Pavilion HP dv7 4177 nr: Reocvery discs

If anyone can help.  Still problems with my recovery disks.  Tried it today and got this error message: \preload\base 17. WIM to c:\RM\IMAGE\base 17. WIM

@Steel16: I have answered you on this problem in the Expert section earlier today.  I still think that, given that HP will not help, you should check the alternative site, I suggested.

Good luck

Question fast-waiting on the recovery disk.  The first did not work.  In any case I'll have to get out of hard drive. It is not the original one.  The original was to be placed.  I just wanted to because everything I have read States out of new equipment in-house.  If so, when I put the hard drive once the discs are made with recovery and what the disk driver and application.  I'm trying to get all my questions in a post instead of several.

  • Pavilion DV7-4177: 4177 Pavilion DV7 Error Codes?

I have a Pavilion DV7 4177 that won't start, beep 15 times. The Caps Lock Led flashes 3 times in repetitive cycles. At HP I guess 3 led flashing documents indicate memory error, but what is sound? The screen stays black and there is no other message. I'd appreciate any help.

    Thank you.

The most common cause of a computer beep when starting is a module.3 of cowards or bad memory flashes is also indicative of the loose or bad memory module. While is is not terribly common for both to fail at the same time, it happens. If it were my laptop I would try a new memory module-even one only if the budget is a problem.

  • HP pavilion dv7-4177 nr: crashed hard drive

I have extra need to read comments on the boards.  I understand that I must make a new hard drive.  Also read you can buy casing external hard disk and plug in another computer to see if you can make files that cannot be lost. It doesn't matter if connect you to a desktop as opposed to another laptop?  Also, I know once you replace the hard drive your software has disappeared.  I don't no laptop back.  Is there a way to get a recovery disk? I'll lose everything that has been preloaded when I bought the laptop as beats audio light scribe, assistant wireless hp, amd graphics card, etc.  I hope that I am clear.  I know that I can replace the drive myself.  I was wondering if I'll be able to back up all files.

    Thank you

Thank you for your help.  I ordered the kit from recovery disc.  See what's happening.  In the future will save my files.  You never know.  Never had any problems with my computer hp laptop so far.  The only thing I replaced to the battery and the power cord.  It's good to know I can come and ask a question and get help.

  • HP pavilion dv7-4177 nr: 10 Windows

I wished that I fell on this forum before I upgraded to Windows 10.  Got the update free and had problems to load even.  Had to call to Microsoft several times.  Finally worked and I don't complain, or anything, but now my system crashed and have to replace the hard drive.  I am so suspicious to upgrade to Windows 10 does my hard drive crashed again.  I'm not saying what he do.  I had a power cord off on me as well.  I didn't know that you need drivers too.  I didn't like the fact that I could not use wipe finger and kept receiving error messages.  I learned a lot from reading this forum on HP.  I had my laptop and love it.  What should have been down is more than tips on downloading Windows 10 and what you need to do in secular terms.  I couldn't even change the locked screen image.  I know with anything new, there will be bugs until it resolves, but I am so suspicious to go to Windows 10.  I can just stay in Windows 7.  My office is always Windows XP I replaced with 8.0 or 8.1.  Do not remember that we hand.  Ensuring that I am make back up files and not make the same mistake I did with my laptop.

Thanks for responding back.  I'll stick with Windows 7.  Thanks for the information.  Now I have to wait for my recovery disk kit and I already bought a new hard drive I want to replace the hard drive and see what happens.

  • HP Pavilion model: dv7 - 3085dx

You help me find the correct supply for the dv7 - 3085dx who was just given to me by a parent?  the adapter that I use now will only work the computer and will not charge the battery.  I use a HP RN193 power supply now that is only turning off Watt 120 Volt 18.5 and 3.5 amps, while specifications provide 120 watts, Volts 18.5 and 6.5 amps.  What is the right adapter and where can I get one?  I'll damage my computer using the wrong adapter?

    Hi @JMM64

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand your concern about this adapter you are using. Looks like it is mislabeled or something, because 18.5V to 3.5 Amps is not out of 120 Watts, it instead of 65 Watts. Is this a HP one adapter or third party peripheral? I would not recommend the use of this card, in order to feature. The main problem will be if you attach other devices to your laptop, increasing its power consumption. It is possible, it will work, but could be erratic if you use external devices, or DVD, or put more tension on the graphics card of the applications. The system can just Brown out on you, because food can not handle the expectations are higher, when these conditions are met.

For your reference, here's the HP Pavilion dv7 Entertainment PC - Maintenance and Service of Guide

On page 3-10 in this manual is the part number for the power adapters supported, so presumably it's the 120W you are looking for. There is also an adapter 90W on the same page.

Here is the part number for the: 120-W AC adapter 463953-001

  • I messed up my pavilion dv9700 with windows on two discs

I messed up my Pavilion 9700 with somehow Windows 7 on both drives, and then I couldn't do anything.  I took out the two discs, purchased another, installed as primary, installed Windows 7 and it is fine now.  However, I would like to be in a position to one of the players as the secondary, but I'm afraid to put it in.  How to wipe it or reformat so I can use it?  Thanks for any help.

  • Microphone and speakers won't work - HP Pavilion laptop dv7

    Hello

Last night I was using Skype and my internal MIC was not working (it's the only microphone that I had). I was confused and he looked in the forums of HP and found this: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-PC-Sound-and-Audio/dv7-Pavilion-integrated-microphone-array-Sk...

    I followed the instructions:

Check if it works, otherwise you have to uninstall and reinstall the driver.

    1. click on start, type: DEVMGMT. MSC in the search field and then press ENTER. It opens the Device Manager window.
    2. go to the category 'Sound, video and game controllers' and expand it. Right-click on the entry of the IDT high definition Audio Device, and then click on uninstall

    3. click on start-> all programs-online REcovery Manager-> click Dirver Hardware installation, select the Sound Driver entry and click on install.

For step 3, I am looking for the Recovery Manager and I find the HP Recovery Manager, I then select "drivers and reinstall applications" to the title of immediate assistance. I tried to reinstall the driver for IDT HD Audio Driver. Tried twice and both times it failed.

Now my computer doesn't have speakers... When I hover over the volume icon in my toolbar, it is said that there is no speakers or headphones installed. I need my speakers... Is this something that can be corrected?

I don't have the capabilities to mic. When I go into the properties for under sound recording, there are NO MICROPHONES appear. I bought a microphone, external and plugged in, and it does not work as well. The microphone is not as important to me as the issue of the speaker, but I still want this corrected.

If anyone can help? I know that I probably did something wrong and I'm far from being 'good' with computers... Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you

    Amanda

    Hi Amanda,.

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp52501-53000/sp52658.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you're done, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

    Kind regards

    Can someone, please.

    Thank you very much

Your hard drive is dying quickly and must be replaced. If you have not burnt the recovery discs again I'd get burn soon or you will have to order from HP. You will need to boot and install Windows when you put the new drive in.

  • Satellite A300-23F: would reocvery disc format my HARD drive?

I lost my windows recovery disk and ordered the recovery disc for my toshiba SATELLITE A300-23F that has windows vista.
For the moment, I have windows xp trial intalled on my laptop.
If I install windows vista from the recovery disk, it will erase all the data already on my hard drive, including partitions, or it will automatically move into diving C:

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, the recovery disk would firstly format the whole HARD drive.
This means that all partition will be deleted, and that means you lose everything that was stored on the HARD drive.

Therefore, you must back up important data before you begin the recovery procedure.

    Welcome them
