    Hello

Ive just got my new laptop A100 Sat Pro and check that everything works
I noticed that when accessing a dvd in the dvd/cdrw Mat * one player combo UJDA770
He is much stronger with pronounced sounds/cries as he accessed but subsequently, he
can play a movie dvd without much noise. Including these noises ar not when a cd is
    in the drive.

I am new to laptops, and I don't know if this is normal because the disk is so small?

You could someon please let me know if this is normal or not?

    Thank you

    Kevin

    Hey Kevin,

As you can imagine, it's not easy trying to diagnose noises without being able to hear, but there are various noises emanating from the optical drives depending on what they are doing both.

These sounds are usually a slight noise whirring when the disc actually rotates. applied by a series of light clicks as the lens unit is positioned to read the titles of the index. Once this has been done the unit should return to its noise whirring normal light as the disc is read progressively.

However, some drives, including the data (games or software) will produce more evidnet clicking and rattling from the unit of the lens are having to constantly reposition themselves in various locations on the drive.

In addition to the above, some discs are not quite concentric and this can set up a slight oscillation of the disc as it spins. This will be evident by a distinct rumbling noise as the disc rotates.

If the device emits a loud noise then it will normally indicate a contact between the disc and a part of the possible training of the lens or the drive nut. This is definitely not normal and if this occurs several times and on different disks, then I'd have the optical drive, checked by a Toshiba ASP.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite P200: noisy dvd drive

    Hi ppl, there.

I have a satellite P200 and if I put a disc in the dvd drive, it is very noisy until the disk has been read.

Any one of the other with that?

    Hi Graham

Do you think this loud noise could be linked to the defective CD/DVD drive?
My drive is also noisy until the CD or the DVD reaches full speed.
In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with the drive, but if you wish, you can contact the ASP in your country for details.

    Best regards

  • Incredibly noisy DVD

I ordered my W700 on 11/19 and received a shipdate 11/27. 27 came and he moved to 12/7, so I called and cancelled. And that's 2 days ago, I get the thing shipped anyway, so enough of the backstory...

The laptop is fine except the drive DVD is strong as a mixer. Easy solution? Not so much. Lenovo is apparently out of stock on DVD readers (so who still fix it). I'm not going to ship this thing in for repairs and wait. So I decide to send it back and am bounced from one line to the other with 15 minute + wait time to speak to someone to whom I gave up on. I think my next step is cancelling the charge with my Bank and you letting the guy contacting him.

He spends on all of your Tv dvd series? or just isolated from discs produce this noise, are also automatically using bootleg discs or legitimate? This problem means generally either the drive is unbalanced or the discs themselves are not perfectly symmtrical. Also in your bios in performance mode, choose silence rather than performance for the disk drive.

  • Noisy DVD...

Any way to make the quiet dvd watching movies?

You have a parameter in the Power Manager where you can choose high performance, silent or normal for the speed of the CD-Rom. You can find it under 'Global Power Setting-> advanced options'. I don't know if it will help, but you can try to change this setting for quiet. If it makes not a difference, it would be useful to know what kind of Thinkpad, we are talking about here.

  • Is it safe to delete all files from "C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp' __evry time I do and then try to use MS Office it asks me the install files. I'm reinstalling MS Office 2007 in its original DVD.

I deleted all files in the TEMP folder. So when I try to open any MS Office 2007 program, it has me reinstall the suite complete from the original DVD, because the msi file is not the correct version. Is this normal?

No problem as an administrator. Seems that the problem has nothing to do with the TEMP folder.

  • Noisy dvd ROM

Very often, when I insert a CD or a DVD on DVD ROM, it produces great sound. Although the display is fine.

Swap the optical drive out for a well-known work. The replacement drive is quiet? If Yes, take the original drive since it is a failure. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

Unfortunately, we do not manufacture stand-alone player/receiver; speakers will always be bundled with the player or the main unit.

