It's safe: install fm9 and fm7.2 on a computer?

I want to try frame9 on a computer with 7.2 installed trial version (no structured, XP/SP3).

I have tons of work to do too much and cannot afford any cross-pollination (corruption of software,

driver conflicts, etc.). Anyone tried this? (I know about the backup of my docs, etc.).

Also:

-Any person found or written information on the migration of fm7.2 to fm9?

-Anyone tried this one been burned?

-No date of issue for fm9 (bug fixes, etc.?).

-East - fm9 processors multi use?

Suggestions or comments welcome.

Thank you.

James

[using the framework for fm1 and still alive!]

I'm sure you did this in the archives and lists of google for threads in the mailings for FrameMaker, so I'll just summarize the elements of your ball.

7 & 9 together? They coexist on the same system very well.

You asked:

Also:

-Any person found or written information on the migration of fm7.2 to fm9?

Probably several thousand of us. 9 has been out for a while.

-Anyone tried this one been burned?

A little - see below.

-No date of issue for fm9 (bug fixes, etc.?).

Well, of course you must apply 9 patches.

But your biggest problem is perhaps that 7 does not support Unicode fonts or characters, and FM has since 8. If 'special' characters may need to be remapped, and your font files are ancient formats, they can conform to Unicode.

-East - fm9 processors multi use?

NO.

***

When you work with files in 9 FM, which began its life in earlier versions, I took the 'cleansing' of all the component files used in the book. SaveAs of MIF, then open them and save it as. FM.  It's my POS for all files to a previous version that I opened at 9. You can do this at the level of the book if you install the omsys.com MIF2Go eval copy - it installs a utility WashToMif in files menu that works for all files in the book.

In a few cases, I also built new books to 9 just copied in the book 7 files, then regenerate the table of contents/Index and other generated files.

See you soon,.

  • How can I install Command and Conquer: Red Alert (Windows 95) on Windows 7?

Hello!  I tried to install Command and Conquer on my new computer that is running Windows 7, but it not even will let me install it, much less play.  I insert the disc, click on 'Install Red Alert' and it gives me a progress bar indicating "Preparing Install Wizard" then the page install red alert rises, but a windows message said "this game is intended to be run from Windows 95." Whethee I click the X or 'OK' it just cancel the whole process.

I searched the database "Help and Support" (from the start menu of windows 7) "Installation old games.  I clikced on the result "make older programs run in this version of windows" from there, I clicked on the link to open the document "program Compatability Troubleshooter."  The program I want to run (red alert) did not appear, so I clicked "unregistered". It prompted me to enter the location of the file, so I typed in the location "" E:\setup95\SETUP. "» EXE"was from there, I clicked on the"Try recommended settings"as my troubleshooting option. He gave me the "Compatibility of the test settings" page, so I clicked on the button "Start the program" (at this point, the default compatibility selection is Windows XP). From there on, a 'user account control' shield appears, so I type my user name and password.  The same thing happens as before: preparing to install the shield, and then cancel it.  So from there I click 'next' on the compatibility of the program window.  He said "Troubleshooting is complete, is solved the problem?  I say, "No test using different settings."  This gives 4 options to select, and one applies, so I will select "the program worked in earlier versions of windows but won't install or run now."  Then it takes me to a list where I can choose windows 95 and one host of others.  I selcet Windows 95 and click Next.  I was excited, but exactly the same thing happened as when I tried with the XP settings applied.  I give myself a user account control screen, I type the name and the password, but the same thing happens.  'Windows 6.1 is running.  It is a single product from windows 95. "And then I have to close it.   Any suggestions?

    Hi xPEZZx,

What version of Command and Conquer you trying to install?

Follow the link to the Windows 7 Compatibility Center that provides information on the different versions of the game.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/search.aspx?type=software&s=command%20and%20Conquer%20red%20alert

You can try to copy the configuration file for the game on your computer and so it works in compatibility mode and check if that helps. Execution of convenience store compatibility is just a workaround solution, if this does not help, you might need go to the new version of the game.

You can also contact the Publisher of the game and check if they can help you in the installation.

  • What is a torrent file and and is? is it safe to download and install it on my PC?

What is a torrent file and and is? is it safe to download and install it on my PC?

    Hello foxtrait,

Torrent is a small file (around), which contains all the information needed to download a file for that torrent was made. This means that it contains names of files, their sizes, where to download and so on. You can get torrents for almost anything on a lot of websites and torrent search engines.

Torrent is the most popular way to download large files, including movies and games (remember legality of downloading).

If you ask me if it is safe, it depends on the source it comes from. All torrents come from different sources.

You will need a torrent client to use torrents. I suggest that you use your favorite search engine and look for customers if you want to install it.

Upgrade to Firefox 25.0 today. Now I can't restart the computer (it crashes or goes to the blue screen; Win 7) but it starts in Mode safe mode OK and it starts in normal mode if I don't run Firefox since I finally started. This suggests that Firefox 25.0 installation done something for her. How can I proceed? Thank you, Jim.

    Hello

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

Please report back to see if this helped you!

    Thank you.

  • Vista Ultimate SP1 Pro: repeated failures to install SP2 and several failures repeat to install some other upgrades second request for help)

    Hello

I'm a professional software developer, and in the last five days I have tried in vain to upgrade my Vista Ultimate Pro (purchased in the United States two years ago) SP1 to SP2 and make that the machine is in use.

I would like professional assistance with this question and the advice to do a "clean" installation and annihilate the four days of settings and configuration of programs and software development tools is not a satisfactory answer: I want to know why I can't do an "upgrade" install: why 'upgrade install' disabled when I launch setup.exe from the original DVD / install install Vista?

1 SP2 will not install (from Windows Update or the downloaded standalone installer from MS) (see my previous post here):

for details and for a response of S. Bodin who gave no useful tips).

2 56! other updates appear repeatedly as needing to be installed, and then they re - install whenever I have closed the computer, and, when I re - starts, they appear as being initialized, or whatever, once again.

3 IE8 is already installed, .NET FrameWork 3.5 + is already installed (as part of the VS 2010 beta install), but they appear in the queue of facility among the 56 other updates.

I can honestly say I've lost a lot of time and money dealing with the problems of Vista: it's one of the reasons I have not used for more than a year: I had hoped at the time of SP2, it would be stable enough to use.
