I have a weird problem with my new Blackberry.

When I answer an incoming call, it is put on the speaker for a time very short (few seconds) and then return to normal.  Very annoying...

Thanks in advance for you help.

    Hello philipadam,

Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums.

In this case, I would recommend wiping the BlackBerry smartphone. To do this, we would need to back up the BlackBerry smartphone. Please open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and connect your BlackBerry smartphone. Click the backup and restore button, and select Save. Note the location where the backup is saved will allow us to access later to restore the BlackBerry smart phone.

Once saved, please follow the link below to do a wipe of your BlackBerry smartphone security.

    Link: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB14058

Test the BlackBerry smart phone and do a selective restore as described below.

Please help I need my bbm back

    Hello presh007

Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support

If you already verified and that you are unable to locate your BBM icon, then you should try reinstalling the BlackBerry Messenger application, it may be useful.

To do it from your home screen to go to Options > device > Application Management > locate and delete BlackBerry Messenger from this list.

KB10040 : How to view or delete the application installed on a blackberry smartphone

Deleted once perform a battery pull reboot by removing the battery while your device is turned on, wait a min. and then reinsert this return.

Finally, after the reboot, use your BlackBerry browser and go to www.blackberry.com/bbmdownload and download the most recent version available. After installation, restart your device once more, connecting with your BlackBerry ID and check if you are able to send BBM to one of these devices.

Please try it and let us know of your progress.

  • How to make speaker blackBerry smartphones

I know it's a basic, but I can't work on how to spend the Blaxkberry Pearl 9105 to the speaker.  Any help please.  Bob

During a phone call, if you press the BlackBerry menu button, you can see the choice of speaker.

  • Speaker blackBerry Smartphones starts automatically on certain calls

For the reasons that I can't explain, the speaker turns on automatically when my wife calls for about 5 seconds and then returns to the normal mode.  I have absolutely no idea how this 'feature' has been enabled.

I can't find this option in the profiles/edit function.  I have an exception for my wife - and I am sure that the speaker phone option must be associated with this exception... but I know not where/how to turn off.

My phone is running V4.6.1.83, the Platform 3.0.0.41, Curve 8350i

    Thank you

    Welcome to the kjbrand forums

I don't know if you tried, but when your phone starts to 'Act' always try a battery pull first:
    1. remove the battery while the phone is turned on
    2. wait a few seconds before inserting it again
    3. wait for the long end of the boot process (takes a few minutes usually)

This clears most of the software problems that occur on the BlackBerry from time to time. You can also use Quickpull, a free application that simulates a battery pull without removing the battery: http://software.crackberry.com/product.asp?id=27660
A battery pull gets lost when using the applications memory and clears minor software errors that creep over time. The blackberry is running an operating system just like your PC is running windows and battery pull is the equivalent of a reboot / restart your computer.

There should be no reason why the phone should go to the speaker on its own, and it sounds like a software problem. I hope that suits him!

  • Issues with BBM blackBerry Smartphones 2

Hi, first I have a Bold 9700 and my contract covers everything (internet/email/bbm, etc.). (Edit: and I am on Orange, to the United Kingdom, if it makes a difference.)

But whenever I've been on BBM it has not looked like all the manuals of the user here say it should - I don't see the display picture of anyone, and I can't add my own. When I looked at the online books and tried to follow the instructions, the layout / interface was different textbooks suggest it should - and I tried a number of different versions of more textbooks, is not that I am looking at the wrong version.

However, I did check and noticed that I was on a version 4 something BBM. I had the link to update sent to my phone and updated. However, now the BBM icon has disappeared from my home page and I can't find anywhere to get back. I had been able to always get him well "switch application", but I restarted my phone and now I can not even find BBM through the application of switch option either.

I noticed something here on the RIM, I guess that's the issue, but I don't know why it would be. I did not add anything like that to my phone, but as I say, the complete package of my service provider, so I could not see any reason why I wouldn't be able to upgrade my BBM on my device.

Any help to recover the icon would be massively appreciated (while I want the display pic problem to work, I'm more interested in being able to get on BBM himself first!)

Thanks in advance for any help, greatly appreciated!

I would say this: use your BlackBerry Messenger feature to back up your contacts, you have now, and also, do a full backup using the Desktop Manager.

Then go into Options > Advanced > Applications and scroll the Messenger app and do not click it, just highlight it. Click Menu > delete and remove the application.

Now, do a restart: with the BlackBerry device powered on, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.

Finally, use your BlackBerry browser to go to http://blackberry.com/blackberrymessenger and download/install again the Messenger application.

After installation and reboot if necessary, check your instant messaging, or downloads of the application folder.

You can restore your contacts from the application of v.5 BBM or from Office Manager > Backup/Restore > advanced.

  • Encrypted security issue Micro SD blackBerry Smartphones

    Good day everyone!

My beloved BB slashed recently. Most of the files on the SD card is encrypted.

I understand / guess encryption will prevent them to access files when the Board is mounted on a desktop computer or laptop. BUT what happens if they removed the SD card first and then wiped the BB?

Should'nt they re - insert the SD card, which will allow them to view the content since it is the same phone? And the phone is like locked (wipe after)?

