It cannot burn DVD from ISO file.

I can't burn an ISO file that Proshow Gold (PSG) made to burn a DVD on my DVD.  PSG made the file ok and it seems complete with what files I expect on a DVD, but if I right click on the file... Win 7 does not have the option "BURN to DVD".   If I try to burn the file manually... I get an error that says: "not a supported file Type.

I played with it for 2 hours... What am I doing wrong?  (Note: I burned the DVD before, but never with an ISO file.)

    Hello

Have you tried to delete upper and lower filters in the registry of the Windows operating system?
    Isn't it? Try this:
Completely remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Also I would not recommend trying the other and different discs (CD and DVD) from different manufacturers.
But of course it could also be a hardware problem. I mean the discs of the laser lens has stopped working properly due to mechanical stress.

I had a similar problem of combustion and the end of the story, I replaced the drive ;(
However, try to remove the drive from Device Manager, and then again to restart the operating system should recognize the device again.
Then you could check if it able to burn the DVD s s.
I think you should also try burning different DVD media.

I have visited many work sites and the reader, and especially the calibration lens malfunction could be responsible for burning problems.
This could be a worst case and in this case, the replacement is necessary.

  • Satellite M40: Power calibration error - drive cannot burn DVD - RW more

My drive is a carpet * an oem UJ - 831S. After a screw-up partitioning job, I had to format my HD and reinstall Windows XP... and then I can not burn DVD - RW more.

Tried many programs such as Nero and a fireman, gives an error of calibration of power from the beginning.
Burning CD - r and CD - RW no problem however, and I can read CDs and DVDs of movies very well.

Google and searched for a month without success, tried to blow the laser lens, but there is no dust, I tried different media, etc. I know the best answer is that the drive is done, BUT I refuse to acknowledge it because it is too big of a coincedence to stop working right after that I reinstalled XP.

An interesting note however, my laptop has not been provided with a CD of Toshiba, so I had to reinstall manually more drivers by downloading the Toshiba site, so I have a funny feeling, this could be a thing of the software/firmware, or even a framework.

I installed the new firmware 1.02 for the reader as well. I don't remember what the firmware was before resettlement, IE the laptop computer settings to factory default, I'd like to downgrade to 1.00 if possible.

Experts have ideas? And is there a way I can reset the firmware?

Maybe I could remove the drive from the system-> devices and let XP Reinstall for me?

    Hello

    > I don't know the best answer is that the drive is done, BUT I refuse to acknowledge it because it is too big of a coincidence to stop working right after that I reinstalled XP.

Of course, it s simply to say the drive is dead because everything looks like a hardware malfunction. Most often the power calibration error appears because of the drive lens can't calibrate in the right position and thus cannot read some CD or DVD s s or it of not possible to write about them.

But maybe you are a lucky man and might try this procedure:
-Try to remove the drive physically from the Bay for laptop
-Restart the unit without the drive
-In this case the operating system should start from the HARD drive
-Close the notebook then reinsert the drive unit in the Bay of s for laptop
During initialization, the laptop should recognize the drive and must pick up the firmware

Then you can check if you can burn the DVD again, otherwise you will need a new drive

  • iDrac6 - cannot start the virtual iso file:

I just bought 12 x T610 I put in all the country. I know I could call the support for this, but I tried and there is no knowledge on this subject was available when I called the support:

The problem: I'm unable to boot from the virtual media (iso file)

I don't know how to do this, but I understand that I need to start the remote console and select virtual media > launch virtual media.

Next, I add the iso file I want to boot from.

I tried to start it, but it does not work.

When I try to map the drive (still in the launch of virtual media), I get the error:
    Disk error
Or other virtual media is detached or
Redirection of virtual media for the selected virtual disk drive is already in use.

I tried this from dozens of different computers and it is not going.

As first boot device, I tried Virtual CD/DVD/ISO, but it didn't go.

So. How do I file to mount the ISO and boot on them? IDRAC is loaded from another server using IE8 on the same subnet as the server that I am trying to start (gigabit). The iso file boots very well when mounted using vmware etc. (190 MB)

I found the solution from dell support:

I had to open idrac. go to system > console/media, and then click configuration and activate the virtual support.

