence to WebEx Connect, you will see the audio avatar, is how WebEx is designed to display audio participants, and there is no way to change this.  You might contact WebEx Support, but about the roadmap of Cisco, you will need to contact your account manager to Cisco for this information.

So rather than listing all of its flaws, I will summarize my goal is simply to disappear, or at least never darken the face of my monitor.  Unfortunately, the Photos is the friend of a friend who showed during your reception, remained long after everyone left him, and no matter how ostensibly you ask, not leave and let you go to the bed.

For awhile, I thought I had managed to block, at least in the basement, where it doesn't bother me, offering him a cask of amontillado, the following incantation by typing at the bash prompt. For the most part, the above seemed to work fairly well. I could insert the SD card from my camera, fire up a program that ***** marginally less, and process my photos without Photos.app, jumping up, putting both paws on my chest, slobbering all over my face, then trying to hump my leg.

Tonight, I tried to use tethering with my new camera. I fired up my image processing software, plugged in the cable, and managed to take a couple of  photos using the tethering plug in. But, as soon as I left the Space that had my image processing software, there was Photos.app, slobbering in my face and humping my leg again.

    Unfortunately, not even

    sudo rm -rf /Applications/Photos.app

will put this unruly pile of software dogbreath out of our misery.  How do I make it go away, and never, ever come back and bother me again?

This is intentional and one of the new security features of Capitan E - the protection of the integrity of the system.  You may not modify the software system, even as an administrator.

Photos is installed as an essential part of the system and not a separate application. To be able to uninstall it you have to disable the protection of the integrity of the system by booting into recovery. Not a good idea.

Try to ignore the pictures. You don't have to respond to the surprise guests.

You can assign Photos to a separate office you never look to make it out of the way.

Ideally you would state that in your first post, Geoff.

If the new facility has left you with WinXP gold (without Service Pack), no Service Packs have been installed and summer computer connected to the internet for a while since you've done the clean install last month...

The computer should MORE be connected (Internet or local networks; that is, other computers) in its current state.  All personal data (e.g., banking online & passwords credit card) must be considered at risk, if not already compromised.

You will need to do another clean installation - this time, follow the instructions in this post of mine in another forum (to the letter and in order! ) for your daughter's computer back to a safe & functional State: http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=44636

Note: All free-trial version that is preinstalled to buy will BE reinstalled when you reinstall Windows XP. You must (a) uninstall the free-trial version AND THEN (b) download/run the appropriate elimination of tool FRONT (c), you install updates Windows (including the Service Packs & IE8) AND BEFORE to install the new antivirus application (for example, Microsoft Security Essentials - free).

Tip: Avoid the freebies all provided by the ISP (e.g., Virgin Media security suite) as the plague!

  • Is there a safe way to change the admin password?

When I got my custom PC built and began working with her six years ago, I had no understanding of the importance of strong passwords. The password for the administrator account on my PC is very low. I said two completely different things on fixing this. 1. it is completely impossible and any attempt will be completely trash the account Admin 2 - it is possible if you use the correct procedure and follow the instructions carefully. Hi okieseeker,

It does not hurt to change the password on the computer, unless you change or forget the password.

  • Is there a way to disable the brightness on my keyboard keys?

It's really bad if I accidentally hit my keyboard brightness keys because my monitor must be calibrated very at all times since I was a photographer.  Someone knows how to turn off these keys I don't accidentally hit?

    Thank you!

There is a way to disable ALL the F1, F2, etc. keys, but I don't think there's a way to just disable these two keys.

 > System Preferences > keyboard > keyboard (tab) > check "use all F1, F2, keys as standard function keys etc.

Note that this will prevent all Mac controls, associated with the F1, F2, etc. keys. While this check box is selected, you can still use the features such as the brightness and spaces, but you need to hold the function (fn) key while pressing F1...

This will allow to use the Pause/Play, spaces, Launchpad and keys of brightness by pressing fn and then the F1, press F2 etc to the action you want.

    Hope this helps

  • safe way to transfer music to iMac hard drive on a separate drive?

Is there a safe way to move my music from hard drive of my iMac to a separate drive?

Drag the files normally. If you move your iTunes to work, when finished, start iTunes with down option, and then choose this library.

If you do this to free up space on the drive or to use music on multiple computers, keep a backup of it on a second disc.

  • Paste an image as new layer: no way to disable automatic resizing?

If I stick a picture on a smaller, CS5 will automatically resize itself it so that it fits in the frame. You can then manually turn in its original size, but this is awkward for what I do, so I was wondering if there was a way that disabled so that it keeps the original size (with parts of the layer being off screen). Even better would be if I could just paste without automatically enter free transform, as in earlier versions of Photoshop.

    Thanks in advance.
