    Hey @Staplers1,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you have some problems finding some documents that you have scanned your Photosmart plus to your computer Mac OSX 10.11. I can help you with that.

Your scanned documents should be in your Documents folder or your photos. You can find as well by going to your Sidebar and then click on the Home icon.

If your documents are not here, I suggest to digitize the image, or to initiate your scans to your Mac.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you are able to resolve your issues, please click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • Change administrator account name and now can't find My Documents

Tomorrow I'm helping a friend clean her Windows XP computer after her divorce.    He said he went into Control Panel, user accounts and accounts deleted for his sons and then changed the name on his account (Administrator) to his name.  Now he says that he cannot find his documents.  I guess that it should not have changed his account name to her name and instead made his account an administrative and then deleted his account.  Is there a way to fix this?   Thank you.

    Hi sillycat41,

Look in the C:/Documents and Settings folder, as to how much user account folders are present.
Maybe his account will have a different name.

Repair the damaged user account and check if it helps.
    For more information, see:

If this is insufficient, restore the system to an earlier point before making any changes to the user account.

where can I find my document saved that I worked from an e-mail, and then saved using backup on the Word icon?

Here are two things to try:

The file is saved in the Temporary Internet Files folder. To locate the path, open the attachment to new then, and now Alt, press F, and to open the Save as window. In the save window slot, right-click on another file in the list, and then click Properties. On the general tab, copy the full path to the location. Then, open a Windows Explorer window and paste the path copied into the address field. This is where the edited file was saved.

    Since Christmas

    Copy this line:

    Search-MS:DisplayName=temp%20Files&crumb=ext%3AZZZ*&crumb=location:shell:cache%5CContent.IE5

    Now press Windows-E, Ctrl-Alt-D-V

ZZZ change to the extension of the file you edited, and then press enter.

This should show all the recently saved files in temporary Internet files with this extension. Good luck!

PS Si the file is, please copy in your documents folder before anything else. Open the copy to work.

  • LEARNING OF BATCH FILES AND WINDOWS CANNOT FIND ' C:\DOCUMENTS'__

Technical info: Windows XP Pro SP 2. Microsft Office home and Student 2007. AVG Free 9.0.

    Hello

I am trying to learn the basics of Batch files and am confused right now. I can get a. BAT file to produce a BACK screen and play with some commands, but when I try to get a. BAT file to open a MS Word 07 Doc I get the following message

Windows cannot find 'C:\Documents '. It stops at Documents. When infact the entire address would include Documents\testdoc or something else. I use Notepad to write the. BAT files.

If I go into the file target itself and copy and paste the address in XP search utility, it locates the file (with a full name), instantly. But if I do the same copy and paste, paste the address directly in. BAT file for example: C:\windows, DEPARTURE etc etc... It is just straight up with the above mentioned error message.

All advice forge kindly appreciated. My ultimate goal is to learn how to create a Batch file that will erase the files in different directories about five or six on the click of a button.

    Thanks Mick.

I'm not an expert in writing .bat files. If no one else is here, you should post on the MSDN forums or there may be a group of newsgroups for .bat file writing.

  • How can I get pictures on my computer easier to find?

I have so many pictures on my computer that I can never find what I'm looking for. How can I make them easier to find?

Find a photo on your computer can be very difficult, especially if you have hundreds of pictures. Using Windows Photo Gallery, you can make it easier to find your pictures by applying tags and ratings for photos. Later, you can use the side Navigation or the search box to filter photos by tags or ratings.

    To add tags to photos

    1. open Windows Photo Gallery by clicking on the button Start , allprograms, and then clicking Windows Photo Gallery.

    2. click on the image you want to tag.

    3. If the information window is not displayed, click the toolbar information.

    4. in the details pane, click Add tags, type a tag name and press on ENTER.

I have been using InDesign for many years. Last week I suddenly discovered that I couldn't open a document by double-clicking on the desktop or wherever it was. Instead, now I have to find the document in the folder it's in, click on it once, and then click file in the bar at the top of the screen, go to open, then it will be open. Any ideas why this happened all of a sudden? In addition, in the bar on the top of a document, I can no longer change the Essentials to advanced or others. Seems to have everything that happened at the same time. Help appreciated please.

First of all: this has nothing to do with InDesign, it has to do with your OS, so second: what operating system? Windows or Mac because to solve this problem, we need to know which. It's your operating system which has lost the connection with your program and document files.
