  Hi all

  I intend to implement a storage shared in our vmware infrastructure. And we'll buy DELL or iSCSCI SAN NETAPP.

  Could someone pls review the design of SAN attached. Please note that we do not have a vCenter in the environment. And also we have not yet finalized on behalf of initiator SCSI, whether to use a software or iSCSI HBA for this purpose. Is it worth investing in the hardware initiator. Please suggest.

  To use several vmks iSCSI, you cannot assign two network adapters to the iSCSI vmks.

  You cannot have an active nic by vmk and the other the vSwitch network adapter must be moved down to "unused controller. Then you can bind to port in the software iSCSI hba adapter. It is the only way to achieve real multichannel, load balancing and failover for multiple iSCSI vmks.

• Reviews for iSCSI NFS e 3100 & Catalyst 2960-S vs?

  I'll put up my first SAN, a 3100 e with 2 NICs by MS.  We chose a pile of Cisco 2960-S for redundancy at the network level, and during the planning phase, I had chosen to use NFS.  E does not deduplication with iSCSI support (someone?), and the performance is roughly equal to this environment.  It is 3 guests with approximately 15 production MV; I expect a usage rate of 20% per host based on statistics collected from the current production environment.

  The glitch is 2960-S is limited to 6 ports-channels, even in a pile!  Initially, my plan was simple enough, and a commercial engineer.  Create channel-port on each host to storage traffic and traffic VM vMotion/HA.  Each of them would be 2 gigabit NIC in a VLAN dedicated.  But, now that I have that 6 Channel ports to work with, what is the best solution?  I would go with NFS, if possible, but I can't understand a good way to provide a high availability and balancing at the network level (yes I know that the effectiveness of IP hash is questionable in a port channel).

  In the past, I have Setup iSCSI multipathing in environments of test with good results, but it is a little more complex that I want to get for such a small environment, and we lose deduplication.

  Is back to the original question - possible to NFS, highly available, without aggregation of links?  I am referring to each element of the stack - host, network and SAN.  Is there another method would you recommend, and if so, why?

  A few thoughts I had:

  Wouldn't be better to put the vMotion/HA NIC on access ports with 1 NIC in standby mode and use the port for NFS instead channels?  Once the environment is fully migrated, I expect vMotion will be made during failures and maintenance periods.

  If I assigns an IP address to a store NFS SP A and it fails, MS B will remain passive until a failure and then take control of this IP/action?  Or the store NFS appears twice in my list of data stores?

  MGMT use vmnic1 as a primary vmnic5, as a backup. It is the VLAN 125

  vMOTION uses vmnic5 as a primary vmnic1, as a backup. It is 126 VLAN.

  vmnic1 and vmnic5 are shared resources at the level of the physical switch to allow the 125 & 126 VLAN.

  

• Reviews for iSCSI NETWORK card

  Hello, this is my first post so please excuse me if I violate no forum label.

  I would like some advice on the EP 12 G rack range NIC.

  There someone of any quad 1 GB port card a TOE NETWORK interface? It seems that the standard 5720/5719 Broadcome that comes with tell the R420 - r.620 has only TSO and no TOE. And none of the cards 1 GB iSCSI unloading.

  However Cisco servers have a NIC called Broadcom 5709 1G and TOE.

  Only 10 GB NIC/NAC has full TOE/iSCSI unloading.

  Please advice :)

  unloading iSCSI is probably relatively expensive for a 1 Gbit NIC, which is a reason why Dell does not offer this (more (I remember older Dell Broadcom NIC offering him)).

  Add $50 to $ 100 NIC solution (1 GB dual port) is a fairly significant increase, but adding $50 to $500 (dual port 10 GB) card NETWORK solution is a lot less impacting. Reference Dell seems often to look at it this way.

  Also; unloading iSCSI doesn't seem to be useful in some situations; boot-from-SAN and if you want to put a file on a volume of SAN. These two have some major drawbacks when there is (much more difficult to solve) SAN connectivity problems.

  Add iSCSI unloading to record the power CPU, in my opinion, is worth it because the use of the CPU by the Broadcom or Intel NIC driver is very low on the modern servers than the total processing power of the server.

  If you really want the iSCSI unloading, I would suggest that you consider a Qlogic solution, or go with a solution of 10 GB.

