Issue of non-secure/SSL in 14.0.1

Looks like there may be a problem with FF 14.0.1 caching. If you visit any site safely... we will say "https://support.mozilla.org" and you close your browser and reopen and type 'http://support.mozilla.org' or 'support.mozilla.org', you get automatically meant the secure version of the site. This isn't a redirect on the side server, it seems that the browser is cached you once accessed the area firmly and now every time you visit what you want to do. No other browser I've tried behaves like that for all the Web sites that we operate. This creates problems in several areas of our sites because some areas were supposed to be consulted not securely. I understand that a well-designed site would be capable of supporting access via a protocol throughout each part of a Web site. However, we have many sites and many were scheduled long ago and just updated across all revisions, update each of them would be so much of your time.

So my question is... are others perceiving this caching behavior? Is it planned? Is this a bug?

Hi barth.shawn, you could use the redirection server displayed in the first link above, as appropriate.

  • Non-secure Jabber login?

    Greetings!

I had a devil of a time using my iChat since the last update.

I get the prompt on a non secure Jabber connection. Then he said: my password is not valid.

    Help!

I tried to reset passwords, signature/signature outside. I tried to remove some Keychain passwords.

Nothing seems to work, and I miss my cat.

    Hello

It would help if we knew which Jabber server you are trying to connect to.

I find that a Google Talk ID, I used since iChat 3 sign is no longer using the SSL protocol and will always yield a nonsecure connection.

This is despite me setting the element 'insecure Apps' at Google and by changing the name of the server and setting the Ports and SSL on my Mac.

Something always seems to substitute for settings for the Autodiscover Port and the server that takes the parameter disable SSL.

IT seems that the name of the server is therefore more talk.google.com either.

Technical issues do not belong in the forum Feedback response so I moved your post to the WIndows XP "Netwoking and online" Outlook Express forum where questions are handled.

Outlook and Outlook Express are completely different products and are not related except for the names.

The problem you describe product generally when you have not defined thte option to authenticate your outgoing SMTP server.  If you click on tools > accounts, select your account, then click Properties, you should see a Servers tab.  This tab is a check box labeled "my server requires authentication".  Check it out.  Then check the settings button to the right.  You'll see two radio buttons.  From the top, labeled 'Use same settings as my mail server outgoing' is generally the right to choose.

  • Firefox blocks some ads (non-secure content)

I noticed since the update 41 Firefox crashes some adsense ads from time to time, but not always.
When this happens Firefox displays an icon on the PlayBar to address
"Firefox blocks the content of this page.
    and
    "Unsafe content.

If I run Firefox in safe mode, I still get the same problem. The pages are served over http, not https if it matters. I can't disable protection manually and it works, but I wonder if this is a problem with some insecurities ads by Google, or Firefox incorrectly reports certain advertisements as non-secure.

OK - http://www.gstatic.com - is a non-secure server and Firefox do not have mixed content like this on a page secure otherwise.

  • whenever I open a page, a security box appears telling me the page contains elements safe and secure, that I want to display the non secure items?

original title: problem pop up safety box

A couple of months, my daughter opened a video on utube.  The screen on my laptop turned blue with white writing and the volume went crazy.  Had to hold the close button.  Since then, whenever I open a page, a security box appears telling me the page contains elements safe and secure, that I want to display the non secure items?  I used for the display of this box on occasion, now it is on each page.  I ran windows security and norton scans and both find nothing.  Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem, because it drives me crazy.  Thanks in advance

    Hello Michelle,.

You have a virus, here's what you need to do. Download and install malwarebytes of: http://malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free, be sure to update before running a full scan. If you cannot run the program at all, you will need to download a few programs of this site: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix it, you should get back on track.

Also, you may have a browser redirection problem. Go to your IE tools--> internet options--> Connections tab, then click lan setting and make sure that the only box to checked in it is automatically detect settings.

Let me know if it works,

Windows mail send any ip ok no error. Ox 800ccc79 cylindrical invalid not port 25 secure SSL error 550 Server

You try to send a file larger than 20 MB.  Try to reduce the size of the attachment of zipping it or go to tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced and select the option to break messages apart large.  However, many recipients servers will not accept messages exceeds 10 megabytes, then you could try to send via another method.  BTW, if you attach a file, it must be encoded to be sent by e-mail, and this coding adds about 30-50% the size.

  • Problem___ Server I get this message if I'm in Windows is trying to send an email. Account: 'windows mail', server: 'pop3', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, Socket error: 11001, error number: 0x800CCC0D

I get this message if I'm in Windows is trying to send an email:

Account: 'windows mail', server: 'pop3', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, Socket error: 11001, error number: 0x800CCC0D

Where should I go on my PC to fix this?

In this case, use the settings given here:

Use port 587 instead of port 25 of the SMTP server.

To give you a little history, Windows Mail does not support the HTTP messaging, which for a long time was the only authorized method of access for free Hotmail/MSN accounts. In addition, given that the development of Windows Mail was frozen in July 2006, there no knowledge that Microsoft has enabled POP access for free Hotmail/Live/MSN accounts in February 2009. Therefore, the Windows Mail Account Setup Wizard is hardcoded to reject the Hotmail and MSN addresses. To work around this limitation, when you enter your Hotmail/MSN email address, initially, use a fake domain, such as * address email is removed from the privacy *. After the account setup is complete, you can go back into the settings and correct your email address.

  • Win Live: I can receive, but not send email on comcast. I can do both with Gmail & Hotmail. 0x800CCCOE error, Socket error: 10013, secure (SSL): No.

This has happened for weeks? month? Until now I just go into "Outgoing mail" and change to Comcast to Gmail or Hotmail and it turned off.

Message: Windows Live Mail, some errors occurred while processing the requested task, the connection to the server has failed., Server: SMTP.comcast.net, Windows Live mail error) x800CCCOE, Protocol SMTP, Port 25, Socket error: 10013, secure (SSL): No.

I'll try any suggestion that I understand what to do.

I can go directly to Comcast (not through Windows live) and send and receive.

Glad you solved it. Looks like you have added an account rather than re-comfiguring of your current account.
