  All the old brush files still work in Photoshop CS6 and newer versions of Photoshop as well.

  Check your brush settings and color and mode you use mix.

  This problem is solved.  The solution is complex, and since several other threads having to do with this seemed not resolved, I'll give you some details.  I got an Adobe Customer Service exceptionally positive experience when I called support and has worked with a great Adobe tech support specialist, who was certain that it was a permissions problem.  Unlike all other permissions I've seen discussed, she changed several permissions, including the effective permissions for user/Library/Preferences.  in other words, all of the Preferences folder in the library of the user, not only the components of Adobe.  How it would have been changed and apparently changed just for the download of the CS6 update, I can't guess, if in fact it was.

  Technical Support Analyst (screen sharing) Adobe resets several other permissions read and write, but it was very mysterious for others to be aware of.  In the Get Info / component permissions, initially the real user account (there is only one on this machine) and the admin were not visible.  She added the button "+" in this pane.  Once visible, they could not be changed, a mystery that is still not resolved.  She said (quite rightly) that this problem was not something related to Adobe software, but to this machine, and that Apple should be able to help.  The final mystery is that when I phoned to that apple a few hours later, the two permissions (user account and system) can now be changed.

  Once the permission for the user/Library/Preferences folder has been set to read and write for the user account that I was using, the problem has been completely resolved.  I can't be sure that he was not also partially solved by some of the other permissions that the Tech support specialist had changed for me.

  I just bought a brand new Alienware M17x R4 with Windows 8 Pro x 64 and Photoshop CS6 does not recognize my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675 M GPU?

  My bad... or rather, Nvidia is bad!

  In their app Profiler, they set Photoshop to use the settings "by default", which defaults to the built-in graphics card.  By changing the profile so that it uses the discrete graphics, it worked!

  It also fixed my issue of the flashing background / flicker.

  I know it's a bug known with Windows 8 + AMD (http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/image-background-transparent-or-flickers.html)

  However, Adobe should look at this same bug occurring with the HD4000 Intel Integrated GPU, because this happened with my laptop.

  Maybe this bug does not occur on systems that don't have a GPU integrated, but on systems with Optimus, that's certainly a reproducible issue.

  When I go to integrated, the question pops up again.

  It's nice that Nvidia offers an option for us to use the graphics integrated or discrete, however, Adobe must proceed and make sure that Photoshop doesn't wig when we use the Integrated GPU.  Sometimes, your customers need to do work on the energy of the built-in battery, so the flicker /flashing / transparent background bug should definitely be fixed.

  Personally, I can get 6 hours out of this laptop that runs the built-in GPU, but when I use the discreet, he cut down to only 2 hours.

Well, when you use a program such as FireFox, and you realize that you need an image from Photoshop (which is already open), you click on the application icon to bring it forward, or to change the "focus". This is what I have a problem with. It was not as bad, earlier, but now it happens on EVERY shot that I do. I hold the left button of the mouse down to make a stroke, I made a mistake and press Cmd + Alt + Z to undo. I can make as many shots as I need, but when I use a command keyboard or something like that, immediately the application loses focus. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong! I have to click on the Photoshop tool bar to bring the focus, and that REALLY slows down my work flow. Anyone could point out what I'm doing wrong? Is this just a bug with the version I'm using?

  You install Camera Raw 9.1.1 for Photoshop CS6, which is the maximum it can support.

  As you use OM - D E - M10 Mark II, it will not work with Photoshop CS6 because this requires minimal 9.2 Camera Raw Plugin. So either you upgrade Photoshop to CC 2016 or use the DNG Converter to convert your images to DNG, and use it with Photoshop CS6.

  I recently noticed something rare when working with Photoshop CS6 under Mac OS X 10.8.x.
  When I tried of course select a layer by the [command + click] (say) shortened, it failed. This little thing was driving me crazy, and I don't know that he must do some people without hair, too.

  Anyway (s), looking at another thread to read-only, I noticed the problem has not been resolved and received pretty lame recommendations. Luckily, I finally found the solution and was able to solve this small inconvenience that maybe we've all experienced. So here's the workaround solution, then maybe you never will consider downgraded to 5.5 again as I was thinking:

  (1) in Photoshop, make sure that the move tool is activated by pressing "V";
  (2) in the submenu of the tool, forget the selection/marking 'automatic selection '. I know that sounds nonsense, believe me;

  (3) Although, sure of 'sex' is selected next to the 'Automatic Selection' button and you should be as I am.

  I hope this can help some people! I would be very happy to know, since I just created this account to help you guys.