• Simulating multiple monitors reviews

  I don't know if this is possible, but I would really like to be able to do. I'm under Fusion 5 on a MacBook Pro. I'm running a Windows 7 guest.

  I would like to be able to give the guest WHAT VM 2 monitors even if the host has only one. I would then use OS X Spaces to switch between the two virtual monitors.

  If this cannot be done in Fusion 5, 6 do?

  No, but the ability to have multiple monitors comments than the host monitors is on our list of things to study.

• difference of simulation between multisim 10.1 and 14.0

  I've been using Multisim 10.1 for check and create examples for students and want to spend 14 Multisim. Simulating a small ac-circuit I got different using multisim 10.1 and 14 results.

  

  The result of multisim 10.1 is identical with the manual solution.

  Hi Blanne:

  The default setting of simulation in Multisim is letting his engine to automatically determine the TMAX, the maximum allowed timestep. In version 13, we have modified this code in such a way that it will leave the slower to simulate faster real-time frequency circuits, we did this in order to accelerate simulations as requested by users. Most of the time, this change has worked as expected, but your circuit is a clear example of a negative effect of this change. Its accuracy is affected by larger time.

  In your evaluation of Multisim 14, you can quickly change that. Click on the Interactive analysis button in the toolbar to open the properties of the analysis and in the analysis of Simulation Interactive > look tab crawl settings for the checkbox control labeled step of maximum (TMAX), place a check and let it set to 1e-005. Make your simulation again and you will now see the 1.155 a result in the multimeter.

  (Version 14 has been automatically calculate the TMAX as 1.25e - 003)

  I'll file a defect report so we review how automatically determine us TMAX so he will not state as in this example. I hope my explanation helps you advance your evaluation of the software.

• only parts simulation

  I have a pretty complex circuit that contains a number of pieces that are there to allow the appropriate simulation (they create "external stimuli").

  How to mark all of these pieces so that they will NEVER be exported in the NetList.   I really don't want to remove them manually before going to the configuration of PCB, as if I should never need to review the design, I would need to remember what they were and re-add-the.

  This seems obvious, but I can't find it easily.

  In the CLI, you can run GrpName > show recentevents

  If you haven't already done so, install SANHQ, which is available on the site Web of EQL.

  The table will periodically balance connections on the ports available in the group in order to balance the IO.  These disconnections / connections are quite normal.

  Usually connection drops are caused by network problems.

  Can you give us some examples of the error or informational messages?

  You can open a folder from supported so they can review the logs and configuration of your switch.

  I just tried to use the Sony RX100 MKii in the studio and found a problem.

  Simulation of exposure in Manual Mode. He needs a toggle so it can be turned off to be able to use the manual focus and see what focus you on.

  Thank you for sharing your comments about the application of live view camera DSC-RX100M2. We are more than happy to pass this information on the Department for review. We place a very high value on feedback from our customers because it allows us to understand how we can improve our products.

  To work around the problem, you could temporarily move to P, A or S modes of shooting for the purpose of framing and setting for the point. Once done, you might return to M mode so that you can take a picture using the appropriate settings.

• Can I allow each users to test my app on their Simulator on PC?

  My application was approved to BB AppWorld. Can I allow ABC to users to test my application on the Simulator on their PC? Is it safe to let it download my file to my website app bar user? It is forbidden?

  If you need another user review/test your application and you have not used any specific Playbook API, you can download the SWF and files required to Web space and send the link. Even if you have used specific Playbook APIs, you can always add a 'webCompile' flag and set it to true when you compile for the web, then avoid using these APIs under certain conditions.

  For example, the 'stage.nativeWindow.visible = true' parameter is not valid when you run the SWF file in a browser, so I added a condition to make "if (webCompile == false) stage.nativeWindow.visible = true '. So, I can easily build a Playbook and a version of my app's built-in web.

  In my opinion, these measures were ok, I got the following output to the debugging token for example:

  I have no idea why this happened. I read once that he shouldn't no matter what token of debugging on the Simulator, but I couldn't find the command to uninstall mine.

  the problem is the file bar. I don't know why some people talking about the to do all the bar signature of process, etc. for the Simulator. Only 2 commands are quantity.

• JDE and code signing of device vs. Simulator...

