• Acrobat DC: Action list opens all files

  Hi all,

  I installed Acrobat DC on Windows 8.1 and wonder about the behavior of the action lists.

  If I run a list (I have several lists, for example to put the metadata inside testicles), Acrobat opens each PDF, the list is running on. The last file remains open.

  Is this normal? Is there a way to change that. I think that all the open files is nit the best for performance. In Acrobat XI and earlier have only a progress bar.

  You're right, it's very bad for performance, but Adobe seem to prefer this way... It was the same in Acrobat XI, incidentally.

  The bug that the last file was not closed automatically was also present in XI'AN. It's sad to hear that it was not fixed, but not surprising.

• New options of parameters to pass in the use of action list

  In the Actions list, there is an option to select "new parameters to pass.  Can someone tell me how or what is used for?

  Action pass parameters generates an HTTP POST request containing the attribute values of selected parameters of PUBLICATION records.

  The destination URL would then be configured to perform an action based on these parameters.

  It is slightly different from a hyperlink action that navigates to a URL, which may include as parameters attribute values.

• Action = list CFDIRECTORY does not

  We use cfdirectory to extract a list of images from a specific directory. The directory to look in is determined by a variable passed in. We build the directory like this:

  And we use cfdirectory action = list like this:

  It works like a charm on our test server, but on the production server, it returns 0 results. If I manually type in the directory it works on the production server so I know the permissions is not a problem. I even did a cfdump of the variable "variables.imagedir" and copied/pasted in the repertoire of cfdirectory attribute and it worked.
  
  There seems to be a problem using a variable as the directory. Have you ever seen this happen? Any idease?
  
  Experimental and production are REHL4 with the standard CFMX7 and have permissions and structures of the same directories.

  Is it any whitesapce first or last character in the value of your variable? Any
  other weird characters who could not make on a browser, accordingly
  your test of cut-and - paste is invalidated?

• Remove an iSCSI Datastore VMFS

  We are currently migrating to NFS over iSCSI and while doing some tests, I deleted a vmfs ISCSI using the VIC data store. When I went to add to the data store to the esx server, he said the volume was empty. If you do this with NFS, you can mount the volume again as it does not destroy the volume.

  My question is what happens if you want to remove the data store because you no longer want on ESX01, but you always want on ESX02. The volume will be destroyed and therfore ESX02 will not see this volume?

  Yes, but réanalysant does that with iscsi HBAs (even here the deletion of the target may be necessary); with software disable it, kill, and activation of the initiator iscsi is required (commands on the console) - or you restart your Esx host.

• Cannot access the synology on nested host iscsi datastore

  I installed a Synology ds 414 version - 5-2-5592, with 2 volumes prescribed as 2 iscsi targets, I'm running 2 esxi 6 guests, a physical and a nested, phyiscal host I can access the target immediately without any problem, the host nested when I use the dynamic discovery, I can see the target via the static mapping but LUNS never appear and I can't add them as data stores.

  I put the target to allow multiple sessions on the synology, I can ping from the nested host synology vmk. I added the host nested as initiator allowed on the Synology, although I didn't need to do it on the first host as default value is set to read / write and there is no authentication set to synology.

• Cannot add iSCSI Datastore

  The problem:

  When you add a new data store, I am able to see all the LUNS that I am about to add. When I add the storage, I receive errors that the object reference is not valid, and the operation fails

  This iSCSI storage is off-production... I'm experimenting with VDR (really cool btw, I look forward future versions). As it's storage without importance, when I decided to make some radical changes to the storage, I have simply entered in the SAN and said that it is set at the factory. I made no changes to the vCenter or ESX storage configurations.

  Other information:

  -When you add the data store via the "Add Storage" of the vSphere Client Wizard, the first issue of logic unit in my new volume shows as having a label «VDR (head)» VMFS Yes, the old data store that I didn't not remove properly called VDR.

  -The LUNS in the SAN have been removed, and the new LUNS have been created.

  Anyone has any ideas on where to start? For me, the logical place to start looking is where defunct VDR data store data takes place, so that I can clean that information... I don't know where that would be.

  I have a 1 TB existing iSCSI volume that fills.  I entered the SAN configuration and add about 900 GB volume.  How can I get the ESX servers to recognize change?

  You can't develop an existing VMFS volume. You can create another 900 GB LUN and add it as a measure for the existing VMFS data store. Or better yet create a new freshly this VMFS in LUN data store.

  So a VMFS store be reintroduced to ESX or ESXi the VMFS volume must be readable and correspond to the EUI header / NAA set to paths of storage host created in the esx.conf file or the VC DB vml. If this information is not present while the volume will not be presented as a usable existing VMFS store. I have a blog with some examples to reinstate VMFS stores based on OpenSolaris and ZFS iSCSI volumes.

  You can examine the EUI or NAA on any VMFS work and ESX volume with the following command.

  Acrobat and PitStop are two distinct products, even if they work together.

  PitStop action lists only works in Enfocus products.

  Alert will be triggered separately for each row that is changed, so if your goal is to trigger the action of webservice as many times as the number of lines you have chosen in the action list, it serves very well your purpose. And you want to pass values from lines to alert, I suggest that make you all fields editable in list of actions (view open in edit mode and go to properties-> editable fields) and choose "Insert" action button action and put the lines in an another dataobject temp (and not your real dataobject that gets corrupted) set the alert on this temp dataobject and finally in your list of actions during execution, if you want to pass values from the list to the alert or change these values to pass new values, everything is possible and clicking "submit" should give you the expected results.
