Satellite U300-152: DVD Player hangs after two chapters of the film

I have read the DVD using Windows Media Player, Media Center and Player Toshiba DVD movie but he eventually hangs and does not continue.

I tried another DVD movie but it's the same deal, it doesn't push through. Do you think that there is a problem in the DVD-ROM or is it just the DVD movie? Anyway, it's a hacked DVD, a copy, I bought cheap in sidewalks, but I thought that the DVD-ROM of this laptop could play anything, just?

Spare part for my ignorance. I'm new with this stuff. Ciao. Thank you.

> Its a DVD hacked a copy I bought cheap in sidewalks, but I thought that the DVD-ROM of this laptop could play anything, just?

That s not quite right.
Of course, the CD/DVD drive can read different media but sometimes it possible s that the CD or DVD media can be not fully supported by CD/DVD drive. That s nothing unusual

But it would be very interesting to know if you can watch original DVD movies. ?:|
I mean not a copy or something like that.

If you will be able to watch different films on DVD, then there s nothing wrong with your CD/DVD drive.

Greetings

  • Satellite U300: Toshiba DVD player does not work properly

Hello, yesterday I downloaded a new driver for Toshiba DVD player (only had the laptop a week or two).

Now when I try to play a DVD it tells me "unable to output the video to an external device. Please change your display device by pressing the Fn + F5 keys after the end of the application"

Now, I closed the dvd and then did as he said with the Fn + F5 keys, but this seems to get me nowhere. It appears the laptop and the lcd screen icons are highlighted.

    Any suggestions please?

    Hi mate,

It seems that the pilot has some sort of problems. What you might try is to restore the system to a previous restore point.
With luck, you could play your DVD´s again with the player from Toshiba, but I suggest you wait for the next update, maybe they will fix this problem.

You can also use the "VideoLan" drive which is freeware and probably one of the best available players that can play almost all formats. If you want to try the drive, then just go here-> www.videolan.org/

Otherwise, you can perform a restore, use the Toshiba DVD player and wait until toshiba released a new update that works...

    Welcome them

  • Satellite U300-152 - no audio output device is installed

The sounds are works well when I do update windows, update antivirus and updated some software like adobe air and adobe shockwave but when I open the laptop the next morning, there is a red cross marked in the speaker icon on the lower right of the laptop and it says : "no audio output device is installed".

I couldn't find the sound and game controller in Device Manager so I'm frustrated. Its been 3 days now, I use the laptop without noise.

Can you please help me in this matter?

My laptop is Toshiba Satellite U300-152
Windows 7 Ultimate but not pre-installed (Vista Home has been the pre-installed)

I tried to download the latest audio driver from realtek high defintion, but its still does not. Tried several restarts, System Restore, disable antivirus but does not yet.

I don't know what can be the problem but the fact is that updates Windows update offers some drivers and, in general, you should not install their Mr. with other words, you should only use the drivers from Toshiba.

What can you do now? Have you tried to reduce the OS to an earlier time (before installing updates) and check the functionality?

One last thing. Software driver Sound should start with Windows, then please check MSCONFIG > startup if the sound software is listed and enabled it.

  • Satellite A500 - video/dvd player is not compatible with Windows 10

After having recently updated of my laptop for windows 10 I discovered that the dvd player does not work. A message is displayed informing that the player is not compatible with this version of windows. A scan using Norton suggests dvd will not work because it needs to be configured.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Obviously, Toshiba DVD playback application that is preinstalled on this Satellite A500 model is not compatible with the system Windows 10.

In this case this software will not properly work after the upgrade to win 10 and I guess you have to remove the system Win 10.

Unfortunately, the Satellite A500 is not listed as Win 10 portable computers and so I don't think you will get an update to this software for DVD playback.

Here is a list of models supported for upgrading to Windows 10

  • Satellite A205 - screwdriver-DVD Player problems

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A205
My operating system is: Windows Vista: Home Premium, 32-bit operating system

    I have a RUG * A DVD-RAM UJ-850 s ATA DEVICE

I haven't installed any strange software or had any new hardware installed, but the DVD player decided one day that it wasn't going to work. The CD still works fine, but the DVD player gave me at the beginning of messages as:

"An error has occurred in the audio output settings. Please check audio driver is set up correctly. "So I tried, update, then just uninstalled and reinstalled the audio driver. No luck.

I tried all sorts of things from other forums, and after a few weeks of this issue, I am at a total loss. I can not even find the real driver for this DVD player, it may be available, but there are so many forums on problems with this unit, I can't sort what is relevant to me and what is not. I tried the update, removal and relocation of the family of chipsets, I tried to completely clean all the drivers and re - install... and now as I said I can't even return original driver.

    How do I fix this?

I don't know which DVD player, you used but, in my opinion, now the situation is quite complicated. Who knows what you have installed successfully, and what happens now.

    I recommend you to follow:
Back up all your important data
Install the OS by using the recovery image (its windows should work fine)
Check in Device Manager if all the hardware components are installed correctly
Some audio CD and a function test
Check the functionality of DVD player (I recommend you to use VLC media player)

If the problem persists let us know.

  • Satellite P200-1EE: DVD player HD Toshiba "video output for external device cannot".

    Need help!

My P200-1EE won't play HD DVDs. At startup the HD DVD software with an HD DVD in the drive, the drive displays on the screen, and after a short time returns an error. The message is ' + Toshiba HD DVD Player - impossible to output the video to an external device. Please change your display device by pressing the FN + F5 keys after the end of the application ' +.