  • Satellite M30x + Win7: DVD not detected by the CD/DVD drive

    Hello

    I use a M30x since 2004 with its CD/DVD drive * a S mat. DVD-RAM UJ-831
When I was with Windows XP, I have never had problems to read or write on CD, CD - R, DVD, DVD - R or DVD - RW. But recently I installed windows seven, and since that day the drive won't recognize the DVD. I can still read and burn CDs and CD - R. I'm burning the same Virgin DVD-+ R/RW as before, but the drive won't detect them. Those I have already burn are not detected or the other.
My computer says that the CD/DVD drive work properly and drivers are up to date.
I tried to clean the lens, but nothing has changed. And I tried to reinstall the drivers, but I could not found for windows seven.

    Thanks for the help.

    Hi all

I recently bought a new Toshiba Satellite P200-1EE.
However its HD-DVD player would not play a movie HD DVD (Transformers) at all!

When I insert the disk it shows the first screen - language selection Menu
When I choose English or anything else out there it just crashes and beyond would play.

I had the same problem with another disc too.

All the world has experienced the same problem and managed to resolve it?

I went through some of the other solutions given here inculding update to the latest drivers etc, but nothing seems not to help.

Thank you very much - Arvind

    Hello

You should visit the page of the Toshiba driver and need to update the firmware of CD/DVD players and HD Toshiba DVD player software.

    This aid comes of course!

  • Satellite U300-152: DVD Player hangs after two chapters of the film

I have read the DVD using Windows Media Player, Media Center and Player Toshiba DVD movie but he eventually hangs and does not continue.

I tried another DVD movie but it's the same deal, it doesn't push through. Do you think that there is a problem in the DVD-ROM or is it just the DVD movie? Anyway, it's a hacked DVD, a copy, I bought cheap in sidewalks, but I thought that the DVD-ROM of this laptop could play anything, just?

Spare part for my ignorance. I'm new with this stuff. Ciao. Thank you.

    > Its a DVD hacked a copy I bought cheap in sidewalks, but I thought that the DVD-ROM of this laptop could play anything, just?

    That s not quite right.
Of course, the CD/DVD drive can read different media but sometimes it possible s that the CD or DVD media can be not fully supported by CD/DVD drive. That s nothing unusual

But it would be very interesting to know if you can watch original DVD movies. ?:|
I mean not a copy or something like that.

If you will be able to watch different films on DVD, then there s nothing wrong with your CD/DVD drive.

    Hello

Eventually, you pay the wav volume control or readers to a higher level.
This should be possible in the sound properties located in the control panel.

    Select this check box.

  • Satellite Pro S500-10F - cannot reinstall the operating system

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro S500-10F provided with Windows 7 Professional with downgrade rights (and DVD) to XP Pro. I downgraded to XP Pro and everything worked fine (I did it on a number of similar machines).

Then Windows started to have problems and crashing with BSOD. I decided to rebuild the machine to reinstall Windows XP Pro from DVD supplied with the machine. The thing is it gets 2% and then gives the BSOD.

I thought it was the hard drive because there was some disk errors when it removed and put it outside of another machine, so replaced. Still the same problem. I tried to connect external USB DVD drive and boot from that. He did indeed start the external drive but then for some reason, try to copy the files of its own DVD player. I tried to reinstall Windows 7 Pro of the DVD to the top together, I created, this failed. I tried to install Windows XP Pro since version box and have failed.

At this stage do not know if DVD player or what. He tried to build start player flash, but even if the system seen as boot option, then tried to boot from the network?

    Any help much appreciated.
    Thank you
    J

    Hey Buddy,

To be honest I put t think that it is what you can do. You have tested the recovery disk and a new HARD drive, but the same happens. So that would mean it's hardware related problem.

TOSHIBA recovery disk contains an image pre-tested all drivers and tools. This means that you can still install Windows recovery disc and it will work. If it's not (like in your case) it something wrong with the hardware.

If your laptop is still under warranty valid, you can bring it to a service provider allowed in your country and guys can fix this for free because of the guarantee. Get in touch with technicians and explain your problem, they will sort it out for you. ;)
