  Hello

  I would use an SSD instead of the conventional HARD disk, but SSDS are very expensive and that is why I would like to replace the optical drive with my conventional HARD drive. The optical drive is not often used and so I'm looking for a Bay optical caddy who easily replaced the DVD drive. I know that old Tecra Systems (e.g. 8100), that such a Bay was available.

  I don't want to use an external drive, because I do not carry many devices with me. Please can someone help me?

  I know that there are these optics by caddy for some Toshiba laptops but I don t know if they are available for Tecra S10 and if it of possible.

  You should ask a service provider authorized in your country. If this an optical bay caddy is available, you order if by technicians and they can give you a detailed response. :)

  For models Toshiba laptops will offer all the drivers, tools and utilities for Win7. So you will not have problems to run all the things you asked for.

  You can not switch to the 64-bit version.
  You have to make the clean operating system installation.

  You can just upgrade home premium to ultimate (32- or 64-bit) version.

  I need to get some memory for my M3. Are there differences between the following Toshiba references:

  PA3412U - 1 M 51
  PA3412U - 2M 51
  PA3412S - 2M 51

  Insofar as I know, they are all the same spec and should all be OK, but I'm curious why the same thing has three different numbers. I think the first two are just older versions, and I can get them on the second-hand market.

  Seems that all of these modules are the same.
  In my opinion, these modules has different parts because of the new version of the module or the production.

  I found these compatible modules:
  DDR2 400/533 256 MB (PA3389U - 1 M 25)
  512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51)
  1 GB OF DDR2 400/533 (PA3411U-1M1G)

  If your device works properly and there is no problem, in my opinion, the update of the BIOS is not necessary to do so.

  I use the P20 Satellite about two years and I n t do BIOS update so far. I agree with you that without any concrete description, it is not easy to decide BIOS update.

  In my opinion, you should contact the Service partner and ask them what a memory module is compatible with your laptop. I found that PC100 128 MB (PA3005U) is certainly usable for Tecra 8000.

  Please be careful because all modules may not be recognized by BIOS correctly.

  It is possible that 256 MB RAM PA3069U - 1 M 25 is compatible but I'm not sure about this. Pick up information by the Service partner before buy you one.

  I noticed that support Toshiba updates drivers for Tecra A9 very slowly even if they introduce important features.   Having the latest drivers would be nice, but its different for laptops. Motorists need to be customized for the features of the laptop, and they probably need to go through quality control, testing too although I guess.

  However there may be a solution, you can try to install the drivers later on newer models such as the Tecra A10 and M10 :)

  I'm trying to update the BIOS on a Tecra A2 and I need help. I downloaded the current version (1.40 - WIN) and then extracting the zip file to copy on a diskette as instructed, the package extracts from 1.84 MB! Obviously this will not keep on a floppy disk, so how can I perform the update?

  According to the installation instructions this model no is not upgraded to Windows - if the version name contains WIN (?)

  Any help would be appreciated.

  I'm agree with sascha BIOS update published on the Toshiba page focuses on the victory of BIOS and this can ONLY be changed during the execution of a Windows operating system.

  So download the BIOS, unzip and then run it the exe file

  In my opinion this issue is not for forum users. What you need is a professional help and response by Toshiba. I recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask questions about all the upgrades of warranty available.

  If the upgrade process sticks or does not respond to 99%, it is better to wait and do nothing for 5 to 6 hours. If there is still no progress to close the Wizard Windows 10 upgrade, restart the computer and try to upgrade following the tips detailed below.