  I have a test application which is just a very simple application which is a screen with a button above. I click the button and change the background color of the screen. This works very well in the Simulator. Now, I have 2 versions of this code. A version that is running on the real device and another version does not work on the physical device (although on the Simulator).

  The only difference between the applications is as follows. On the dysfunctional version, I used involved objects code signing, but then later removed this code by commenting out. After that, the app seems does not not in the unit. I did a full clean and rebuild of all, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. It's almost like the links in the application of something because of the requirement that is not removed after signing of code condition code is removed... and this is the stop of modified versions of this code to run on the device until I have reset something in the JDE code signing.

  Ideas for what something might be?

  I SOLVED IT!

  When I removed some resource files I had used when test resources (but used is no longer), the problem disappeared. I'm in a com/rim/samples directory structure... I guess the resources was my problem and nothing to do with the directory.

  On further review, resource files use a package command, so everyone the reading of this... Don't forget NOT TO CHANGE THE order of the package in your resource files too.

• SRM 5.8 using NetApp ONTAP Simulator 8.2 permissions problem

  Hi guys,.

  I have Setup mirroring wink and I added the correct AER and is showing as reproducing... BUT when I try to move a virtual machine to the store of data replication... or even to create a file on the issue on the source site. It fails with the call 'FileManager.MakeDirectory' of object 'FileManager' on vCenter Server 'vCenter2008.gotham.com' failed.

  This screams to me a matter of rights. I have configured the rights using the web client (OnCommand System Manager), if I give the hosts Root access to NFS, and SRM/CRT export doesn't see the NFS data store and use it for replication of table, its in a few articles. Guests must read/write access only to make it work.

  But even with the hosts having read/write, I can't create something on this NFS datastore on my source site.

  The NFS datastore on the Test/DR site is mounted read-only on the recommended such hosts in other posts and restricted on the NetApp side

  In its current form... it seems ABR works (according to the webclient service, it is show the outbound replication of table), but it is not really taking anything but empty?

  First of all, I want to make sure that you are talking about an export NFS used as a data store and not a logic unit number used as a data store. You mention both, but your configuration, it seems that you use NFS, not a protocol of SAN (iSCSI, Fibre Channel).

  If you use NFS, then you need root permissions rw and on export. Check out the KB below the link for more details. Looks like your Simulator is 7-mode of operation, please consult this section and not the "cluster Data ONTAP: section.»

• VMware 5.5 u1 - iScsi adapter hangs the system

  Hi all

  Last week I was not successful in improving the environment VMware 5.5 to 5.5U1. First installation well happened, set up the first ESXi host and created a profile of the host. So far so good, no major issues. Where to install the rest of the other 5 blade servers and applying the host profile all seem to work well while things went sideways when the environment has been stopped and restarted.

  Te of installation as follows:

  Servers Dell 1955 blades Center (x 6)

  Switches Cisco 3030 connected to the blades of the

  vCenter server as a virtual machine on the ESXi cluster

  Manager upgrade from vCenter as a virtual machine

  Distributed Virtual Switch configured

  During the shutdown procedure I move all components of vCenter to a single host before feeding the server vCenter (Windows 2008). Then I stop the ESXi host using the management client as vCenter is no longer available.

  Turn on the cycle must start this first ESXi host, connect to it and then powering the vCenter components. Once that of all DRS and power management is set to automatic, then the virtual machine simulation is started.

  With 5.5 all worked well and no problems at all. When I installed 5.5 U1 I could no longer connect to the ESXi server and it gave a 503 error when it connects to it. Through the journal showed that the components on the file system was not found after what I decided to do a cleaning of the files install.

  After the reinstallation of the entire batch, I connected to an ESXi host and helped the network and added the iScsi card. At this point, the system stops responding and the session between the client and the ESXi host is disconnected.

  Running several tests, I have concluded that something must be wrong with the components of virtual disk system, iScsi or vSan. 5 of 6 guests will be deployed to vmware 5.5 as vmware 5.5U1 is not stable...

  Can use some to help solve this problem I will leave 1 server in the current state, is to identify the root cause because I'm stuck at the moment. Later, I'll post a few newspapers of sections of the file with the errors that I have identified. (Pass it restart does not solve the problem)