    Thank you!

  • Issue with BBM blackBerry Smartphones to add a new contact

    I just bought a BlackBerry for a parent especially to be able to use BBM with him, knowing that he will soon be abroad;

The problem is that I can not add him to my contacts: scanning the bar code don't work, for what is to type the PIN code or text. I even tried to send him an email. There, for example, can add me, and none of the latter work neither.

I downloaded the latest updates and tried to charge our devices several times, but it was useless...

Any idea what could be the problem?

    Thank you in advance!

    Laura, of course try it.

Rakboyz, please read this thread and follow the suggestions.

  • Speaker blackBerry Smartphones

I have three questions. First of all, there is an icon that looks like a speaker in the upper left corner of the phone. What it means?

Secondly, I can't find where you place the speaker on and outside. Y at - it spikes a site where I can download the full manual and booklet of tips is quite lacking for info.

    Paul

It's probably one of the best sites that you will find info on your BB Storm.

The icon in the top left on your phone is your lock button.

If this info helped, please click my congratulations.  Thank you.

  • Issue of profiles blackBerry Smartphones

In the Profiles section, when I edit any particular profile, I have a section to options like this:

    Level 1

    Messages [1 addy email]

    Messages [email addy 2]

    Messages [office]

    MMS

    etc.

In my particular case, I only have the [office] and the installer [2 email addy] on this unit and I want to remove the option that says "Messages [email addy 1]."  Anyone know how I can do this?

    Thank you!

Too bad... I thought about it.  I readded just email addy that I didn't go through the website of the Blackberry E-mail service, and then deleted again and it deleted the extra entry.

    Thank you!

  • Issue of updates blackBerry Smartphones

I guess update of this device is more complicated, so I was told. The support REP store Tech Verizon said everything I have to do is dial * 228 on my phone and press option 1 approximately every 30 days. But now I see after surfing this site it's updates online here and at home on a PC and telephone service provider.  So, what is the best way to keep updated device software?

    RKL

    Hello!

The * 228 update (option to use 2 times a month) will update your roaming profile - like VZW deployed more laps, your BB must be able to find and update the roaming profile accomplishes that.

The BB itself also works a BONE - and, like all operating systems, it is updated at any time. Your operator controls which version of the operating system that they certify, so you will find their updates here:

    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

You can also perform updates here:

    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/devices/

As well as install the desktop software provided with your BB - this will make it check for updates and do things according to the needs.

Which of these three is 'better' is an appeal from the judgment - that only you can make.

    Good luck!

  • Issue of browser blackBerry Smartphones

Forgive me this is my first blackberry... I turn... all of a sudden, a Slacker Radio icon appeared on my main screen... I tried to not knowiing where it comes, but I can not remove it... How to remove this program or anything like that... It doesn't appear under the application menu when I click on the icon, it opens the browser and wants that I agree to the terms of this...

    Thanks for your help!

    Robert

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Verizon pushed Slacker down to the phone, so when you hear a song on lazy you can buy it from Verizon.

I create a folder for all the icons 'junk', that I do not use and skin then the icons, and then hide the folder.

In this way, you have a blank desktop, and you do not inadvertently start a service. This Slacker icon will be

back when you get the service books sent, so you cannot permanently delete it.

    Thank you

  • Issue with BBM blackBerry Smartphones

    Hi all.

    BlackBerry 9800

    Platform V6.0.0.448 6.4.0.210

    Carrier: Rogers

Question: The BBM Messages are not in delivery or receipt.

I can type out messages and send them, but they are not being delivered and I don't get the bbm messages. I can send the same message from 10-15 times and it can be delivered.

Text messages work, and my browser works, both on data and wireless. Was working fine last night, the problem started today. Made of soft and hard reboots no change.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you

    Yes, I have some thoughts.

First of all, to register again your phone on the network

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/KB00510

    Then, return your service books

  • Internal speaker (speaker of the ear, no speaker) blackBerry Smartphones has randomly stopped working.

First, I'll tell you that there is no water or elimination of damage to this phone, its been pampered. The WDI decals prove the absence of water damage. I used the phone 3 times during the morning and midday, received a call last night call and nothing... I called my other phone and still nothing. I started the mp3 player and activated the headset speaker, nothing. I did a battery pull... nothing... I even went as far as wiping the phone... NOTHING. Have never heard of guys this type of malfunction just? I did some research, and what I get to replace the intermediate plate... However, this seems to be a difficult task. Advice or suggestions?

Well, it is the intermediate plate... installed today. everyone rants and raves about how much it is difficult to replace the intermediate plate must have problems with screws... literally, it took 5 minutes to unscrew a few screws, remove the intermediate plate, install a new one and reinstall the outer shell. It was simple, im pretty sure that my child 5 years could do... However, it has fixed this problem.

  • Issue of prostheses blackBerry Smartphones VM-605

I have paired/connected with my 9630 Tour, but there is a boring thing happening.  When I make a call, voice or composition, I first get a message that says: "Call ended" and then, it dials the number.  Of course, I started just to compose, there was nothing at the end.  When I hang up, I get no message.  It's as if there is a period of time with the software.  Any ideas?