I thought that I had already checked this, and the cause is iDRAC has a blue for the active tab text, and black for the tab you are NOT in.

    Example:

Redirection of the console and Virtual Media Configuration

While Configuration is NOT active! You must click on Configuration, even if it is not marked as a link. Blade programmers :)

  • Cannot burn DVD in Windows DVD Maker

    Hello

I'm burning a couple of files wmv to a DVD. The two files together last about 5 minutes on a 120 minute DVD - RW. When I open Windows DVD Maker and import the two files, DVD Maker goes through the burning process, but towards the end DVD Maker informs me that he cannot finish burning "an error has occurred." It does not say what error or what caused it. DVD Maker itself I unchecked the filters in 'compatibility '; in the Windows Event Viewer, I can see the following:

DVD Maker returned an error code (0xC00D002F) when burning the disc.

Dvd creation engine returned an error (-1072889809) code when burning the disc.

When I check the events and the center of Microsoft's messages for the two error messages, I 'been found no results for your query.

How could I solve this problem please?

    Thank you.

    Blue

    Hello I volunteer

Thanks a lot for your answer and the link of the encoder.

I got the encoder to work and 15 tracks (wmv) audio/video tracks I wanted to burn it to a DVD using DVD Maker, some 12 are corrupt. I don't know how they have corrupted or why, but there you are.

The strange thing is that if I use another burning program, I can play tracks perfectly - a drawback is that with other software, you can not burn the tracks in the order you want (they appear on the final DVD burned by alphabetical order), whereas the DVD Maker, you can organize tracks by using the Up/arrow keys.

I have not tried to burn on a DVD so I'll post back.

    Thanks again.

    Blue

  • Impossible to boot from iso file on DL385G5p

New VMware customer.  We have 2 new servers DL385 G5p.  There was a bug where the optical drive is not supported in the 123629and build would prevent the ESXi installation.  We got beyond that point through workaround optical drive disconnect and then the most recent installation ESXi patch 143129.  Reconnect the optical drive, but it is not yet usable (SCSI)?.  But at least we can start ESXi.  Good.

The current problem is that I can create a virtual machine, but it will not start with an iso file.  The iso file was transferred to the store of data residing on disks SAS DL385 (same location as the ESXi installation).  I tried an iso file of Windows Server 2003 and also the same iso file ESXi I installed (just to try a well known iso file).

When I start the virtual machine, I get a lot of startup network messages (which are not since there is no installation of network boot).  I can't tell if she actually tries to boot from the iso file.

    My virtual machine properties are:

1 CD/DVD drive, connection to the power device Type = Datastore ISO file = esxi.iso

Is he really trying to start the iso file and think that it is not valid?  Or it not even try to boot from iso?  Can I disable attempts to network boot (I don't see any option in the BIOS of the virtual computer)?

I can start using the device Client (with the Windows Server 2003 cd into the optical drive of my pc).

I don't think you can remove the network boot option.  The virtual machine only generally goes to this last resort if all other boot options do not work.  As long as the .iso image file is good this process should work without problems in the future.

Please allow the points if it was useful.

    Thank you

  • Cannot install win10 using iso file training camp

I'm on OSX EL Capitan, fully updated.

Boot camp is not allowing me to use the ISO file to install windows iso 10 file.

It keeps prompting 'NO USB key. There is no usb drive connected to the system. Please insert a USB key to continue. "

He does not allow me to use the iso file, regardless of the option that I check or uncheck. It's extremely frustrating.

What is the year/model of your Mac? Your signature says 2013 iMac.

2015 and subsequent Macs use only ISO and create an internal partition called OSXRESERVED.

2012-2014 macs need an external USB2 Flash drive, which will be erased/formatted by BC Assistant. The ISO file needs to be disassembled and some elements of the ISO are copied on the USB.

Mac 2011 and more uses a physical Windows and built-in DVD in the optical drive must be fully functional.

    Hello

I suggest, that it can not ONLY play .avi files. Am I wrong?
In this case, you need additional codecs.
This has nothing to do with the DVD drivers or firmware.
Check the internet for the codec. I'm sure you will find a lot of info if you want to google a bit.

    Good luck
