  OK, nothing is different tonight, but it just worked. I had just opened a chat to HP support and he gave another chance just to confirm, and I came to the page "registration successful".   I have seen this question several times in these forums, but solutions do not apply to me - I can not find the applications or the settings or patches do not resolve the problem. The bottom is cut roughly where a letter size page would end.

  In fact, the problem was located. I is broke and finally called HP support. It turns out that, contrary to the information that I have seen elsewhere, legal size paper MUST be analysed the ADF, not the dish. You can see a white band across the plateau where the search starts. The dish is physically unable to accommodate legal communication. Once the original is loaded in the ADF, the size of the document options now include legal communication.

  The document here can help solve the black lines to scan using the ADF on your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.  From my experience this is almost always caused by a specification on the thin glass on the side left which is used for scanning using the ADF.  Cleaning of this area as described in the above document should solve the problem.  If the initial cleanup does not resolve the problem, it can help to shine a bright flashlight almost parallel to the glass.  For a line on the left side of the printed page, the place will be toward the front of the printer, if the line is on the right side of the document, it must correspond to a specification to the rear of the printer.

  There is no way to scan directly to Word.  Simply not possible on this printer.  Not sure if this is possible on any printer to scan directly to Word.  What you can do, and it of a bit tedious, scan the document into a .pdf file, save the PDF, open the PDF, select all the items in the document, copy it to the Clipboard (Ctrl + C or right click and select copy), open Word, create a new document and paste the Clipboard into the Word document (Ctrl + V or right click and select Paste).  It is the only way to get the scans in word without conveting them form a .pdf, .doc or .docx.  I'm sorry.

  Thanks for your reply. I plugged directly into the wall after reading about it, some problems of fixing on the forums. He has nothing. I finally got annoyed when the problems started affected the printer completely. Three different people take off open back the front, looked on all the rolls and nothing found. I tried to check the ink cartridges to ensure that they have been inserted correctly. As I put my head down on the desk of boredom, I saw... A whole piece of the book all the way inside the printer behind the control panel. He managed to crumble by preventing sliding back properly and through the printer ink cartridges. I asked 2 people to come and look and see if they could find the same paper. No luck, lol. I showed them exactly where and they both were surprised that the size of the paper, and that they could not find. in any case, removed the paper... it's fixed! Thanks for the support!   I see you have a partial page printing problem when you use your HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one printer. I want to help you with this. I have some suggestions that might help.

  I think it is a problem of software, but just in case, try to make a copy of the façade - if printing result is normal appearance, fine. If this is not the case, click here to access hardware troubleshooting tips from HP.

  Assuming you were able to make a decent copy of the façade, we will assume that your printing problems are focused on software. Accordingly, I recommend you try the following steps:

  Uninstall your printer

  • Press the Windows key + r
  • Type of control panel and press enter
  • Click on programs and features
  • Select the driver for your printer from the list, and then click on uninstall.

  Remove temporary files from your PC:

  • Press the Windows key + r
  • Type %temp%, and then press enter
  • Press Ctrl + a to select all files
  • Press Delete
  • Note that some files do not delete - do not worry, this is normal. Simply click ignore that you're prompted.
  • Empty your trash at the end.

  Download the printer Installation Wizard

  Click here to install the HP printer install wizard (instead of directly using the printer driver). When you run it, this utility will facilitate what I hope it's a smoother and more efficient printer installation.

  If you scan directly from the printer, when you are on the menu to choose how you want to save the file (in format) there should be a lower left button that toggles between the original side 1 and 2 original faces.

  I have a Qwest DSL Modem/router that has 4 ports on the back.  I use 1 Port on the DSL Modem/Router to conntect to my NetGear router.  I use 2 ports on the router/DSL Modem to connect my printer HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus.  I use 3 Port on the DSL Modem/Router to connect my Brother MFC-7360N printer.  I do not use 4 Port of Modem/router DSL.

  My NetGear router is used to connect all cable (5) computer in the House.

  I was able to successfully install the software from the Brother printer on all computers and can print on the brother of one of the desktop printer.

  I have the HP printer software installed on all computers, but on WIN XP desktop pc I can not detect the printer on the network.  During the installation process, the software detects that the HP printer and the WIN XP pc are connected to two different routers (DSL Modem/Router is detected as a router by WIN XP pc).  On the another desktop running WIN8 or WIN7, it has no problem detection even if the printer is connected to the DSL Modem/Router, while the PC is connected to the NetGear router.

  Someone at - it some knowledge that why I'm having this problem.  The problem seems to be with the WIN XP pc and not the pc WIN7 or WIN8.
