Satellite P200: noisy dvd drive

Hi ppl, there.

I have a satellite P200 and if I put a disc in the dvd drive, it is very noisy until the disk has been read.

Any one of the other with that?

Hi Graham

Do you think this loud noise could be linked to the defective CD/DVD drive?
My drive is also noisy until the CD or the DVD reaches full speed.
In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with the drive, but if you wish, you can contact the ASP in your country for details.

Best regards

    Hello.

I have a problem with my Satellite P200-1: can not read HD DVD. There is a message that says that the video may not be in an external device.

The problem is the same if I try on the screen of the laptop or on the TV (Sony Bravia Full HD) with HDMI. I have the latest driver and software for vista sp1 installed...

    I think I know what's wrong;

    Check this Toshiba TB document;

    [HD DVD title does not play ("unable to output the video to an external device"): http://askiris.toshiba.com/ToshibaSupportSite/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=1664 788xml & sliceId = & dialogid = 41741513 & stateId = 0% 200% 20 41739828]

To resolve this problem, you will need to update the Audio driver Realtek for Windows Vista.

Can someone help me with the LAN driver for Satellite P200-1FJ? I have Windows 7 64 bit, when I ask for this driver in the toshiba site, reed "Sorry we couldn't find drivers corresponding to your search criteria."

    Hi legiadb,

The drivers, you can download here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

As you've probably seen, there is no 64-bit Windows 7 driver available, so I recommend you test a 64 bit Vista driver.
    It works on Windows 7?

Solution check the Realtek page directly ;)

    Hello

To be honest, I don't understand. You are talking about the Cd/Dvd drive missing or Dvd Toshiba player?

    Anyway, try this:

    1. access to the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Reboot the laptop and wait for the CD/DVD drive would appear once again

    or

2 go to the page of the Toshiba driver and download dvd player

  • Satellite L40 - CD/DVD drive does not end to close after burning

    Hello

My TOSHIBA SATELLITE L40 works correctly under VISTA HOME PREMIUM. This is the first time that I realize that the CD/DVD driver is unable to complete a session of engraving using NERO8, NERO9, ASHAMPO TSHIBA DISC CREATOR or in Windows mode. The burn starts fine from 0% to 100% where it remains for a long time. Where can be the problem come from? Is the driver broken only for burning?

It correctly reads all CDs and DVDs once loaded.

    Thank you!

    Hello

I think that this problem can be caused by using fully compatible diskettes
I had many problems with different CD or DVD from different manufacturers.
I tested several brands and finally I had a good experience with TDK discs Verbatim R my disk manages this disc better than others

Perhaps, you should also test different drives from different manufacturers.

  • Satellite C660 - 11K DVD drive does not

I was just become acquainted with my new laptop Satellite C660 - 11K that I bought for Christmas and came to try playing a DVD for the first time tonight.

The first one I tried was a business produced in format DVD RW DVD. When I inserted in the DVD player, I got a "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem during playback of the file" error message. Following the troubleshooting guide to check my sound, video settings and game controllers do not solve the problem.

I then tried a purchased movie DVD (DVD-video format) and received the same error message.

Finally, I have inserted an audio CD purchased and tried to play it through Windows Media Player and iTunes, but could not play all titles. The Gracenote software did, however, identify the CD and track names.

By Device Manager, I found that my DVD drive is a TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633C and that it is enabled, the value of region 2 DVD and it has drivers up to date.

Am I missing something stupid that prevents me to get my DVD player to work, or do I have a defective DVD player?

Any help or ideas greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hi mate

Perhaps you need a firmware update for the CD/DVD drive.
    I found this Toshiba document:

+ ODD Firmware Update to fix problems with audio sound distortion on playback of the CD in Windows 7 +.
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB0502VV0000R01.htm

Please check and if necessary, update the firmware!

  • Satellite Pro A210 DVD Drive not working no-error code 39

    Hi all

My Satellite Pro A210 dvd player does not load.
When I looked inside, he showed an error code 39.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it still doesn't work.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

To my knowledge, the 39 error message appears if the CD/DVD drive is not visible in my computer.
    You can try this workaround:
Go to Device Manager and remove the drive CD/DVD from the list of devices.
Then go to the registry (regedit) and remove upper and lower key filters:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\ Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Then restart the device and test again
    I think this should help!

  • Satellite L755 - CD/DVD drive does not

I own Satellite L755 and the dvd rom does not work (do not read disks and show on the disks in the computer).

When I go into the Device Manager in windows it displays error code: 39 which means that the driver is defective.

It is not the first time its happening.
It happens after a few months and I need to back up and do the system recovery each time.

Is there a way to fix this without making the system recovery each time?