Problem is that I do not use any display on the screen of the laptop. Only the screen of the laptop is available when I use FN + F5 suggestion. It does not cure the problem.

Drivers are up to date as far as I can tell.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hello

I searched this forum for similar issues and I think I have a solution.
It seems that the Realtek audio driver causes this problem.

According to this Toshiba document a new soud driver installation will help you solve this problem of HD - DVD.

    Check it;
HD DVD title does not play ("unable to output the video to an external device")

  • Satellite Pro U400 - 15 p hangs after enabling the Realtek RTL8187B WLan card

    Hello

I recently bought the Toshiba Satellite Pro u400 - 15 p. This notebook is originally without any operating system included. I installed Windows XP Home SP3 on it and downloaded all the drivers from the Web from Toshiba website. Everything works well except the WiFi - RTL8187B.

Driver has been installed correctly, when I turn the WLAN on everything is always OK, but when I connect to a network wireless Windows XP hangs after some time - without notice or BSOD - and the only thing I can do is to restart the PC holding down the button for 5 seconds.

    I have:
    -installed the latest BIOS (v3.70),
-installed the last version of drivers available (v6.1150.1112.2008)
-tried how it works on Vista Home Basic - it does not either, but on Vista only connection must be reset.

I searched on the web (perhaps not all), including this forum, but I was unable to find a solution.
Now I am seriously considering warranty claim, please help me to avoid that it ;)

    Hello

    It's really strange.
Are you sure that this happens because of the WLan card activated 100%?
I mean there could be another reason for this gel

I'm U400 too and I m running Win XP and Vista without problem!
At that time, I m using WiFi and everything works ok

I think it s not a Wlan related question, but there must be another reason why this laptop locks maybe a problem of RAM or something like that.

I have a Satellite L300D. The DVD player has somehow been uninstalled, and I have no idea how the have reinstalled.

I m not technical in the slightest so any help would be cool.

  • Satellite M105-S3041 DVD player

Anyone know, which brand of DVD player should have Satellite M105-S3041, because in my PIONEER DVD-RW-DVR-K16A comp.is and I think that this driver is not DVD SuperMulti.

Why you just don't check s manuals for your laptop. There you should find a list of all the sides built into your laptop model. There are also list with all compatible dimensions. Most models of laptops come with a few different sides and it is possible that your laptop is delivered without player Super multi.

BTW: have you bought new and original book packed or maybe used one?

It seems that "Toshiba PC Health Monitor" is the reason for this strange noise rattling.

Disable the "Toshiba PC Health Monitor" in the msconfig Startup tab.

  • Satellite L300D-11V - DVD player does not work

    Hello

I am a Satellite L300D-11V and the driver on the CD does not work. I think is not the right driver and an update of Windows could have messed up.
Anyone know where I can download the correct driver for the DVD player for Vista? Or solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Mounira.

    Hello!

I put t understand why you need a CD/DVD driver or tell you the driver does not work.

The CD/DVD driver for the reader is part of Windows. You don't need one and should not install a new or something else. When you have problems with the drive, it s not the driver, it s another issue.

Now have yellow marks in the Device Manager and can use the drive? On the right, a right click on the drive and select uninstall. Restart your laptop, and the driver should be installed automatically.

    Good bye

  • Satellite U300-13U - DVD playback is choppy

    Hello

I have a U300 13U and since it is I was unable to watch DVD because reading is so jerky. I tried many different programs to DVD player and it makes no difference. I tried to install many video codecs, but the problem persists. The DVD player plays audio CDs fine so I don't think it's a problem with that. I thought that there would be other things are:

    -problems with the video/graphics card?
-need a upgrade memory (although 2 GB should be more than enough for a DVD)?
-problems with vista (and it's General drain on the CPU)?

I was wondering if anyone else has had similar problems and if someone thinks it is worth upgrading the RAM or install XP?

    All advice appreciated.

    Becky.

    Hello

Have you tried the VLC media player for DVDs? A few days ago, I also noticed some problems with reading DVD on Windows media player, but with VLC media player, I've never had a problem.
The player is a free and easy to use software. Use Google to find out.

You use the factory settings or you have installed your own version of Windows?
Have you installed all the service packs and updates?

  • Satellite P25-S520 - DVD player does not work properly

Difficulty of DVD player or buy the external drive

My DVD player does not work properly, in fact it can never work properly. Recently, I tried to back up my PC on a DVD using Norton 360. Norton did not recognize that the DVD was present. Then I tried to write a text file on a DVD and was a failure. DVD + R and DVD-R media were found to be (Maxwell 16 X).

I could have probably lived with this however, I received a copy of Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 10 on a CD and my Toshiba would not recognize it. I tried the CD in my laptop nearby and it was recognized.

An attempt to update the driver has also fails.

I was able to copy a CD of music last night so that at least works properly.

Does anyone know how can I fix? The important part is to be able to load my new program.

Research on some forums I found that other people have had problems with the Pioneer drive. If the drive can't be fixed, I'm not adverse to buying an external DVD drive. Unfortunately, where I live there is no brick and mortar stores selling external drives and I prefer to avoid the hassle of getting a drive online and discovering that it does not work with my Toshiba. Can someone suggest an external USB drive that will read and write CD and DVD and is certain to be compatible with my Toshiba?

    Thanks for any help,

Any external USB CD/DVD drive will be compatible with your laptop.

However, you won't be able to boot from CD (run recovery for example) If you are using an external drive.

So, your best option would be to replace the internal drive with a Toshiba drive designed for the laptop. Call an ASP and request a quote.