    Hello

    Try this workaround:

Go to Device Manager and remove the CD/DVD drive entry (mark and press DELETE)

Then start the registry and remove the filters above and below the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM \CurrentControlSet \Control \Class------{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

  • Satellite 2430: CD/DVD drive does not work - i/o error

Hello all Toshiba people.i have recently bought a Toshiba Satellite 2430 for a very good price. One thing the carpet * a DVD - ram Uj - 810 drive does not work when I put in any type of cd or dvd, I get this error
    F:\ is not accessible.
The request could not be performed because of an i/o error.

I talked to my local computer Wizz and does everything that he suggested to the letter and still the same problem. He suggested updating the bios drivers and the only way to do that is on a disk drive that she cannot take the an or a CD or dvd drive is not working. Can you please help me!

    Begging you a lot
    Michael Borger

In my view BIOS update will not change.
I assume that the reader has worked in the past with the same BIOS version
It is a drive hardware problem or some registry keys are corrupt.

I think that it s a hardware malfunction may be a matter of lenses.
    But try this;
Remove the drive from Device Manager and shut the laptop computer. After restarting again the operating system should recognize the drive again. Then you can check the functionality.

Otherwise, you can remove the disk from the laptop, and then start the laptop without the drive. Then stop the laptop, put the drive in the notebook and start over.
    The firmware should again loads.

But if these procedures help t, I don t see it differently as for replace the drive

But whenever I try to install it says "disc not found... no access to.

    Hello!

Why you n t search forum before starting a new topic?
I mean you will find hundreds of discussions on this question here in the forum and you will find the solution to your problem in a few minutes.

Well, the reason for this is because you need the SATA drivers before installing Windows XP. As far as I know that your laptop is equipped with an Intel chipset and so you have the Intel Storage Manager. You can integrate the drivers of external floppy drive or nLite [www.nliteos.com]. In addition, this document could be useful for you:

  • Satellite L100: CD/DVD drive is not recognized in the Bios or workstation

    Satellite L100 - 170 No.PSLA3E model 02501QEN under Win XP.

The icon of the CD/DVD drive has disappeared from the desktop and is not listed in the Device Manager or showing in the BIOS.
There is power to the drive and the tray ejects OK
I tried to use the ease of adding new hardware in the Control Panel, but it does not list a CD player.
I removed the disc and then re - it sitting, but it made no difference.

I used the restoration of the system for the last available date 26 January 08, but it does not restore the CD player... and I have none, he worked at that time.
I don't think it's a faulty drive, because he is picking up power and when you insert a CD, it starts as if she was about to read the disc, but nothing appears on the screen.

The laptop belongs to a child with autism and all I can get out he is "I don't know" when asked what happened to the laptop.
Sorry I don't have any other information.

    Can anyone help.

    Thank you

    Jan

Well, usually if the CD/DVD drive doesn t appear in the BIOS or BIOS cannot recognize the ODD then chances are that the CD/DVD drive is malfunctioning.

But the best way to check this is a new installation of the OS. You should try to boot from a bootable XP CD.
If the laptop would be able to boot from the CD, then the material is ok.

I have the same laptop and he needs me through display ATI to get started setting up first plug in your TV via the HDMI cable, double click on the ATI icon in the taskbar. Click on advanced settings and click Display Manager (check if your TV will appear in the info box) if it is not detected, click view options and check the detection TV power button.
Go back to the display manager and see if your TV shows? If she then set the resolution of your TV and click on apply. I then used the FN keys while pressing F5 to only display LCD TV options. I hope this is a help for you

If the ODD is not shown in Windows Explorer, but listed in the Manager for devices with yellow symbol (!) Please do this http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;320553 (method 1).

  • Erratic behavior of satellite L750 - 16Z DVD Drive

The DVD drive for this model is HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30N.

From a previous post, I was led to understand that it is normal that the reader to click on start. Once I've connected on W7 (after 2 minutes) it clicks again.

If I go into the PC diagnostic tool, it will commit again.

He also started clicking at random moments, which is very annoying.

I think it has changed when I'm fiddling around with one of these TOSHIBA. I guess it could be either:

    Toshiba TEMPRO
    PC Diagnostic tool
    PC Health Monitor
    Service station

This could really be something, but now it is so irritating that I disabled HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30N in devmgmt. I prefer to not do what I'm going to have to keep activation and deactivation.

Experts out there who understand the strange operation of this configuration?

    null

    > If this is the case uncheck you the "Toshiba PC Health Monitor" to start msconfig work and is it safe to do?

    Yes, it's really safe!
The "Toshiba PC Health Monitor" would not start when starting the device if you disable the "Toshiba PC Health Monitor" in the msconfig Startup tab.

But this software can still be used if you need you can find the exe file in all programs-> Toshiba
